Electronics Night
These are our regular Monday evening electronics nights. Everyone from absolute beginner to experienced is welcome. These evenings are not classes or tutorials, rather a very friendly informal evening.
We have a wide range of people who come. Some are absolute beginners who do not even work or study electronics, but are interested to know more. Others have something that they are already working on. We almost always have some first time visitors and we always give them a tour of the space.
Come in with your Pi, Arduino, or whatever you have. Bring your laptop. Maybe you want to make something, solder, breadboard or use our electronic gear. Maybe you have some vague ideas and just want to get started. Or maybe youâre just curiousâŠâŠif so, itâs fine to come along and just see what others are doing.
If you would like to get even more involved and have the full use of our space, we would be delighted to have you as a full member. Membership brings many benefits.
We are located behind Mr Price and the Bright Lights store on Kylemore Road. We have lots of free parking available.
Maker Night - Work on 3D projects using laser cutter, 3D Printer at TOG
**Do you like to make things? Would you like to use 3D software, lasercutter and 3D printing to help you make your idea?**
TOG has an open evening to learn how CAD software and 3D fabrication tools can help you make your project.
All you need to take part is your own laptop and some ideas on what you want to make.
This is not a taught class, more like an informal working group of self-directed makers.
We will be happy to help you explore how to use our 3D tools in designing and making your project whether you are a crafter, designer, engineer or hobbyist.
Come and have a look at the tools in our space and get some ideas on how your project can be made.
Christmas Gala 3pm matinée: NSOI and Sinéad Campbell Wallace (NCH)
**âTis the season to be merry⊠and to indulge in a festive gala of glorious opera arias and seasonal gems with National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, conductor Francesco Cilluffo and soprano SinĂ©ad Campbell Wallace.** [Please arrange your own ticket (ranging from âŹ15 - âŹ49 for the 3 pm show): welcome to add seat details to comments for others to purchase adjacent seats.](https://www.nch.ie/all-events-listing/christmas-gala-with-nsoi-and-sinead-campbell-wallace-dec25/)
* About:
Sinéad Campbell Wallace is one of the most exciting performers on the operatic stage today. Her fast-rising profile has seen her perform leading roles in prestigious opera houses across Europe, the United States and Tokyo, and at home with Irish National Opera and Wexford Festival Opera.
She will bring her âheavenly voiceâ (*Opera Online*) to Pucciniâs aching âVissi dâArte (*Tosca*) â a role for which she has been widely praised - the innocently loving âUn bel dĂŹ vedremoâ (*Madama Butterfly*), Catalaniâs haunting âEbben? Ne andrĂČ lontanaâ (*La Wally*), and LehĂĄrâs sparkling âMeine Lippen, sie kĂŒssen so heissâ from Giuditta. With these glorious arias, festive vocal favourites including *The Wexford Carol*, *O Holy Night* and *Silent Night*, and orchestral favourites such as Tchaikovskyâs sugar-coated, snow-dusted *The Nutcracker* and Leroy Andersonâs joyful *A Christmas Festival*.
Francesco Cilluffo, Principal Guest Conductor with Wexford Festival Opera since 2020, brings all his âinstinctive feeling for Italiante lyricismâ (*New York Times*) to what promises to be a memorable partnership with National Symphony Orchestra and SinĂ©ad Campbell Wallace in a festive, feel-good afternoon.
Monday Night MeetUp
Our free-of-charge meet-up upstairs in Ryan's Bar.
This is a casual meet up for people who want to play boardgames. Lots of people bring plenty of games and rules will always be explained so don't worry if you're new to the hobby and you don't have anything to bring along or think you won't know how to play.
Late comers always welcome, you just might have to wait a little for a game to open up.
**The meet ups are free of charge but we do ask that people support the bar by buying food and/or drink. The bar is very accommodating to us and it's important that we support them in return. Bringing in outside food or drink is completely unacceptable.**
Check out the comments below where people will say what games they are bringing and express your interest in joining if interested.

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!

December Book Club/White Elephant Book Exchange
Welcome, readers! âïž
Our December read is **_A Quiet Life by Ethan Joella._**
A Quiet Life by Ethan Joella is a tender, character-driven novel that follows three people in a small Pennsylvania town as they each cope with loss and seek connection. Chuck, a widower, struggles to find meaning after his wifeâs death; Ella, a young woman, faces the heartbreak of her missing daughter; and Kirsten, a veterinary technician, grieves her father while contemplating her future. Their stories intertwine gently, revealing how grief and hope coexistâand how even small acts of kindness can help people rediscover purpose and peace in the aftermath of tragedy.
Looking forward to discussing with everyone!
At this meeting, our third annual White Elephant book exchange will take place!
If you'd like to participate, bring a gift-wrapped book that you already own. On the gift wrap, write the genre of the book.
We will meet at Zaftig Brewing Co in their event room in the back. We are welcome to bring in our own food, but **drinks must be purchased at the bar.**
Happy reading! đ
