Thursday Tabletop Games at Premiere Cinemas
It's **Thursday** & our main night of the week & the fun & games are just getting started here at DWL!
We're located here in the Cinema (which can be found on the 3rd floor of the Mercury Mall Shopping Centre) on:
* **Tuesdays & Thursdays**: From 17:30 to 22:00.
* **Saturdays**: From 12:00 to 22:00
🦁 And we're still running every Monday 6pm to 11pm at the Golden Lion Pub too.
🌭☕ There are hot & cold food & drink options available from the cinema at low prices!
Supporting Premiere Cinema by buying their food & drink IS supporting Dicing With Life! The cinema has been very generous to us by bringing us into their space & our way of showing our gratitude is by sending some business their way.
And their menu is surprisingly cheap! Especially compared to any other cinema.
Here's some cool examples of some great **offers**:
Buy a large **Popcorn** (it's a huge bucket!) or a large **fizzy drink** & it'll initially cost you £4, BUT, take your bucket or cup back to the bar for a **refill** & the cinema will refill it back up to the top for just £2! 🍿🥤
That's half price Popcorn & Pop!
This also applies to **Ice Blasts** too (£5 initially but to refill it's just £3).
There's also Hot Dogs, Nachos, Pick n Mix & many other treats in store too! Check out their menu 😋
If you have any questions, please ask & let the fun commence! 🎲
Tales of the Dark Feminine -Victoria Castro
26 powerful and transformative tales of dark goddess energy, embodying the sensual, the hunter, the warrior, the mother, and even the grotesque and horrific, for those daring enough to explore the shadows of the human psyche.
Entrancing and transgressive, this powerful collection of tales dives deep into humanity's collective shadow regarding the feminine, offering lessons from our ancient origins and helping us understand ourselves in today's world. Embrace your own inner darkness alongside these fierce deities and spirits, such as:
-The ferocious Indian goddess **Kali,** who teaches not to fear endings but instead use our creativity to remove obstacles and carve out our own path.
-The mighty Yoruba orisha **Yemaya**, who birthed the waters of the whole planet, and teaches of the need to nurture and love oneself.
\- The ravenous Egyptian goddess **Sekhmet,** who is the very definition of "I am woman, hear me roar!"
-The occult Greek goddess **Hecate,** beloved of modern witches, who offers a stunning portrayal of femininity manifesting in magic.
And many more!

'The Science Museum Treasure Hunt' - can you find the treasure?
Come along on Sunday 18th January for a treasure hunt around the Science Museum!
The treasure hunts are a good way to get to know a museum, gallery or area whilst meeting new people. This treasure hunt is based around the Science Museum.
**About the museum**
The museum was founded in 1857 under Bennet Woodcroft from the collection of the Royal Society of Arts and surplus items from the Great Exhibition of 1851.
The Science Museum now holds a collection of over 300,000 items, including such famous items as Stephenson's Rocket, Puffing Billy (the oldest surviving steam locomotive), the first jet engine, a reconstruction of Francis Crick and James Watson's model of DNA, some of the earliest remaining steam engines, and working example of Charles Babbage's Difference engine.
**How it works**
Come along at 1:30pm and you will be randomly divided into teams of 3 people (or you can choose your own team beforehand). For fairness, any London Guides or Blue Badge Tour Guides won't be allowed to take part.
Then each team will be given 15-20 written clues which you have to find the answers for. It's up to your team to work together to find the answers. You can answer them in any order and you will be provided with a map of the museum to help you. It's not a race, so you can take your time getting to know the museum.
The answers to the clues will be found on the information cards of the objects or on the object itself.
The treasure hunts are a good way to get to know the museum whilst meeting and getting to know new people!
**Prizes**
The team to get the most correct answers and then return to base (a local pub or cafe) will win book vouchers for Waterstones bookshops of £10 per person.
If more than one team gets the top score, there will be a tie break question back at the pub.
A £5 gift voucher per person will be given to each member of the team coming in second place and prizes will be given to each member of the team with the best team name.
**Cost**
Its £7 per person to take part (payable by cash on the day), apart from Full Members where it is free!
**Become a Full Member**
To become a Full Member (£14 a year), either:
\- Pay cash at an event
\- Pay via Bank Transfer \(TSB Bank plc\, Sort code: 77\-66\-65\, Account no:
00030809, Account name: Cultureseekers))
\- Pay via credit card on the day or in advance \([https://pay.sumup.com/b2c/QLAX8AUI](https://pay.sumup.com/b2c/QLAX8AUI))

