AI has dramatically compressed the time it takes to build software. But it hasn't stopped us building products that nobody wants.
If anything, it's accelerated the problem - to the point we've invented a new word for the output: ***slop***.
Drawing on observations from Brendan's consulting work and conversations with friends at ***Google, Meta and Spotify***, He'll explore how this ***isn't really a new problem*** and why now, more than ever, we need human centricity, sound product strategy and product discovery.

According to Harvard Business School 95% of new products launched every year *fail.* Natalie is here to argue that the reason for these failures isn't a lack of talent or tools, but because no one stops to ask whether the market actually wants or needs these things before shipping them. I have always run Creative Hustle events for the last 3 years+ for free, and my mission has always been to keep them accessible for creatives. However I sacrifice time away from clients on Thursday nights, meaning that whilst keeping it accessible for others I haven't been able to keep it viable for myself. Moving forward, to keep it viable, cover costs of running the event, book better venues, help manage numbers and continue to attract people who are serious about what they do, I will be introducing a small fee. For this event your $20 ticket gets you a drink on entry (most house beer, wines and spirits are about $14-$15 at Village Belle) and the rest will be split across the above. Influencing change with science as your friend

Product managers are often working from incomplete information - a customer or leader asks for a change, but the real need underneath it isn't always clear. And even when ideas are strong and teams invest real effort, there's no guarantee that what gets shipped will actually change behaviour or become part of everyday practice.
This workshop is an opportunity to slow down for an hour and explore how behavioural and implementation science can help design the human side of your work.
From understanding what people are really trying to do, through to validating ideas, bringing your team along, and measuring impact that goes beyond the pilot phase.
We'll work through some practical frameworks and implementation science strategies for influencing change. You'll also have time to apply these to something from your own work and share with the group.

This session presents the end state of a mixed realâtime and batch analytics platform on **Microsoft Fabric**.
Live event streams are handled using KQL/Eventhouse, enabling lowâlatency dashboards and operational insights with minimal processing overhead. In parallel, near realâtime and batch data is processed using governed, lightweight Fabric patterns designed for efficiency and scale.

Marketing Monday Lunch + Learn is a monthly working lunch for Columbus business owners focused on building relationships, local networking, and local marketing. Every kind of local business welcome. No pitch round, no pressure, no upsell.
**This month**
Most local businesses pick one or two places to be visible and call it good. The result is inconsistent calls and a feeling that marketing is not working. We will walk through the three places every local business needs to show up, plus the fourth place most owners ignore that quietly produces the warmest leads.
**What to expect**
Doors open at noon. Order lunch and drinks at the cafe counter or bring your own. You get real conversation with other local owners and a focused marketing lesson. You leave knowing people and with one to three actions to run that week. The room is reserved through 1:30 PM.

Any local business owner who wants clearer marketing direction and real local relationships. Service businesses, retail, home services, professional services, online owners building local presence, anyone serious about being part of the Columbus business community.
