The role of AI in XR
The role of AI in XR
**About the talk** The vision of Augmented- and Virtual Reality has always been amazing: To make our interaction with technology as natural as our interaction with the real world. Yet, this promise of a truly human-centered interface has so far largely remained unfulfilled and reality fell short of this promise. This is changing. Recent advancements in AI are the critical catalyst we've been waiting for. When fused with modern Extended Reality (XR) systems, AI is finally starting to fulfil these decade old promises. In this session Robert will provide an overview of how AI is changing extended reality with recent examples. **About Robert** [Robert Adelmann's](https://www.linkedin.com/in/robert-adelmann/) cross functional background spans 20 years of innovation in an increasingly merging real and virtual world: From foundational research at ETH and MIT, to start-ups and industry roles ranging from SW engineer and CTO, UX Designer, Head of UX and Augmented Reality, to his current role as Product Manager in Google's Extended Realities (XR / Android XR) organisation. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **💬 The Talk is in English** **📍 \*Note\* The event is happening in a new room \*note\* The event will be held at ETH Zürich Maschinenbau ML, Room F34** *We kindly ask you to arrive 10 minutes early of the event start, so everyone can find a seat due to high attendance. Swimming in the Limmat
Swimming in the Limmat
Hello dear Challengers, if you wish to join the Limmat swim and strengthen your body, join me to that swim. I will give you a short introduction on the "why" you should do it and then you will tell me if you want to do it. I am a trained lifeguard (SLRG), I did also the Hypothermia Module and I am swimming in the cold since 2015. Take with you all the necessary to swim, flip/flop, safe buoy (something like the orange donut here below, if you have it) and a Thermos. https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/a/a/7/5/600_466843637.jpeg See you there! Mama cacao, Mindful experience. A Ritual for soulful connections.
Mama cacao, Mindful experience. A Ritual for soulful connections.
Recent research shows that meaningful human connections are a fundamental pillar of health and longevity. Studies consistently link strong social bonds with lower stress, reduced inflammation, and a longer, healthier life—highlighting that beyond diet and exercise, the quality of our relationships plays a decisive role in our overall well-being. This gathering is an invitation to nurture what science now recognizes as essential: authentic human connection. Twice a year, under the full moon, Mama Cacao opens an intimate circle at Kraftwerk Zürich. A carefully curated experience where ceremonial cacao, conscious connection, live music, and plant-based cuisine come together to create space for real encounters. This is not networking. This is remembering how to meet — slowly, honestly, and from the heart. Participants are guided through a cacao circle and meditation, conscious sharing, and small-group conversations, from gentle openings to deeper, more vulnerable exchanges. Live music flows throughout the evening, guided by JKson, accompanied by Facu (percussion & charango) and Diogo (keys), creating a living soundscape that supports presence and expression. An Open Heart Mic moment invites a few voices to share songs born from truth rather than performance. The evening then unfolds naturally around a vegan buffet prepared by Nomads Zürich, allowing connections to deepen freely over food and conversation. Held in an intimate setting of 10 to 25 participants, this experience is ideal for anybody looking to meet new, like-minded people: expats, newcomers to Zürich, creatives, artists, leaders, professionals, and curious souls seeking meaningful connection in a safe and refined space. ### What to Expect * Intimate circle * Guided cacao ceremony, meditation, and conscious sharing * Guided group conversations, unfolding from ease and curiosity into honest depth * Live music and conscious jam throughout the evening * Open Heart Mic for heartfelt songs * Vegan buffet by Nomads Zürich * Safe, inclusive, yet exclusive space for presence and connection ### Who It's For * Local residents of Switzerland who wish to rediscover the art of connecting beyond the superficial * Foodies, good food lovers * Expats and newcomers to Zürich * Creatives, artists, and musicians * Professionals, conscious leaders, and entrepreneurs * Curious souls seeking authentic human connection ### Event Details **February 1, 2026 – Love & BondsLocation:** Kraftwerk Zürich **Time:** Sunday, 17:30 – 21 **Participants:** 10–25 For those who wish to participate in the Open Heart Mic, please bring everything you need, and if you have any questions, reach us at **[info@mama-cacao.ch](mailto:info@mama-cacao.ch)**. The food will be vegan. If you have any allergies, please let us know as soon as possible by writing to **[info@mama-cacao.ch](mailto:info@mama-cacao.ch)**. ### What to Bring: ### Your Presence Matters To fully embrace this intimate gathering, we invite you to bring more than objects—bring your heart, your curiosity, and your willingness to connect. **Bring with