East Coast Park Walk
Meet: Marine Terrace (TE27) Passenger Service Centre
When: Thursday 7 May, 5 pm\*\*
\*\*This is a Rain or Shine event. Please take a good lunch or bring along some snacks if you feel hungry along the way. Our walks are usually between 8 - 12 km long. Just so you know, the weather may be hot but as the sun sets, the weather should be cooler.
Please be punctual. You are encouraged to be slightly early to avoid disappointments. There will be 5 minutes grace for attendance taking. Please remember that we cannot wait because this would be unfair to those already present.
This Meetup group is a community-led group by volunteers. Please extend grace in areas of inadequacy. You are most welcome to give constructive feedback; we strive for improvement!
The 185-hectare (460-acre) East Coast Park is the largest park in Singapore, and is built entirely on [reclaimed land](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reclaimed_land) with a man-made [beach](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beach), where swimming is possible. The beach is protected by [breakwaters](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakwater_(structure)).
The city’s most popular stretch of beach always buzzes with activity – even when it’s not playing host to the wide spectrum of sporting events that grace its shores regularly, like the Singapore Marathon and Xtreme Championship.
Join us as we walk the East Coast Park! Enjoy the beach, the breeze, the scenery, and each other's company :-))
We will end at the Kallang Wave Mall for dinner :-)
See you there! :-)

Scorpions' Trail Night UV Adventures & Hike - UV Fluorescence World
𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀? ► **[Click here to WA](http://wa.link/j2at9z)**
**Pay to go, ignore waitlist, min 6**
Join us to hike & explore this exciting night adventure where scorpions 🦂 are 99.9 % easily spotted under UV. With normal powerful torchlight, you still have challenges spotting them as the forest gets pitch dark.
With UV, there's no need to hunt for them high and low,🦂 as they are active at night and the UV will easily show you, even from a few meters away! 😱. We had ever found 7 of them on a single tree. When a special UV frequency light is used, every creature that fluorescence suddenly appears everywhere in a different colour. ❨as shown in the above & latest pic below❩.
Common creatures sighted were wild boars, mouse-deer, various weird-looking types of 🕷️🕸️, bats, giant ants, termites & moths etc. Bonuses are 🐍, sambar deer etc. Glowing mushrooms & fireflies have been spotted on this trail - with sharp eyes. Other than 🦂, many plants, and fungi also have fluorescence under UV like chlorophyll, lichens, carnivorous plants like pitchers etc.
📷 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀 with 𝗻𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀. We discourage using any tricks to lure them for photos. We DO NOT bush-bash or go off the path, we stay 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 that is still open after 7 pm.
⛔️ Please have the basic courtesy to ask for permission before downloading the photos freely. Thank you!

𝗙𝗹𝘂𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
Many arthropods (insects, spiders, and relatives) have a secret: they glow under ultraviolet light. Scorpions and some relatives produce a blue-green glow via fluorescence. Under ultraviolet light, molecules in their exoskeleton absorb and re-emit UV as visible light.
𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 is the production & emission of light by a living organism. It is a form of chemiluminescence. Bioluminescence occurs widely in marine vertebrates and invertebrates, as well as in some fungi, and microorganisms, including some bioluminescent bacteria, and terrestrial arthropods such as fireflies.
The most famous bioluminescent species on land are glowworms and fireflies.
𝙒𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 & 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙉𝙊 𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙙. 𝘼𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩. Spotting bioluminescent mushrooms is usually the hardest, as most would miss them if they were not dark enough to spot their glowing colour.

Version Control for Unity
This meetup is a beginner-friendly session introducing version control for Unity projects, with a look at three common tools: Git, Perforce, and Unity Version Control. The goal is to help you understand what version control is, why it matters for Unity development, and what options are out there.
The format will likely be presentation-style, with live demos and time for questions throughout. You'll see each tool in action and learn how they fit into a Unity workflow.
What to Expect:
* An introduction to version control and why it's essential for Unity projects
* An overview of Git, Perforce, and Unity Version Control
* Demos of each tool in a Unity workflow
* Tips for getting started
* No prior version control experience required
* Resources for continued learning
All experience levels are welcome. Whether you're new to version control or already using one of these tools, this session will help you understand what each one offers.
Food and drinks provided. Join us to learn more about version control options for Unity.
