Public Speaking Monday Meetup - New Location
Come along to get rid of the number one fear people have. Every week we have new members and people starting from scratch so you will not be alone. Everything is based around what you're comfortable with and you don't have to stand up, talk or do anything if you don't feel like it. But you will have the opportunity to speak at least 4/5 times a night. You can come along to see what we're doing and take part if you like. We will be running this for beginners every week and anyone is welcome to join us to learn and get better together. Hope to see you there :D
We charge โฌ5 to help towards the room rental.

Dublin Acoustic Circle with Rob
**Join Us for a Night of Live Acoustic Music! ๐ถ**
Bring your instrument/voice and your love for music for a relaxed evening of acoustic performances with fellow musicians! This is a safe space: a welcoming and supportive song circle featuring an eclectic mix of folk, country, Americana, blues, Irish Trad, and singer-songwriter styles. Play your own song, a faithful cover, or a fresh takeโeveryoneโs welcome!
Hereโs how it works:
* Itโs unplugged and informal. Each person gets a turn to play one song in a round, then we go again.
* No instrument? No worries! Singers can go acappella or ask for accompaniment. Someone may be able to help out.
* All skill levels are encouragedโitโs about the joy of making music together.
**A few notes:**
* Max of 12 performers, so **RSVP is required**
* Respect the musicโ we stay quiet during performances and breaks between songs are the perfect moment to go for a drink or head to the loo.
* **Itโs a free venue**, so consider grabbing a drink to support the space.
* **I'm adding a tips jar!** 50% of the tips will go to the bar staff and 50% to the cost of the Meetup App membership fee (it's about 10 EUR a month with my current discount plan). If you can't contribute, seriously no worries.
**Important RSVP reminders:**
* Musicians can bring a +1 or 2, (just please mention it in your RSVP or post in the event chat so we can best plan the space)
* *If you canโt make it, update your RSVP so someone else can join.*
* **Come as you are, share a song, and soak up the magic of live acoustic music. Canโt wait to see you there!! :)**

a Square round table discussion
Hy ,, I have "adopted" this group, because I love music creativity and would like to develop the group, BUT before imposing my ideas I would like you , as existing members to state what you want from this group, I have made an effort as I had 3 groups and close one (merged it with another) so that I could stop this group from its demise (which meetup HQ advised would close this week) so you can either mail me , or post ideas on discussion OR I have use of a central town location from 4-7 PM on the 8th January ... in the meantime BEST wishes

This top-reviewed dark comedy satirical thriller follows a man devises a unique plan to secure a new job: eliminate his competition. Hereโs a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: The film follows a desperate paper industry expert who decides to kill off his competition to be assured of the job he seeks to maintain his way of life. The film is co-written / produced / directed by Park Chan-wook and is based on The Ax by Donald Westlake. It stars Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran, and Cha Seung-won.

It just received 3 Golden Globe nominations for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actor for Lee Byung-hun. It was also selected as the South Korean entry (and likely nominee) for Best International Film at this yearโs Academy Awards! It's been a stellar year for International films! We've already seen superb entries SENTIMENTAL VALUE, IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT and THE SECRET AGENT! My spidey senses tell me those three and this Korean entry could be 4 of our 5 Best International Films at this year's Oscars!

Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for January is "Chemistry"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 7:00 pm, show starts at 7:30 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
Shut Up & Write!ยฎ South Side Columbus
Join us for an hour of writing! Weโve discovered that itโs strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if itโs true for you at 7:00pm the second & fourth Wednesday of every month at Two Dollar Radio Headquarters (HQ).
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
**SCHEDULE:**
6:45ish - Quick introductions
7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
8:00 - The End
**OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens around 6:45pm. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
