Day DJ is a weekly series at Villa Vida Café where local DJs take over the space and share their sound in a daytime setting. The series focuses on new talent, experimentation, and community. It creates a low-pressure environment where DJs can develop ideas, shape their sound, and connect with people through music. The format is intentionally relaxed and accessible. Visitors are welcome to come by to listen, work, meet friends, have coffee, or stay for the entire set. Day DJ aims to create an ongoing platform where local DJs can grow their practice while contributing to Vienna’s queer and underground music culture. DJ teufling DJ teufling brings a high-energy selection moving through bounce, trance, techno, acid, and Latin-inspired sounds. Expect fast-paced rhythms ranging from 135–165 BPM, mixed with playful 2000s influences and unexpected connections between genres. DJs have always played an important role in queer culture. In spaces where queer people were excluded or unsafe, DJs helped create environments where identity, expression, connection, and experimentation could exist. Many of the foundations of modern nightlife — including house, disco, and club culture — emerged from queer communities, especially Black and Latinx scenes.
