We will share our work, wrestle with the discipline of writing honestly, and encourage one another to write not for applause but as an offering. Bring a piece you are working on, or come simply to listen and be stirred. Writing for the Christian is never merely self-expression. It is a kind of martyria (Latin testimonium) — from the Greek martys, witness; the same root that gives us “martyr.” To write truthfully is to bear witness, and witness always costs something.
