We are organizing this event for people that want to explore their creativity and practice expressing themselves through drawing. The event contains a variety of small games and exercises to connect with others in a fun and original way. A lot of times we find ourselves stuck with a problem or thought, either consciously or unconsciously. Being able to draw or doodle about it can often help. When I felt stuck in life, it gave me a lot of inspiration to draw how I felt. It was always a creative and refreshing way of structuring my problem and looking at it from a different perspective. I’m now looking forward to practicing more of this. I will bring paper and pens, that we need for the exercises. Feel free to bring your own drawing tools (colors, sketchbooks, pencils, etc.). Our tradition is that of Rinzai Zen, our teacher Harada Roshi. Our main practice during the evening is Zazen, seated Meditation practice. Join the group for coffee, a chat and bring your project upstairs in Starbucks on Westmoreland Street from 12-2.30pm (or sometimes longer!). Jugger is a fast paced but easy to pick up sport that is great for beginners. Its like a combination of tag rugby and fencing and is a great way to meet new people and then hit them with a padded stick. Its light contact and the only gear you need to bring is clothing you are comfortable running around in and some water.

Join us for a tour of Brothers Drake Meadery in Grandview, hosted by the owner Oron Benary. He will explain the mead-making process and offer us generous samples of their fine meads. Mead is basically wine that is made from honey instead of grapes. There are many different flavors that range from dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, to sweet. They are best known for their Apple Pie Mead. Oron has offered us a special price of 5.00 each person for the tour and tasting, which is normally 25.00 per person. I've taken the tour several times, and it's always enlightening and fun. Rebecca will bring a tea that will pair well with the mead for a tea tasting afterwards. Park anywhere around the building. Please avoid parking in front of the houses in the neighborhood behind the Meadery. Please keep your RSVP current.
