!ENGLISH! MONDAY DOUBLE SESSION / CAFE - Philosophy Meetup: 19:30h - 21h
!ENGLISH! MONDAY DOUBLE SESSION / CAFE - Philosophy Meetup: 19:30h - 21h
Hi and welcome to our next Socrates Café philosophy meetup! Do you have a hunger for deeper understanding of yourself and the world? Do you value deep, honest and respectful dialogue? If yes, then this meetup will be very interesting for you. • WHAT IS A MEETUP ABOUT? We ask, answer and discuss questions and ideas to stimulate critical thinking and to widen our perspectives with new concepts and thoughts. The main purpose of these meetups is to enrich ourselves with the perspectives of others, not to convince others about our own perspectives. Our meetups are about our own philosophies of life and not necessarily what the great philosophers and academics have said or written. It is not a debating club or a platform for proselytizing. Instead, we place the emphasis on questioning, open mindedness and challenging our own assumptions while listening to and respecting the views shared by others. A Socrates Café meetup is considered a success when participants leave a discussion with many more questions than they had at the beginning. • WHAT TOPIC IS DISCUSSED AT THE MEETUP? Participants suggest topics at the beginning of each meeting. We then vote and choose that event's most popular topic for discussion. No academic training in philosophy necessary; just enthusiasm for exchanging ideas and points of view. Some examples of subjects chosen on previous meetups: * What ideals are worth dying for? * Why are we never satisfied? * Why is it that human beings know that the society is going wrong, leaders are well informed about it and things continue as is? * Is identity necessary? * How can it be that people in democratic societies are so obsessed with power? (Desire to be different, better, stronger than others) * What is friendship? • WHO PARTICIPATES AT THIS MEETUP? Anybody is more than welcome to join our meetups. Our events gather people from different backgrounds, different cultures, while no philosophical background is mandatory. Our usual participants are people that have a hunger for deeper understanding of themselves and the world. People that value deep, honest and respectful dialogue. The inspiration for Socrates Cafe originates with the book of the same name, written by the philosopher Christopher Phillips. (Socrates Cafe: A Fresh Taste of Philosophy, 2002). Phillips felt that the Socratic method of dialogue and discussion should be practiced not just in academic settings, but among everyday people interested in examining deep questions together. Hundreds of Socrates Cafe groups now exist around the world. MISfits - Monday Improv School
MISfits - Monday Improv School
Barcelona's newest improv adventure starts now. Every week, Matt and Noah will host an evening of improv fun and games at Flaherty's in the Gothic Quarter. The evening begins at 19:30 where participants will meet, sign in, and grab a beverage. At 20:00, we will have a focused, 1-hour workshop set at an intermediate level to work on one aspect of improvisation (e.g. characters, cooperation, physicality). We'll then have a short break for bathrooms, food, and/or beverages followed by an improv jam at 21:15. No experience is necessary to play in the jam and it's okay to just watch. Come for the workshop or the jam, all are welcome on this island of misfit toys. Both events are donation based.
Reforestation project in Brazil with Tito Garcez
Reforestation project in Brazil with Tito Garcez
**Reforestation project in Brazil** Come to join us for a **presentation and discussion** about the **reforestation and protection of one of the world's most threatened biodiversity** **hotspots** \- the Atlantic Forest in Brazil\. “Tito Garcez is a **Brazilian conservationist** and the **founder of Instituto Santuário da Mata**, a non-profit organization focused on **protecting and restoring the Atlantic Forest in northeastern Brazil**. Originally trained in tourism, Garcez pivoted toward environmentalism after living in Patagonia, Argentina, where he realized the importance of living harmoniously with nature. Upon returning home, he witnessed the severe disappearance of local forests and wildlife, which inspired him to **launch long-term initiatives centered on biodiversity conservation**, **ecological restoration** and **environmental education**. Today, he successfully blends his background by **promoting wildlife watching** and **nature-based tourism** to foster an **appreciation for the environment** while **financially and socially supporting conservation efforts**. Through his institute, Garcez **actively collaborates with local communities**, **universities, researchers, and volunteers to protect threatened species and restore vital forest habitats**. He strongly emphasizes building bridges between grassroots communities and global environmental organizations. His current visit to Europe stems from relationships built with international volunteers and researchers, and he aims to use this trip to strengthen global partnerships, secure **expanded support for his conservation projects, encourage scientific research, and foster new international collaborations**. The **Instituto Santuário da Mata** operates in **Sergipe, Brazil**, managing a private **nature reserve recognized by UNESCO** as part of the **Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve**. The organization targets the protection of critical, highly threatened biodiversity hotspots by combining ecological restoration with deep community engagement. Its primary initiatives include monitoring endangered wildlife, such as the Coimbra Filho's titi monkey and the maned sloth, reforesting degraded areas, creating wildlife corridors, and hosting international volunteers and educational programs. Ultimately, the institute seeks to build bridges with European universities and organizations to exchange conservation strategies, foster scientific research, and share the unique cultural richness of northeastern Brazil. **We will discuss:** \- ecological restauration and the creation of ecological corridors to reconnect fragmented forest areas \- protection and monitoring of endangered species \- wild life observation tourism as a tool for conservation and sustainable local development \- community\-based conservation experiences \- exchange of experiences between conservation initiatives in Brazil and Europe **VIDEO:** [The Forest Is Returning | Restoring Brazil’s Atlantic Forest](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OosHkD59q5E) **Santuario Da Mata**: www.santuariodamata.org **IG:** @santuariodamata **Proyecto de reforestación en Brasil** Te invitamos a unirte a nosotros en una **presentación y debate** sobre la **reforestación y la protección de uno de los puntos calientes de biodiversidad más amenazados del mundo**: la Selva Atlántica de Brasil. Tips to become a 100X developer with Dark Factory and Compound Engineering
**Tips and practical aspects to become a 100× developer with Dark Factory and Compound Engineering** A one-hour session on the Pier07 terrace — practical tips on Dark Factory and Compound Engineering, the evening before the full workshop. **What this session is** We are planning a focused, hands-on Schwartz edition for a small group. Before we lock the format, we need to know who is interested — please spread the word within your team and tell us if you would like to join. Practical tips on becoming a 100× developer with agentic workflows Dark Factory and Compound Engineering — what works in real teams Dark Factory & Compound Engineering Two ideas behind this session — in plain terms. **Dark Factory** Agents run the software lifecycle behind deterministic gates — specs, builds, tests, and review loops — while you steer intent, rules, and verification instead of every line of code. **Compound Engineering** Each cycle makes the next one easier: you capture learnings in instruction files, evaluators, and gates so the system gets measurably smarter — not more chaotic — every time agents run. **more details at:** [https://easyspecs.ai/labs/dark-factory-terrace-session-barcelona ](https://easyspecs.ai/labs/dark-factory-terrace-session-barcelona )

