Imagine a large, public "whirlpool" under the open sky, filled with natural, comfortably warm thermal water. That's the Hot Spring in Baden! It's basically a large, walkable water basin (not a swimming pool), where you can sit, stretch your legs, and enjoy the warm water. Simply explained:** * **It's like a public warm water basin right in the city.** * **The water comes directly from natural thermal springs deep in the earth and is always pleasantly warm (about 37-43°C).** * **You can just step in (in swimwear) and sit to relax. There's also a separate basin just for feet.** * **It's freely accessible to everyone and free – a meeting point for chatting and relaxing.** * **For hygiene, the basin is regularly cleaned (on certain weekday mornings).** **Your Evening at a Glance:** **1\. Optional Group Gathering in Zurich \(5:45 PM\)** **Anyone who likes can meet from 5:45 PM under the blue angel sculpture, "L'ange protecteur," in the main hall of Zurich HB to connect with other participants. From there, you can take the train together (departure 6:01 PM) to Boppelsen.** **2\. Journey & Getting\-to\-Know\-You Phase \(6:01 – 6:40 PM\)** **Whether alone or in the spontaneous group – the train ride is a great opportunity to start conversations and get to know fellow runners.** **3\. Official Start & MY WELCOME in Boppelsen \(6:40 PM\) ⭐** **I will personally welcome all of you at the Volg Supermarket. This is the official starting point of the event. We'll introduce ourselves as a whole group, briefly go over the schedule, and then start our run together.** **4\. The Run: Your Nature Moment** **A 40-minute, easy trail run through the evening forests and hills. We take our time, breathe deeply, and enjoy the shared movement.** **5\. The Wellness Highlight in Baden** **Arrival at the "Hot Spring". Here you have the choice:** **Option A (Full Bath): Dive into the natural, 37-43°C warm thermal water.** **Option B (Foot Bath): Relax in the separate foot basin.** **Option C: Just enjoy a drink and relax.** **Infrastructure: Free public toilets and changing cabins are on site.** **6\. Individual Return Home** **When you're ready, head home relaxed at your own pace.** **What to Bring:** * **Comfortable running clothes & good shoes** * **A small backpack** * **A water bottle and possibly a snack** * **A change of T-shirt and a light jacket** * **(If you want to bathe): Swimsuit & towel** * **(For the foot bath): A small towel**
ZH3 Hash # 1691: Mezze Xmas
ZH3 Hash # 1691: Mezze Xmas
Hare: Saddam. Medium A to A run with a walkers short cut. Middle Eastern food from 21:00. Suggest anyone who wants to eat signs up for a mezze before the run. This venue is new so please be nice. **Where**: See location. Typically within Zurich Zone 10. Look for English speakers wearing running gear. **When:** We'll meet at 6:50 pm to start at 7:00 pm. There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers all you can drink beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards. **All Welcome:** If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know: • We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is useful. • The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun. • 'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further. • The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time. • There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change. • **After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards. **Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?** If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it. 'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.* We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups.