Benefits of becoming a Full Member [here...](https://www.meetup.com/london_cultureseekers/photos/22974682/531979527/)
We will be marking the scores back at the pub/cafe at 4:30pm, so it should all be over by 5:00pm.
Look out for the red & blue 'London Cultureseekers' group sign/flag. If you can't see us, please text.
Look forward to seeing you there!

Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that.
We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders…
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords…
IMPORTANT:
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
Afternoon Board Game Party
Join us at the Pickerington Public Library for an afternoon board game party. This all ages event will meet in the front meeting room, with kids games and light/medium weight adult games for the grown ups. Come and make new friends while playing some favorites like Uno, Carcasonne, Catan, Ticket to Ride, or whatever your favorite games are!
You can bring snacks to this room, and can check out games from the library's game collection.
The Next Chapter: Looking Back, Leaning Forward, A WIA Vision Circle
As we step into a new year, many of us are carrying lessons, practices, and questions shaped by the year behind us.
The Next Chapter: Looking Back, Leaning Forward is a warm, facilitated vision circle designed to help us pause together, reflect on what truly worked, and imagine what we want to carry forward into what comes next.
This is not a talk or presentation.
It’s a small, participatory gathering focused on shared reflection, sense-making, and connection.
**Together, we’ll explore:**
* What supported you over the past year — in your work, leadership, or life
* What you’re ready to leave behind
* What you want next January’s version of yourself to be saying
To support reflection in different ways, we’ll also have optional art materials available for anyone who would like to create a simple artifact for their year — a visual or tactile reminder of what they’re carrying forward.
We’ll provide basic art supplies such as colored pencils, markers, paint pens, and small canvases. If you enjoy working with collage or other media, you’re warmly invited to bring magazines, stickers, or your favorite creative materials to use or share. Participation in the creative portion is completely optional.
You don’t need a plan, goals, or polished answers. Curiosity, honesty, and listening are more than enough.
The intention is for everyone to leave feeling grounded, refreshed, and inspired — with a clearer sense of what matters to them and how we can support one another as a community.
Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience intimate.
⸻
**What to Expect**
* A small, welcoming circle (not a large meetup)
* Structured conversation so everyone has space to speak
* Reflection, listening, and lived experience — not advice-giving
* Optional creative reflection using simple art materials
* A calm, supportive environment
⸻
**Who This Is For**
Women and underrepresented folks working in or around agile, product, technology, leadership, or organizational change — especially those looking for thoughtful conversation and community beyond frameworks and buzzwords.
⸻
**Good to Know**
* No preparation required
* Participation is invitational; listening is always welcome
* Creative activities are optional — you can simply listen and reflect
* You’re welcome to bring your own collage or craft materials if you’d like
* Location details will be shared with registered attendees

DINNER PLAN: The new burger place isn’t open yet but we’ll still try someplace new! And someplace where the cuisine matches the film! Join us immediately following the movie at nearby TAKOREA, located just downstairs and next to the theater! We’ll try to grab the trio of tables just inside the door, which should work perfectly for our group!
MENU: From small plates to tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls, they have a wildly inventive menu that offers a “Korean-Mexican fusion concept” that serves “delicious food that everyone can enjoy!” Popular entrees include tacos, nachos and burritos made with Bulgogi beef, pork carnitas, Korean fried chicken, and even BBQ Tofu, along with traditional sides, chips and a variety of dips. For the vegans in the group, the BBQ Tofu Burrito is listed as “vegan friendly” and that combo of ingredients can be used in just about any entrée! And, if you’re not into Korean food, they have several straight-Mexican options as well! You can check out their menu here: https://www.takoreacbus.com/menu
PARKING: Close, convenient parking is available in the nearby garage (located between 9th and 11th, just off High St). Bring your ticket with you and have it validated at the theater and for $2, you’re covered for the night!
