Music will be performed by Peter Rowan & The Sam Grisman Project Peter Rowan & Sam Grisman are both rooted in early Grateful Dead history. I caught Jerry Garcia’s Old and In the Way in 1973. It was a helluva lot of fun! I have a nice collection of their works. This band will be reviving that wonderful vibe in at this concert. The first concert when I moved to Virginia was with Peter Rowan’s Mexican Airforce. They did a number of Rowan’s numbers and some great Latino tunes, as well. That was a real nice way to kick off my subsequent concert frenzy. Hello piano players: Our next meeting will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 1 – 5 pm at my house, 5612 Cromwell Drive, Bethesda, MD 20816. I will open the doors at 12:30 if you would like to warm up on the piano. I would like to start at 1:00 pm so please show up a few minutes early. Also, reach out to a friend and work up a duet – they are fun and always welcome. In the past we have had duets with two pianos, with singers, and with the clarinet, and they bring a nice variety of music to our meetings. Shale Hollow is a beautiful preserve with about two miles of trail. We will hike it once then turn around and repeat for around 4 miles total. At times we will be next to the stream and there is a section in a prairie. Some elevation but nothing extreme. And then there are the amazing concretions!
