Mid-Week Service
## **Mid-Week Service: Renew Your Spirit**
Join us every **Wednesday evening at 6:15 PM** for our Mid-Week Service, a dedicated time to pause, pray, and recharge in the middle of a busy week. Held in an intimate and welcoming setting, this service is designed to help you reconnect with God and find peace through His Word.
### **What to Expect**
* **Deep Biblical Teaching:** We move beyond the surface, engaging in verse-by-verse studies of Scripture—such as our current journey through the **Book of Acts**—to gain practical wisdom for daily life.
* **Community Prayer:** We believe in the power of collective intercession. Each week, we lift up the needs of our families, our city, and the world.
* **Heartfelt Worship:** A time of singing and reflection to center our hearts on the presence of the Holy Spirit.
* **Authentic Fellowship:** Connect with a supportive community of believers who are walking the same path of faith.
Whether you are looking for a deeper understanding of theology or simply a quiet place to sit at the feet of Jesus, our mid-week gathering offers the spiritual nourishment you need to finish your week with strength and purpose.

DIY Hours at Del Ray Shop
This is an opportunity for volunteers to support a professional mechanic as he guides customers working on their own bikes. If you know how to do some basic repairs, that's a plus, but even if you don't, you can greet customers and manage who gets helped next. Feel free to attend for only a portion of the time if you can't be there the whole three hours.
Please note that this event is not usually an opportunity to learn about bicycle repair, since the mechanic tends to be very busy helping customers, especially during the warmer months. But it's a great way to contribute to Velocity, since almost all the funding for the volunteer program comes from the work done at the shops.
AM Sweatshop
Join us for this fun, effective cardio workout that combines several different workout methods including aerobics, bodyweight strength training, and plyometrics! Enjoy a high-energy group environment as you improve your strength and cardiovascular endurance. Level: All.

The 3% Advantage
**The 3% Advantage**
**Why Only a Few Leaders Truly Stand Out — and How to Become One of Them**
**FREE 1\-hour interactive webinar \| Leadership\, Positioning & Growth**
\*\*\*
**Join Dr Edward Klinger and learn why:**
Most capable professionals and business leaders never truly stand out.
Not because they lack talent, experience, or ambition —
but because they operate without a clear system for differentiation.
In crowded markets, competence is no longer enough.
The real challenge is clarity.
This session is for people who are tired of blending in — and want to understand what the top 3% do differently.
Join Dr Edward Klinger for a practical, insight-driven webinar that explores why only a small minority of leaders consistently stand out, attract opportunity, and command attention — and what it actually takes to join them.
\*\*\*
**What you’ll learn**
* Why most professionals and businesses become indistinguishable
* The hidden cost of “professional sameness”
* The 3 concrete actions you can take immediately to begin standing out
* How clarity, consistency, and leadership decisions create long-term advantage
* Why tactics alone don’t work without an underlying system
This is not a motivational talk.
And it’s not a marketing hack session.
It’s about positioning, leadership clarity, and intentional growth.
\*\*\*
**Who this is for**
* Business owners and founders
* Executives and senior leaders
* Consultants, coaches, and professional service providers
* Anyone who feels capable but under-recognised
* Leaders who want to stop reacting and start designing their direction
If you know you’re good at what you do — but struggle to articulate it clearly, consistently, or confidently — this session will be highly relevant.
\*\*\*
You’ll leave with:
* Clear insight into why standing out is so rare
* Practical actions you can apply immediately
* A deeper understanding of the system behind sustained differentiation
\*\*\*
Free to attend. Limited spaces.
Stop blending in.
Start operating with intent — like the 3%

From DC to the Diaspora: African Liberation Day and the Struggle for Power
This Assata Shakur Popular Education session, in conjunction with the Black Alliance for Peace-DC, will explore the history and political significance of African Liberation Day as a global expression of Pan-African unity, anti-colonial struggle, and Black self-determination. Together we will examine how liberation movements across Africa and the African Diaspora challenged colonialism, imperialism, and political repression while building movements rooted in collective power and international solidarity. The session will also connect these struggles to present-day conditions facing Black working-class communities in Washington, D.C., including displacement, disenfranchisement, and the fight for community control.
*Food will be provided!*
The ASPE are hybrid sessions with the option to participate via Zoom. **To join via Zoom use this link [https://tinyurl.com/africansstudy](https://tinyurl.com/africansstudy "https://tinyurl.com/africansstudy")**

Surrounded by a vibrant canopy, this section of the AT is a great place to enjoy the outdoors with a group of like-minded friends. We’ll head south on the AT to the Whiskey Hollow Shelter, where there are plenty of campsites and reliable water sources to set up for the night. There is also an older shelter nearby (Dick’s Dome).
