🏡 Wessex Estate & dinner with live music 🎶🪇
Our trail begins in what feels like a hidden English village, tucked away in Singapore yet worlds apart from the city. This quiet neighbourhood whispers stories of the colonial era, with its iconic black-and-white houses, leafy lanes, and timeless calm. As we stroll through its streets—each one named after faraway English towns—you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a different place and era altogether. 🏡🌿🕰️
From this glimpse of the past, we’ll step forward into the future, where glass towers and bold architecture rise amid green spaces and winding paths. The contrast is striking—old-world charm giving way to a modern hub of innovation and creativity. 🚶♂️🏙️🌳
As evening falls, we’ll round off the adventure with an optional dinner at an urban food park alive with flavours and live music! 🎶 🪇🥂😄🍹
**This is a free community walk, created simply for the joy of exploring togethe**r. **To keep the spirit of the walk genuine and relaxed, we don’t involve donations, promotions, or sales of any kind. We warmly ask everyone to be punctual and considerate of fellow walkers, so that the journey remains smooth and enjoyable for all. The 'going' list may not necessarily follow a strict sequence. 🔄**
-
To protect your privacy, we do not collect telephone numbers 📵. Communication will be through the Event chat. Kindly check for any updates, especially on the day of the event. The route may be amended or the hike postponed in the event of inclement weather, for the safety of our walkers. 🚶🚶♂
*Disclaimer: By joining this walk, you assume responsibility for your own safety and well-being 🚸, and will not hold the organizers/hosts liable for any loss or injury or other unforeseen events, ensuring a shared commitment to a safe and enjoyable experience for all. 😊 Thank you.

Volunteer Opportunity
Open Shelter has teamed up again with Red White and Boom! Friday, July 3rd & we are looking for volunteers to run the event’s alcohol booths. Proceeds from sales go to the Open Shelter’s organization.
There are two available shifts: 12-6p & 5-11p.
There will be an ipad-like device to process transactions in addition to cash. Everything will be in bottles or cans, so transactions should be very easy. Must be 21+.
There are multiple beverage stations along the Civic Center Bridge. The stations are covered and also have beverage trucks next to them, so volunteers can cool off in the trucks.
As far as parking, it is suggested those who are coming from the east use the Columbus Commons Garage, and those from the west use the Belle Street Garage.
Harry from the Open Shelter will be your contact.
