On the 25th & 26th April 2026, My Bike Group (MBG) is organizing a leisure ride to Kukup. On 25th April 2026, we'll be riding across the Woodlands Causeway to Kukup, passing through Danga Bay, Iskandar Puteri, Pulai River Bridge. Estimated time of arrival at Kukup at about 1pm. We'll all lodge into a unique Twin sharing or 10 pax Bunkroom rustic Kukup resort for the night, which includes teabreak, dinner, supper and breakfast. **Get Ready for the Mountains** For all adventure seekers training for your next trek, or simply be always ready for one! Join me and our trip participants for a training hike: Meet/End: MacRitchie Reservoir, outside Gink-Go Cafe (formerly Mushroom Cafe) Distance: 11km Duration: \~2.5 hours **Note that this is not a leisure hike. We will be fast-hike at 4.5-5km/hour for the entire 11km full loop.** **Ruck It Up** Rucking is simply walking/hiking with a weighted pack on your back. Rucking builds muscle and strength while improving cardio & endurance and well… burn up more calories! A day pack of +/-5kg will be a good start, or more for that multi-day trek. Loading up is optional; especially if you may have any health or medical restrictions. It is a good introduction to those who wanted to scale higher mountains in Peninsula Malaysia. It takes an average of 3 hours to reach summit & 2 hours to descend. The starting part of the trek is in a fruit plantation. However, after a few minutes of trek, the trail leads into vegetated area although tree cover is still quite sparse. After about half an hour of trek, the trail would lead into the forest into CP1 & CP2. The most exciting part of the trail is the 90-degree rock wall at CP3. You can choose either using the ladder or climbing up with rope. Sign-ups *are only confirmed after contacting us and joining the WA group! \**** Gunung Ledang, or commonly known as Mount Ophir (1,276m) is the highest mountain in Johor and almost the most climbed mountain there. This is a good step-up hike for those who are looking to progress to tougher hikes after Gunung Datuk or are training or preparing for Kinabalu/Nepal etc. **Who is this for?** It serves as a good training or progressive hike for those who wish to do more hiking. Most do it as training for other treks, like Kinabalu, or Nepal. **How tough is it/How fit do I have to be?** It is twice as long as Gunung Datuk. The trek is around 4-5h up and 3-4h down, making it a total of 9h. The total elevation is around 1,000m up and down. It can be quite tiring on your legs. It is generally tropical forest trail, with some rope portions, ladders and rock faces. It can be quite fun to go through the different terrain with the need to use your hands at some points. However, if you have done Gunung Datuk before, the terrain is not that much of a surprise. The tough part is only the duration. This is good for people who have some level of fitness, if not it will be fun for those who are first time in Malaysia! **What happens if I am slow?** There is a 1 guide to 7 hikers ratio. There is also a cut-off timing to the summit, if you fail to make it you will have to turn back! So far everyone I've brought made it =). Do note if you descent past a certain time, there is a penalty. How many pax for the trip to happen? Minimum **12 pax** to start the trip! This is the first one so if you're interested jump in!** **We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop.
