All ages...ALL skills welcome. All club members/players get 25% of food purchases !!! Come play some chess, make friends, eat, and have a great time playing 'The Game Of Kings'. They also have an outside area, where members can play in, once the weather gets warmer.
Remember, the chess is free, the venue isn't. So please patronize the host. How can you not...at 25% off !!! The discount is applied to those sitting and playing a game. This will prevent people walking in, saying they're a member, and walking out after making a purchase. Bruno's is playing this by ear. Also, understand, Bruno's is the our ONLY venue offering our members this deal.
Let me see, the penne a la vodka with two meatballs is DELICIOUS. That's my go to. The sandwiches are huge. Also delicious. Nice variety of baked deserts. Hard to not stuff my face every time I go. I've gotten a lot of the members onto the pasta. They all acknowledge it's very very good.
We have sets, but if you can bring your own...its never bad to have extras.
We're currently over 500 adult members. It's close to 600 adult members if we include our members in the 'Boardgame Division'. No idea how many kids. Join the group on Facebook, under the same name. Answer the membership questions, and agree to the group rules, so you won't be surprised when you're declined...because you DIDN'T answer the membership questions and agree to the group rules.
Looking forward to meeting all the new members and players from that part of town.
Friday nights we're at Joe's Pizza. for a chess event.
We added 'OJ Macs', but they're on hold until spring now, as it's gotten too cold and we used to play in their spacious back area. Mom and Pop Shop Collectibles have been added to the schedule on Saturdays from 6pm to 10pm. That's a 'Combo all games Event'.
On nice days we have Sunday Outdoor Chess at Morris Park on 47th and Broadway. As of October 21 we won't be ending it, because its too cold. We'll pick up again next Spring.
We also have Combo Nights at 'The Vic'. Those are on Monday nights. They purchased their own sets for customers to use whenever they want. Combo nights is boardgames & chess being played. Bring whatever boardgame you want, and go at it. We usually have Scrabble, Uno, Skip Bo, Dominoes, Life ...just to name a few. So, don't miss out on a good time...and some good food and drink.

Chess at The Hugh restaurant hall
The Hugh is an indoor restaurant hall with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from.
The Chess group sits at the tables in front of the Pesce Lulu restaurant stand, where we get a 10% discount (mention the chess).
This event is run by my good friend Sam and is named "Knight's Brigade", which you can find on Instagram. Usually about 15 - 20 players are present - many more than those who RSVP here.
All skill levels are welcome, but not that this group skews to the intermediate - advanced range.
This is a completely free event.

Social Chess & Tournament at The Living Room at Pier 57 (indoor restaurant hall)
This event is being run by my friend John. You can RSVP to either or both of our meetups. John's page has more info about a casual tournament he's running during the event.
The "Living Room" is a large indoor space of lots of tables and sofas just past the food hall, which contains lots of restaurants and bars to choose from.
Walk past the restaurants, look for us at the semi-circle table (see picture above) in "The Living Room" area. If you hit "El Bar", you've gone too far!

Afternoon of Board Games @ Crowne Plaza, Saddle Brook
Setting up weekly afternoons of games at the Crowne Plaza (50 Kenny Pl.) in Saddle Brook at 2.30pm.
Everyone is welcome whether you’re a casual player, an avid player or simply want to start learning something new. We teach, we learn, we play. Typical games played (but not limited to): Hues and Cues, Wingspan, 7 Wonders, Camel Up, Dixit, Splendor, Catan.
* **Date:** Every Sunday
* **Time:** 2:30 to 6:30pm

We, usually, play on the 12th floor of the hotel at their Sky Restaurant & Bar **BUT** sometimes we are on the 2nd floor. When in doubt, **stay in the lobby** and wait for the event host to comment where exactly we are playing.
* **RSVP:** Please RSVP by each Sunday afternoon (and/or have it updated since it helps us with the tables and picking the right games). Please have it updated if it needs to change.
* **FAQs/Link:** [http://bit.ly/FnG-SunEvtDetails-v20210512](http://bit.ly/FnG-SunEvtDetails-v20210512) (a bit out of date, crazy @ work, will update asap)
We like to start the first game by 2.45 and depending on the group size we’ll have multiple games. The event hosts will bring games but you are welcomed to bring your favorite board games too!

An in person event in Queens at the new location of the Queens LGBT Center. 35-11 35th Avenue, in the Astoria section. Directions are below.
Online info at www.lgbtnetwork.org
We'll have some fun and play games. So let's do this in person, like we used to before Covid. Masks are optional.
Directions - nearest stop is Steinway Street on the M and R trains. From out of Queens, get out at the rear exit at the back of the train. From in Queens, get out at the front exit. When you reach the street, walk straight ahead, don't turn. Go to 35th Avenue and turn right. You will pass several places to eat, including Subway, Panera Bread and Applebees. Go a couple of blocks further. Look for the LGBT network signs across the street from the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts. Enter and see the receptionist. You will check in with your cell phone.
You can also take the N or W trains to 36th Avenue. Walk from there to 35th Ave and turn right. It's about four blocks, give or take.
If you RSVP and discover you cannot attend, change your RSVP to NO.
There will be snacks and beverages available. Space is limited. Join us. You'll have a gay old time.
Monthly Weekend Afternoon Boardgaming at Cobblestones (February 2026)
\*\* In order to support Cobblestones for letting us use their space, there is a $15 minimum food/drink order per person.\*\*
The monthly weekend meetup at Cobblestones is back!
This is where we tend to stay longer & play more games than our weekly get-together. The next one will be on Saturday February 28, 2026.
Join us for our awesome Weekend Boardgaming Meetup at Cobblestone's pub! We start around noon & usually stay until the early evening. We're a friendly group of gamers that play everything from Codenames & Ticket to Ride to Blood Rage & Agricola! Everyone is welcome - all ages (must be over 21) but must be young at heart!
If you don't recognize the games, don't worry, everyone is happy to teach new players the rules. And feel free to bring your own board games if you wish. Between all of us, there's usually a large selection of games to choose from.
If you're looking for a chill, fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon - come join us!
In order to support our awesome, not-too-loud venue, each person must purchase something to eat or a few drinks.
**Again, there is a $15 minimum per person.**
***
We always welcome new people & we're all here to have fun, but we do have a few ground rules that we ask everyone to be aware of:
* Treat everyone in the group with respect & do not discriminate. Some of us "trash talk" when we play, but it's all in good fun & in the spirit of gaming.
* This is a restaurant/bar so accidents are bound to happen. However, if you're responsible for ruining someone else's game by spilling a beverage or food on it, the right thing to do is to offer to purchase a new copy for them. Some of the games we bring are out of print so please treat every board game with respect.
* If a game is accidentally ruined by a staff member, everyone at the table should pitch in to buy a new one for the owner. More often than not, this comes to about $10/person or less, so in our opinion it isn't too much to ask for.
We look forward to seeing you there!
