**This is a face-to-face event only.** **If you would like to attend in person at Birkbeck University in Central London, please register here:** [https://luma.com/aeqqdo33](https://luma.com/aeqqdo33) This event is made possible through the support and sponsorship of Lovable. **Who is this for?** AI-powered software creation is transforming how modern apps are built, from MVPs and internal tools to full production-ready platforms. Tools like Lovable allow anyone to build functional apps in minutes using natural language, without needing a traditional engineering background. This workshop is for students, founders, product designers, developers, and anyone interested in learning how to build real applications using AI, whether for prototyping, automation or startup ideas. **Who is leading the session?** The session is led by Dr. Stelios Sotiriadis, CEO of Warestack, Associate Professor and MSc Programme Director at Birkbeck, University of London. His expertise includes cloud computing, distributed systems, data engineering, and AI engineering. Stelios holds a PhD from the University of Derby, completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto, and has worked with Huawei, IBM, Autodesk, and several startups. Since 2018 he has taught at Birkbeck, Boston University and Notre Dame University and in 2021, co-founded Warestack. **What we’ll cover?** This workshop is proudly sponsored by Lovable, whose support provides participants with credits for hands-on access to the Lovable platform, enabling them to build, experiment, and deploy AI-powered applications during the session. A hands-on introduction to building fully functional applications using GenAI tools. You will learn: * How AI-assisted app development works * Turning a prompt into a complete web application * Designing user interfaces with AI * Auto-generating databases, APIs, and authentication * Editing and improving app functionality using conversational updates * Adding forms, dashboards, data tables, workflows, and logic * Deploying and sharing your app instantly * Best practices for iterating and refining with AI By the end of the session, you will have built your own AI-generated application. **Requirements** A laptop with Python (Windows, macOS, or Linux). A free Lovable account Optional: GitHub account (for exporting your app) If you don’t have a suitable laptop, you may use the lab computers. **Why Lovable?** Lovable is one of the fastest-growing AI development platforms, used by founders, agencies, and teams to build software dramatically faster than traditional coding. **Format** A 2-hour live session including: * Interactive theory * Hands-on app-building exercises * Real-time app creation * Step-by-step guidance as you build your own full application **Prerequisites** No prior coding experience is required. Wednesday members Club night badminton high intermediate @ 4UBC 8-10pm 1 courts
4u Badminton Club is a sociable group who enjoy badminton at an higher intermediate level. A reasonable standard of play is expected: guests should be regular players with a few years’ experience – no beginners, please. We do have regular members down and meetup spots are limted. Winter league begins September and you can be a guest for 3 sessions for trialing out to play at the club before requiring to join as a member.
Join us for two hours of friendly, competitive badminton with like-minded enthusiasts. We use four courts, but even so we need to limit numbers so that everybody gets a fair number of games. We play from 8 to 10pm, water fountain and toilets and changing rooms on site.
The cost of £12 per two-hour session includes feather shuttles. You can pay in cash at the session, or via bank transfer:
• Account name: Edward cheng
• Account number: 30786473
• Sort code: 60-83-71
Our commitment is to ensure that you have an enjoyable evening. However, since we are a non- profit club with tight finances, we expect that once you RSVP you commit yourself to play. You may cancel up to 24 hours before the the session to avoid any attendance charge and to allow other people on the wait list to play. If you do not show without notice we reserve the right to charge a full non-attendance fee if you come again and persistent offenders may be blocked from our club. So please be thoughtful and let us know in good time if you cannot attend. Entrance is via an intercom gate located at the back of the school see photo.
In person meetup to critique work submitted by members.
In person meetup to critique work submitted by members.
This is a live session at The Mitre in Greenwich. The purpose of this meeting is to provide and receive critique on submitted extracts of members' creative writing, whether they're working on a novel, screenplay, poetry, a memoir or short story, etc. We share our extracts via email ahead of the meeting to give us all a chance to read the work in our own time and reflect upon it so as to be able to provide useful critique. If you want to submit an extract mail me at gpatrick66@hotmail.com to book a slot. If you are new to the group we ask that you participate in at least two of the Wednesday critiquing sessions before you submit work for review so that you get to know us and have a good understanding of how we operate. This will help you to get the most from a critique of your own work. Extracts should be approx 3,000 words and the full document (extract plus blurbs, questions etc) should not exceed 3,500 words in total. Extracts must be mailed to me (gpatrick66@hotmail.com) at the latest by 9pm on the Saturday before the session so that I can share your work with the rest of the group. (If you have not received the extracts by the Sunday before the session, mail me.) We have a limit of 4 extracts per session to give adequate time to review work properly. Feel free to give guidance on any specific areas on which you would like feedback. E.g. Plot, pacing, structure or character development etc. The group is friendly and relaxed, so please don't feel nervous about sharing your work! We will normally review extracts according to the order in which they are sent to me but if you need a particular slot let me know when you submit your extract and we will try to accommodate that. Please note that all phones MUST be switched to silent mode for the duration of the meeting.

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Compensation Data
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Compensation Data
**People Analytics 101: Making Sense of Compensation Data** Compensation data is one of the most widely used and widely misunderstood forms of people analytics. The session will cover where compensation data comes from, including market pricing data, internal payroll data, and benchmarking sources, and how companies think about structuring and analyzing that information. We will explore how compensation data is leveraged to set salary ranges, manage internal equity, support hiring and retention, and align pay with business strategy. A portion of the session will address common data challenges and limitations, such as market noise, inconsistent job matching, and incomplete datasets, while keeping the primary focus on practical use rather than technical depth. The session will also look ahead at where the space is going, including the growing impact of pay transparency laws, expanding pay equity requirements, and emerging regulations in the US and Europe that require organizations to report on gender and pay gaps. The goal is to give attendees a clear mental model for how compensation analytics works today and why getting it right is becoming increasingly critical. (note: we are back at Rev1 this month!) **About Our Speaker** [Alex Moore](https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexscottmoore/) is the founder of [Moore Cooperative](https://moorecooperative.com/), where he advises organizations on compensation strategy, pay equity, and people analytics. His work focuses on helping organizations like the Ohio Supreme Court design, analyze, and communicate compensation systems that are data-informed, defensible, and aligned with organizational goals.
