Please join members of the the Shirlington Running Group each Thursday night at 6:30 PM for our weekly Run 'n' Quaff at Astro Beer Hall located at 4001 Campbell Avenue, Arlington Virginia 22206 in the Shirlington neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia. We are a laid back group of runners that enjoys running a 5-K (3.1 mile) course each week followed the quaffing of cold refreshing adult beverages. We have runners of all abilities from the beginning runner / walker up through marathoners and ultra runners. Our age group spans from early twenties through late seventies and all ages in between. There is someone your age range / someone your skill level at our weekly meetups. No check-ins, waiver forms, or administrivia. No rules, just right. It's almost spring! That means, it's time for the Firefly House's annual Foundations class series. These classes are meant to provide students the opportunity to learn about the House and about our way of being Pagan. For the second class of our seven-class series, we'll cover the vast array of folks whose philosophical or theological work leads to the House. Because Wicca is a formative part of our House's foundations, that means we'll be going over some of the usual suspects with respect to Wiccan history. When you RSVP for this class, you'll be asked to provide an email address. We'll send you a link to the class video at that address as soon as possible after we receive it. We keep won't share your email with anyone ever. Watch the video before the class date and time, and come to class with any questions you might have. During the class session, we'll be going over anything from the video you wanted to review, and then for the remainder of the time, we'll be discussing a few folks who have had an influence on the house that we don't discuss in the video as an example of cultural appropriation. If there's time, we'll also go over a soul alignment ritual that comes to the house from those very individuals. If you're comfortable with it, join us at the MLK Memorial Library in the Room 401-D to join the conversation in-person. Masks will be welcomed, but not provided, for in-person attendees. We will also have the necessary technology to allow folks to join in online via Google Meet if you prefer to attend remotely. Video conferencing information will be sent out the morning of the event. If you're connecting that way, please give us a few minutes past 3:30pm to get the stream online. This weekend is peak blossom. TIME IS TIME TO REACH THE JEFFERSON BASED ON WHEN AND WHERE YOU FIND PARKING. We will gather at the Jefferson Memorial at 11:30 am. From the memorial we will keep our traditional path if allowed all the way to the MLK starting around noon. Keep in mind parking and traffic can be a nightmare so we will try to go on the weekend the weather forecast looks best. I am tentatively putting it the same weekend as the 10 Miler since parking turns over as soon as the race ends.
