\*\* This is now a "standing-room only" event \*\* In order to accommodate everyone, we won't be seated (there will be a few chairs for people who get tired) and we'll try to create a relaxed vibe - but I'll still tell you all about the wines and regions. I am travelling in North-West Italy in February and will return with wines from independent wineries in Piedmont and Liguria. As well as blockbusters such as Barolo, Barbera and Cortese di Gavi, I’m expecting to source some interesting and delicious varietals such as Pigato, Dolcetto, and maybe some grappa and bubbles! Of course, I’ll be sure to pick up some local cheeses, truffles, focaccia, pesto, and other regional specialities that pair with the wines. We'll learn all about this astonishing mountain-river-coastal terroir, and the fascinating history starting with the Celto-Ligurians 600 years BCE and influenced by the Greeks, Etruscans, Romans, and Burgundians. I’m organising a coworking + socialising session for all of us who are working on projects (e.g. our own creations, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂 To ensure that we have time for both socialising AND working, we will be using the so-called “Pomodoro” technique: **50 mins deep work** (silent), followed by **10 mins break** to socialise. And then repeat! You are welcome to join whatever your personal background is, and whatever project you are working on. Before this time, we are busy setting up the space. Registrations usually take place around **18:15 / 18:20**. Participants are kindly asked **not to arrive too far in advance** at the house. If someone arrives much earlier, Denizen may ask them to pay either for a drink (consumption) or for a **day pass**, as the space is a co-working environment during the day. **Please remember, our event is only happening from 18:00 to 20:00** **How the Sprachcafé works** We use different materials to help participants gain confidence in German. Together with whiteboards and our volunteers, the Sprachcafé is based on **interactive conversations** in small groups. **Participation fee** The Sprachcafé has a **participation fee of 5 €**, which helps cover organizational costs and **includes one soft drink for free**.
