Please contact me if you want to join the class. Добрый день! This class is for learners with a level B1 or higher. We will learn Russian rock songs and do exercises and discussions based on them. We will use the book Russian rock and Russian Grammar. We will meet one time per week. Below is an information about the class. Cost: 2 students 35 chf per hour, 3 or more student 25 chf per hour per person. Class Length: 1 hour Class structure: • We read a text or a chapter from a book, discuss new words. We learn part of grammar and practice using it. • After that we discuss the topic and answer the text follow-up questions. • I also give homework tasks to make sentences with new words or do a grammar exercises. • If we finish the exercises earlier, we play word games or have a free chat. Also gehen wir "eine Türe weiter" in die Archäologische Sammlung der Uni-Zürich. Dort warten jede Menge Abgüsse historischer Statuen um von uns gezeichnet zu werden. Das passt gut, denn in der Graphischen Sammlung der ETH Zürich eröffnet gerade eine spannende neue Ausstellung: «Gletscher & Stromschnellen. Gezeichnete Schweiz um 1800». Gezeigt werden Werke aus dem reichen Bestand an Schweizer Handzeichnungen des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts, darunter Aquarelle, Gouachen, Studien und wissenschaftlich geprägte Darstellungen der Alpen. Die Ausstellung zeigt, wie das Bild der Schweiz um 1800 geprägt wurde – mit Gletschern, Gebirgslandschaften und dramatischen Naturmotiven, die auch heute noch stark wirken. Bei gutem Wetter können wir stattdessen aber auch draussen zeichnen, beispielsweise auf der Polyterrasse mit einem Blick über die Altstadt. And since the first Sunday of the month falls on Easter Sunday this time, we will meet on Saturday instead. That works out rather well, because the Graphische Sammlung at ETH Zurich is opening an intriguing new exhibition: “Glaciers & Rapids. Drawn Switzerland around 1800.” It presents works from its rich holdings of 18th and 19th century Swiss drawings, including watercolours, gouaches, studies and scientifically informed depictions of the Alps. The exhibition explores how the visual image of Switzerland was shaped around 1800, through glaciers, mountain scenery and dramatic natural subjects that still resonate today. For sketchers, this promises compelling lines, tonal values, compositions and the question of how landscape can be staged through drawing. If the weather is fine, however, we can also draw outdoors instead, for example on the Polyterrasse with a view over the old town. In any case, we’ll meet indoors in front of the entrance to the Graphic Collection exhibition. Enjoy shopping throughout the city, or take a scenic bike ride through the countryside. Cycling in Amsterdam is the most authentic way to travel. There are around 515 km (320 miles) of dedicated cycle lanes in Amsterdam, making it the perfect setting to cycle the city or beyond. The countryside area is famous for its quaint villages, historic towns, farms, nature reserves, and lakes. You will have many opportunities to stop and take one-of-a-kind photos of the picturesque sights. **Day 4 – April 10** – Your group will spend today at the famous Keukenhof Garden, known as the Garden of Europe. This is one of the world’s largest flower gardens and is found to be the most beautiful in spring. Keukenhof Park covers an area of 32 hectares and has approximately 7 million flower bulbs planted annually. Make sure to have your camera ready to capture all of the vibrant colors and unique displays at the Keukenhof Garden! Transfer from Amsterdam to begin your adventure in The Hauge as the fun continues. **Day 5 – April 11** – Begin your day with a walking tour of the Hague! Today you will visit notable sites include Binnenhof Court of Parliament, the Royal Palace Noordeinde and its lush gardens, and many local monuments. Have a free afternoon to explore on your own before joining your group to indulge in a delectable group dinner. **Day 6 – April 12** – Day trip to Delft for a walking tour of this charming and historic Dutch town. Stroll along picturesque canals, cobbled streets, and tree-lined squares as you explore landmarks such as the Markt, the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), and the Royal Delft pottery factory. Admire the town’s rich artistic heritage, famously tied to painter Johannes Vermeer, and soak in the tranquil atmosphere that defines Delft’s small-town charm. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local café before returning by train to your accommodation in The Hague. **Day 7 – April 13** – Depart The Hague via train for your return to Amsterdam. We’re still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches. These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome.