you:** * **An open mind** – Release expectations and judgments. Allow yourself to explore the evening as it unfolds. * **A warm heart** – Be ready to listen, share, and support others with genuine care. * **Curiosity and courage** – Step into conversations you might not usually have; allow vulnerability to guide you. * **Your authentic self** – No roles, no performance—just your truth, however it may appear. * **A willingness to connect deeply** – Be prepared to engage with new people, share stories, and embrace moments of real human presence. * **Playfulness and openness** – Bring lightness to balance depth; laughter, smiles, and small gestures are welcome. **Optional, but powerful:** * **Your song, story, poem, or voice** – If the moment calls for it, step into the Open Heart Mic and share something from your soul. **Additional items to bring:** * A water bottle to stay hydrated * An offering for the cacao spirits (flowers, tobacco, nuts, seeds, or fruits) * Dress to feel **connected and comfortable** Please fast for at least two hours before the gathering to deepen your connection. Step into this sacred space, and allow the vibrations of prayer, music, and movement to guide you toward unity, self-expression, and profound healing. ### Important Health Information If you are taking antidepressants, have a serious heart condition, are pregnant, have high blood pressure, epilepsy, or any other medical concerns, please contact us before the event. ### Meet the Facilitators **Nomads Zürich**Nomads creates food as a space for connection. Rooted in plant-based cuisine, we work with respect for origin, craftsmanship, and the natural rhythm of ingredients. Our menus are shaped by intuition, experience, and curiosity — simple yet expressive, honest and layered. We see food not just as nourishment, but as part of a shared moment, supporting presence, exchange, and meaningful gatherings. Nomads curates thoughtful culinary experiences for events where quality, intention, and atmosphere matter. **JKson**JKson hails from Argentina, with deep roots in the native cultures of the Andes and the Peruvian Amazon. He is a musician and producer blending natural sounds, native voices, and electronic elements. His work spans from healing music to deep techno with world music influences, creating immersive soundscapes that bridge tradition and modernity. COLD WATER PLUNGE
COLD WATER PLUNGE
Welcome cold lovers! We have been practising cold water plunges for over 4 years. We believe in the benefits of cold water exposure. The feeling you get after the swim is magnificent, it makes you feel alive. We have started this group to safely experience the cold water together. We motivate each other, do active warmup exercises, and also share our life stories with a warm coffee/tea afterwards. The event is every Sunday at 11:30, we meet at the Mythenquai Badi entrance no matter the weather. Take along: a large towel, comfortable bathing suit, flip-flops, and warm clothes (hat, gloves, etc). If you’re planning swimming out take along a bright swim buoy. The event is Free. IMPORTANT: Every participant takes responsibility for themselves when attending this event. Before attempting cold water exposure, individuals with health conditions (e.g., heart problems or hypertension) should seek advice from a healthcare professional. Safely acclimating the body to cold temperatures requires preparation and gradual exposure.

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Compensation Data
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Compensation Data
**People Analytics 101: Making Sense of Compensation Data** Compensation data is one of the most widely used and widely misunderstood forms of people analytics. The session will cover where compensation data comes from, including market pricing data, internal payroll data, and benchmarking sources, and how companies think about structuring and analyzing that information. We will explore how compensation data is leveraged to set salary ranges, manage internal equity, support hiring and retention, and align pay with business strategy. A portion of the session will address common data challenges and limitations, such as market noise, inconsistent job matching, and incomplete datasets, while keeping the primary focus on practical use rather than technical depth. The session will also look ahead at where the space is going, including the growing impact of pay transparency laws, expanding pay equity requirements, and emerging regulations in the US and Europe that require organizations to report on gender and pay gaps. The goal is to give attendees a clear mental model for how compensation analytics works today and why getting it right is becoming increasingly critical. (note: we are back at Rev1 this month!) **About Our Speaker** [Alex Moore](https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexscottmoore/) is the founder of [Moore Cooperative](https://moorecooperative.com/), where he advises organizations on compensation strategy, pay equity, and people analytics. His work focuses on helping organizations like the Ohio Supreme Court design, analyze, and communicate compensation systems that are data-informed, defensible, and aligned with organizational goals.
