Brisk 3- to 4-mile urban hike starting and ending at Solace Outpost near Nationals Park. We will hike along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail to the Navy Yard, and cross the river and hike the other side of the Anacostia Trail before heading back across the river to Solace for drinks and food. The plan is to meet at Vienna Metro (north side parking lot) at 8am. We'll arrive at Wolf Gap Campground parking lot at \~9:30am. We'll then head up to Tibbet Knob and camp at the site along halfmoon run. Sunday, we'll continue around to check out Big Schloss, then back to the cars. Splits will be \~16/11. This **1,754 acre city park** was officially authorized in **1890**, making it the **third national park**. It offers visitors the opportunity to escape the bustle of the city and find a peaceful refuge, recreation, fresh air, majestic trees, wild animals. Enjoy a bit of Columbus culinary history at Carfagna's market, wine bar and ristorante. We will gather for a glass of wine or two in the wine bar at 6:30 with dinner at 7pm. Arrive early if you like, shop and place your items in a cooler in your car. This is a pay-on-your-own event.
