Happy New Year everyone and welcome back to a new season of Socrates Cafe. We are going to weave together a triad of topics over these next three months that offer a story of life. For this first month we are going to look at the matter of ‘soul’ and discuss if there is an immaterial aspect of being human. Then in February we will move on from the nature of being human to discuss the presence of evil and what might be wrong with us and with our world. Finally, the third event in March will be a conversation on hope. Is there any way out of this mess in which we find ourselves? Each will be separate enough to discuss alone, but attending the series as a whole will add depth to each one. So to start off we are going to have a conversation about the soul. What makes us, us, as human beings? What makes me, me, as an individual? What are we made of? Are we more than animated matter? Is there an immaterial aspect to our nature that might survive the death of our bodies? When might a soul come into existence if there is one? You are invited to come along for this facilitated conversation this upcoming Tuesday evening at Third Space Smithfield. **NOTE: we ask for a 3 Euro donation** to cover costs payable on the night by coin or Revolut. TOG will be open on Tuesday evenings from 19:00 to 21:30 for a general Open House event. Expect to find members and visitors in the space up to all sorts of activities. It's a great time to drop in and see what the space is about. If you're an artist, tinkerer, maker or just plain curious, come in and see what the space is about. Maybe you already have something to work on (or want to), have something to fix, create, design, bodge or tinker... drop in. We're also open for just for plain old social chat and hang out, with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. We have lots of free parking right outside our door.

A lovely session of music and song in a relaxed and supportive environment. All levels of musician and singer welcome. You can come and sing or play one song or just come and listen to the other members. Great way to build up your playing skills and build up your confidence. Explore Carton Demense and Rye Water Loop, County Kildare, Maynooth. We will be meeting inside Connolly Train Station for 12:00, beside Pret A Manger, there are toilets in the Train Station. At 12:17, We are going on the Train to Maynooth, the journey is 43 Minutes Stops (Serving, Drumcondra, Broombridge, Pelletstown, Ashtown, Navan Road Parkway, Castleknock, Coolmine, Clonsilla, Leixlip Confey, Leixlip Louisa Bridge) and making it to Maynooth for 13:00. When we arrive to Maynooth there is a couple of shops and cafe nearby for those who want to get some food and coffee before or after. The loop is around 2 hours long, we will be walking by a hidden forest, the River Rye Water, a golf course, Tyreconnel Tower, the Duke of Leinster used to live in Carton House Demense, there is also a boathouse too. Bathroom are also nearby. When coming back to Dublin, we can get the C3 or the InterCity Train back.

I would love to grow a crafty circle of female friends and so the Crafty Corner was born. **Crafty Corner Thoughts** Bring your own craft projects along for a peaceful hour where you can sit and chat, concentrate on your work and enjoy a coffee or tea. **Location** The group will be based in my therapy practice in Tyrrelstown Plaza, the exact location will be shared with attendees. Please be aware that the room is up two flights of stairs and unfortunately there is no wheelchair access. **Numbers** Due to limited space, the numbers will be limited. **Fee** There will be a small charge of €10 which will cover room rental, biscuits, coffee, tea and maybe a baked good if the week is going well. # Bohernabreena Reservoir Upper Loop 8.9 KM 2 Hour Long. Sunday Hiking Trail on 18th of Janruary. We are Meeting at Tallaght (Red Link) Luas Stop at 10:45 AM. How to get there ? You can get the Luas from Point Square or Connolly Train Station which is quick or you can get the S6 Bus or 27 Bus to Tallaght. Please bring some supplies with you like a packed lunch, water or snacks with you. We will be getting the 82 Killtipper Way Bus at Bus Stop (Number 4347) at Tallaght Square Shopping Centre, We will be on the Bus for 7 minutes (7 Stops), We will be getting off at Marlfield Drive Bus Stop. If you want to come earlier, there is earlier Bus 10-15 minutes earlier for those who chose to come early. Then we will be walking 25 minutes 1.8 KM to Bohernabreena, where we will be starting our trail. There is a Car Park too for those who choose to drive there. But it can get full so if you are parking I would reccomend parking in Tallaght. There is a Cafe called Cafe Woods in Kiltipper for those who want Coffee before the walk which is 12 Minutes Walk a way from the Car Park, also a Shop there too called Nearby.
