**Event will happen by default. Usually we have 5 - 10 regular players every week. (They are not on meetup so you won't see the attendee count reflected here) So just come down! If you can't find us, text us at 9199 0946**
When you have reached, the person in charge (likely Daniel or Kai) will arrange a player of your skill level for you to play with. If you haven't played in a long while or are just started learning for awhile, don't worry as there are other beginners and you will be able to play with handicaps.
Most players start streaming in at 7PM onwards but it's ok to be early or later, whichever is more convenient to your timing.
You are free to arrive at any time and leave at any time. Most serious players will play and review their games until 10PM and you are encouraged to do so. If you require a review of your game, you may politely request it from your opponent. We are all here to socialise and build a community around this game.
There may be instances where there is a low visitor count. In such a case, Daniel or Kai will play a game with your personally, so not to worry about a wasted trip.
Please note that this is not a class for learning how to play. You may find our classes on our website @ https://thegoacademy.com.sg.
Most importantly, enjoy and have fun. You may contact us at 9199 0946.
We are open every Wednesday 7PM to 10PM until specifically stated. Join our WhatsApp group when you meet us in person. Do take note that we will not be dropping you a message on meetup to confirm that the event is happening or to liaise with you. The event by default is confirmed to take place every Wednesday.
Also do take note that the main door to Ulu Pandan CC will be closed after 10PM, kindly take the side exit near the inner security counter.

Social chess after work
This is at Asia Square Tower 1 of Citigroup near Downtown MRT.
We'll be at the outdoor lunch tables in the common area near Asia Square Tower 1. Look for people with chess boards.
We are always on, have never missed a Wednesday (except for Covid). Rain, Hail or Shine we are on (under cover). Even public holidays.
Please bring a tournament sized chess board/pieces if you have one, as there is always more people than boards.
This Chess meetup is for all levels of play, open to everyone free of charge regardless of race, gender or age. I will always find you an evenly matched opponent. No one should feel intimidated or embarrassed to play. It's Social Chess!
Look forward to seeing you at the social chess meetup where we'll play some games, go through a famous game and for those interested, have a drink afterwards.
If you're new to chess, come along and we'll have fun going through how the game works
Asia Square Building Management have kindly granted permission to use their tables for this Chess Meetup on the proviso that we are orderly and we return the tables to original configurations after use (taking care not to damage the edge of tables).
We have been featured in the Straits Times.

Fireside Chat & Community Dining
Following the success of the inaugural gathering last month, we are back with another "Fireside Chat & Community Dining" session!
This upcoming session’s topics have been curated based on the feedback and questions raised by participants at the previous instalment. We’ve listened to what matters most to our community group, and we’ve invited moderators to help us dive deeper into these topics.
**📜 AGENDA**
**Part 1: The Fireside Chat 💬🗨️**
We will kick off the evening with four insightful segments designed to inform and empower:
* **Ice Breaker** – Get to know your fellow participants in a relaxed setting. **
* **Supplementary Retirement Scheme (SRS)** – Understanding how to optimize your retirement funds and minimize tax. **
* **NPO & Government Support Measures for Seniors** – Navigating the various schemes available to us. **
* **Health Matters** – Vital tips for maintaining wellness and vitality. **
**Part 2: Community Dinner** 🍽☕
After the fireside chat session, we will take a short 5-minute walk over to aircon food court Kopitiam on the 4th floor of PLQ Mall (next to Paya Lebar MRT Station). This is a great time to continue our conversations, get to know each other better, and enjoy a meal together in a casual, relaxed environment.

Raising Conscious Kids – A Unity Family Experience
At Unity of Columbus, our Youth and Family Ministry nurtures the spiritual growth of children and families through love, joy, and practical spiritual teachings. Each Sunday, children explore timeless spiritual principles through stories, creative activities, music, and group sharing in a safe and welcoming environment.
Our program encourages children to discover their own inner light, express kindness, and develop a personal connection with God. Together, we celebrate diversity, cultivate understanding, and inspire each child to live with purpose and compassion. Parents and families are invited to join in this uplifting journey of learning, laughter, and spiritual connection.
