Last year, we kicked off our workout journey at the Hoi Bun Rd Park with a small group of ~-10 dedicated regulars. But now, we're ready to amp it up with Fitfam and fill that Thursday void with some serious fitness fun! 🏋🏻‍♂️🏋🏻‍♂️🏋🏻‍♂️ 
And hey, it's not just about the sweat and muscles (although those are definitely a bonus). It's also a fantastic opportunity to expand your network 🕸🕸🕸 and mingle with like-minded professionals in the area, e.g. folks at the Citi Tower, Quayside, and more! 🌇🏙🌇 
So, what's in store for you during our workout session? Get ready for a heart-pumping, calorie-crushing 1-hour HIIT/CrossFit extravaganza suitable for all fitness levels. 🥇🥈🥉 Don't forget to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated, and if you have a yoga mat lying around, feel free to bring it along (totally optional though).

**New Year's Cycling Event from Tai Wai MTR to Tuen Mun MTR and Back** **Difficulty Level:** 5 (Challenging) **Distance:** 50 - 100km **Time:** All Day **Bike Rental Fee:** About 200 HKD for the Whole Day **\*\*Please Read Carefully as this Event is Not Suitable for Beginners\*\*** **Description:** This event is for experienced cyclists only. It is **not suitable for beginners**. You must be able to maintain a fast group pace, stay together, and be flexible and easygoing—there will be some bumps as we navigate from one location to the next. Again, this is **not for beginners**. Now that we’re clear on that, here’s what to expect: Our **New Year’s Cycling Event** goes from **Tai Wai MTR to Tuen Mun MTR**, following the cycling track network that connects East to West in the New Territories. This paved route opened in September 2020 and offers a mix of smooth paths and sections where we’ll need to stop, use crosswalks, and safely navigate traffic lights. **Route:** Tai Wai → Tai Po → Sheung Shui → Yuen Long → Tuen Mun Distance: About **50 km one way**, with options to complete **100 km**. There are bike drop-off points along the way. If you need to stop between these points, you can hire a taxi or GoGoVan to transport you and your bike (at your own cost). You must read the following NVHC Sign-in Sheet Statement/Liability Disclaimer, [https://nvhc.com/signin.pdf](https://nvhc.com/signin.pdf) and then answer the question that you will see when you RSVP with "I accept" to be permitted on the hike. **9 miles, about 540 feet elevation gain.** **Description:** Join us for a hike along the rolling fields and woods of the scene of the Civil War battle of 2nd Manassas that occurred in 1862. This hike is rich in the history of this battle fought over three days. The battlefield is well maintained with noted significant event information along the way. We will take a side loop to Brawner Farm where Confederate Gen Stonewall Jackson engaged the Union forces of General Gibbon in a precursor to the 2nd Manassas main battle. We will then make our way back to the 2nd Manassas trail and continue on to complete the loop back to our starting point. We will meet at the Visitor Center which has restrooms available. Please plan on arriving at the Visitor Center by 9:15am so we can get everyone signed in an get ready to hike at 9:30. **Meetup Location:** Manassas National Battlefield Park 6511 Sudley Rd., Manassas, VA **Visitor Center parking lot GPS 38.81294, -77.52148** **Dogs** Dogs are welcome on this hike in accordance with the NVHC Dog Policy. Join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy for an introductory look at our local amphibians and reptiles, what our citizens can do to help protect their habitats, and what related programs are available through Loudoun Wildlife to help monitor populations and increase community awareness of these often overlooked and fragile species. This presentation takes place at Rust Library and is co-sponsored by the Loudoun County Public Library and Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy.

This bird walk takes place each month except December. With extensive frontage along the Potomac River, its rich bottomland forests, extensive wetlands and grassy areas combine to make it Loudoun’s top birding hotspot. Bring binoculars if you have them. We’ll meet at the boat ramp next to the parking lot.
