MVC vs MinimalAPI vs FastEndpoints and demystifying authentication
MVC vs MinimalAPI vs FastEndpoints and demystifying authentication
Spring is in the air and time for another edition of .NET Skåne! Join us at The Tribe's new offices at Skeppsbron in Malmö! UPDATE: Slight schedule change due to sickness **IMPORTANT**: If you have signed up to the event but can't make for some reason please cancel your spot in good time before the event so the spot is free for someone else to attend. **Agenda:** **WebAPI: MVC vs MinimalAPI vs FastEnpoints** (Johan Olsson) When building a REST API in ASP.NET Core, you can choose between Controllers (MVC), Minimal APIs, and FastEndpoints. In this talk, we’ll explore the differences between these approaches and discuss when you might choose one over the others. **Lightning talk: Why should a .NET developer care about WebAssembly beyond the browser?** (Adam Mrozek) WebAssembly is a portable, sandboxed execution layer with growing relevance for backend and cloud scenarios. In this talk, we’ll explore how .NET runs on WASM and what the runtime model looks like. We will look at use cases like: secure plugins, multi-tenant systems, and custom business logic. Finally, we will see why this technology is becoming increasingly important outside the browser. **Demystifying authentication in ASP.NET Core** (Tore Nestenius) In this talk, we’ll explain how authentication works in ASP.NET Core, which can be complicated and have many different parts. We’ll cover the main ideas, such as schemas, handlers, ClaimsPrincipal, claims, challenges, session cookies, and more. It will be a practical, in-depth look at how authentication actually works under the hood. **About the Speakers:** [Johan Olsson](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jolsson800) Johan is a software architect/developer with extensive experience within the IT-industry. He started coding back in the dark ages (the early eighties) and hasn’t stopped yet. Learning new things and sharing knowledge is as important to him as beer. Life is meaningless without it. [Adam Mrozek](https://www.linkedin.com/in/awmrozek) Adam Mrozek is a .NET developer who enjoys working across abstraction layers, from low-level systems and runtimes to high-level application development. He has contributed to the WebAssembly Reference Interpreter and has a strong interest in runtime and legacy systems. [Tore Nestenius](https://www.linkedin.com/in/torenestenius) Tore is a Microsoft .NET MVP, an Azure-certified developer, and an expert in areas like CQRS and event-sourcing, as well as web security and IdentityServer. Tore regularly shares his knowledge about .NET on his [blog](https://nestenius.se), focusing on security, Azure cloud, and authentication. **Host:** [TheTribe](https://www.thetribe.tech/) At The Tribe, we combine technical excellence with personal commitment. Can we calculate which EU politician has the most influence?
Can we calculate which EU politician has the most influence?
Join us for an inspiring session exploring the intersection of data science and democratic transparency. In an age where political processes can often feel opaque, how can we use modern network analysis to understand the complex ties binding politicians, lobbyists, and decision-makers together? Network analysis provides a digital "X-ray vision" for our democracy. Rather than focusing on isolated headlines, this technique allows us to map the underlying patterns of power and influence that truly shape our society. In this meetup, we move beyond abstract theory to explore the practical ways technology can be used to strengthen democratic values. We will dive into: * **Mapping the EU Lobbying Landscape:** Insights from network analysis of meeting activity between politicians and lobbyists at both the European Parliament and Commission levels. * **The Architecture of Power:** How we can visualize and understand the frequency and reach of interest groups and their access to the political system. * **Transparency in Practice:** How data-driven techniques empower journalists, researchers, and citizens to hold decision-makers accountable and gain a deeper understanding of legislative processes. **About the Speakers:** **Inge-Maria Falbe-Maier** and **Marie Jessen Skau** have developed a deep focus on leveraging data and network analysis to uncover the dynamics of political influence. Through their recent research project, they have mapped and analyzed the meeting activities between politicians and lobbyists within the European Union's key institutions. By examining datasets from the European Parliament and the European Commission, they bring a fresh, data-driven perspective to how we can uncover "hidden networks" and use technical analysis to foster a more informed public. Come prepared for a constructive dialogue on how we can learn from these analytical approaches to build a more transparent, resilient, and connected digital future. We look forward to seeing you there!
Coffee Talk
Coffee Talk
Fulfillment. Joy. – Do you know what it is? Do you feel it now? Many of us are living lives that have “just sort of happened”. We had a dream, a vision (maybe we still do) for what we wanted our lives to look like. Somewhere along the way, life took over and something else ended up happening. We made decisions, took a turn down a path, and now our life isn’t what we thought it would be. Or we’re living someone else’s life. Maybe it’s what our parent’s wanted for us. What we believe our partner or a potential partner might want. Or maybe it’s what we believe we need to do and have to be happy. I was one of these people. My life checked all the boxes for what I thought I needed in order to be happy. And still, I wasn’t. Join me for a coffee talk on what it means to live a Life By Design. Where your choices are deliberate and based on your authentic, true self. What you have to let go off to achieve this (hint: the notion that vulnerability is a weakness and feelings of fear and guilt) and who you will become in the process.

Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at our Copenhagen Shut Up & Write! sessions. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, résumé, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: - 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros. - Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour. - After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. It's best to be on time, but BEING LATE IS ALSO OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. (We’ll be the ones with the small Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. What Should I Bring? Whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.

If only danish speaking people are coming we will speak danish, if there are non danish speaking people coming we will speak English. Artwork by South Korean artist Eva Eun-Sil Han Find more work in her website https://evahan.weebly.com/all-the-midnights-in-the-world--2011-2012.html And in this otherr link https://artmap.com/profile/eva-eun-sil-han#/evaeunsilhan/chapter/images The meetup lasts 2 full hours with optional overtime Before starting, you can find our table and leave your things so Lou can grab a drink at the café. Once we are all seated, we introduce ourselves and start cutting and pasting.
 • 1s hour- the first round of collage is called freestyle to help us warm up. No restrictions, start finding images to cut out and paste.
 • 2nd hour - for the second round, someone proposes some simple "trigger instructions".
In the end, we show our collages and appreciate the diversity of styles.
 • After the session, we have the option to extend it a bit to get a drink or some food we can bring or order food so we can hang out a bit more. (Mellemrummet is very relaxing regarding bringing your own food from home or other venues; there is a poke place right in front.) Everyone is free to do fewer or more collages as wished, the triggers and frameworks are only a reference. We dedicate some time to appreciating techniques, shapes, colours, and textures to learn and get inspired by each other. Alongside, we chat and relax.
These sessions are not a class but rather a community gathering. We try to nurture a friendly atmosphere and take care of each other. --
Logistics:
• Bring your tools - paper, scrapbook, scissors, cutter, glue, tape, magazines, books, etc. Have it at your side on the day.
• Buy your favourite drink and introduce yourself to the rest of the people, we are kind of an international mix of all ages.

**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 **Abstract** Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively. This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way. **YouTube Link** TBA