🍺 Agentic Coding Meetup — Devs & Drinks
No slides. No speaker. No agenda. Just developers talking shop over a cold one. This is an informal gathering for engineers, founders, and builders who are deep in the agentic coding trenches — using tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, OpenCode, or rolling their own agent pipelines. Come swap what's actually working, what blew up in production, and what you're excited about right now. We'll be at Barcelona, and the format is simple: show up, grab a drink, and share what you know. Bring a laptop if you want to show something, but it's not required. WhatsApp Group: [https://chat.whatsapp.com/GVS0bHMPIzID3Ch9lt6YsU?mode=gi_t](https://chat.whatsapp.com/GVS0bHMPIzID3Ch9lt6YsU?mode=gi_t) **What we talk about (but not limited to):** \*Agentic coding workflows and tooling * Prompt engineering & context engineering in practice \*Multi-agent architectures and orchestration * AI-native product building \*What's broken in the ecosystem and how you're working around it **Who should come:** Developers, technical founders, and AI engineers who build with (or on top of) LLMs. All levels welcome — senior devs with war stories and curious beginners both make the conversation better. **Format:** Open conversation, round-table style. Everyone teaches, everyone learns.

Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. We’ll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options. **YouTube Link** TBD

AI Agents 101: How to Make ChatGPT Do Actual Work
Most people still use AI like a search box: type one question, get one answer, repeat. But the next step is AI agents: systems that can take a goal, break it into steps, use tools, remember context, and produce useful work for a human to review. In this beginner-friendly session, we’ll demystify what AI agents actually are — without hype or jargon. We’ll walk through practical examples of how agents can help with research, planning, writing, coding, operations, and personal productivity. We’ll cover: * What makes an AI “agent” instead of just a chatbot * How agents break tasks into steps * Where agents are genuinely useful today * Where they fail, hallucinate, or need human review * How to design simple AI workflows for your own work * A live demo of an AI agent-style workflow from start to finish No coding experience required. This is for anyone who wants to understand where AI tools are going and how to use them more effectively right now. LOGISTICS AND PARKING: The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks! The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.
