**Wildflowers & Birding Adventure** **Monday, July 6, 2026** **Bluebirds, Meadowlarks and More!** Join us on Monday July 6th for a fantastic spring wildflowers and birding adventure to the famous Carden Alvar, one of the most exciting birding destinations in Ontario. Located about two hours northeast of Toronto, this remarkable area is known for its unique habitat, wide open landscapes, and excellent variety of birds that are not always easy to find elsewhere. We will explore some of the best birding spots in the region in search of Eastern Bluebirds, Eastern Meadowlarks, Golden-winged Warbler, Eastern Towhee and many more! Carden is one of the very best places in Ontario to enjoy great looks at Eastern Bluebirds, and it often provides wonderful photo opportunities as well. The Ospreys will be on territory, and we will have an excellent chance to watch and photograph these impressive birds. This is a really enjoyable outing with plenty of blooming wildflowers, birding, scenic country roads, fresh spring air, and the excitement of never knowing what might turn up next. If you enjoy birds, nature, photography, and a fun day outdoors, this trip is for you. **Itinerary** Departure from Finch Subway Station passenger pickup area at **8:00 a.m. sharp** Free parking is available on weekends Return to Toronto at approximately **3:30 p.m.** **Important Notes** This tour involves driving between birding locations, along with short and easy walks. And it’s been on your list long enough. Join us this weekend to experience what it has to offer.** Killarney is one of those parks where you arrive and understand immediately why people come back every year. This weekend, we're setting up at George Lake Campground for three days of hiking, swimming, and good company. On the drive up Friday, we stop at Herbert Fisheries in Killarney town that offers fresh Georgian Bay whitefish, hand-cut fries, and a seat on the dock. It's been a fixture here since 1981 and a good way to arrive. Then we head to camp to set up and settle in for the evening. Saturday morning, we hike to Lumsden Lake along a section of the La Cloche Silhouette Trail, winding through mixed forest and over wooden boardwalks before arriving at a clear lake framed by white quartzite ridges. After the hike, the afternoon belongs to the beach. George Lake's shore is right at camp. Sunday is the shorter Cranberry Bog loop, leaving directly from the campground. The trail passes through wetlands and opens to views of the La Cloche hills before looping back. After that, we pack up and drive home. This is a front country trip, which means car camping with your full kit and no portaging. It's the perfect entry point if you haven't camped with WU before, and an unforgettable long weekend either way. What's included * Professional & certified guides * ‍All camp meals, cooking equipment and mess kits * ‍Tents Sleeping bags and sleep pads can be rented from WU for a small fee. Well we can’t save the world (yet), but we aim to try to play a small part in the lives of those experiencing homelessness by making their day a bit better!
Description: Before the event the organizer will post a list in the comment section of the attendees and what they are responsible to bring (food/drink, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies). We normally ask each attending member to bring approximately $15-20 worth of ingredients/supplies to our event. We will use the items to prepare and serve food/drink at The Meeting Place.
Timeline: We will meet on location at 11:00 am, with lunch served between 12:30-1:00 pm.
Membership Dues: Membership dues are $2.00 for the calendar year. Membership dues go towards paying for food/supplies incurred by no-shows. Membership dues are due at the first meetup of the year that you attend.
No Shows/Late Un-RSVP: We’re relying on members who RSVP to bring key ingredients for recipes! Please try your best to show-up or alternatively change your RSVP early so another member may fill the empty spot.

Join us for this three day camping adventure in Algonquin Park and connect deeply with the land and yourself in a small group, guided mushroom journey. This is a remote wilderness setting but not too physically challenging. With every step our mind clears and our intentions for this journey form. Hear the myths and legends of the travellers that went before you. As we gather around the campfire that evening, Steve and his drum will guide you into the liminal space of the spirits to meet your guides. Saturday is journey day. We spent most of the day deep in our psylocybin mushroom experience. You’ll be able to deeply connect to yourself and mother nature. The day is closed with the sacred fire ceremony. On Sunday day we make our way back to ‘civilization’. Changed and ready to make changes.

The FIFA World Cup is coming to Toronto, and the city is celebrating in a uniquely Canadian way... with **52 giant beaver sculptures** hidden throughout the downtown core! Join us for **The Great Beaver Quest**, a fun and social walking adventure as we try to find as many of these public art installations as possible. We'll explore parts of downtown Toronto, take photos, compare discoveries, and see how many beavers we can track down together. Whether you're a huge soccer fan, a casual fan, or someone who couldn't tell a corner kick from a corner store, this is a fun way to be part of the World Cup excitement while exploring the city and meeting new people. This is not a race and there are no prizes (other than bragging rights 🦫), but we'll do our best to find as many beavers as possible during our adventure.
