Toronto's lungs are its ravines, its green oasis, breathing life into the City itself. A city emerging from forest.
Fanning outward like the veins in a leaf, Toronto's ravines bring a touch of the country to every city neighbourhood. They provide a tranquil sanctuary and respite from the noise and bustle, and a safe home for birds, and other animals.
The Moore Park or Belt Line Ravine stretches from the Don Valley Parkway east of Rosedale to the edge of Mount Pleasant Cemetery. It has faced destruction several times in its long history. But cooler heads have prevailed. It served as an early commuter railway route between Toronto and its suburbs. But during the 1940s plans were underway to utilize the ravine for a major traffic artery which was never built. For that we are truly thankful. A garden awaits us.
Take a walk on the real wild side and let's follow and explore the old Moore Park Ravine and North Rosedale.
This walking tour is for all walking levels and fitness skills, but there are several hills on this walk. Please dress for the season and bring water. Hope to see you there.
This walking tour begins outside the Castle Frank Subway Station on the Bloor Danforth Line. We end this walk at the corner of Moore Park and Mount Pleasant Road, adjacent to transit.
This tour has a ticket price of $15.00 per person!

SS Noronic (pictured above), Little Norway Park, Maple Leaf Baseball Stadium, iconic names from the harbourfront, and the list goes on! It was where Toronto got started and ended in many ways, both physically and emotionally. To this day we look at the waterfront as the place where Toronto begins. Its soul! But the history of the waterfront has been troubled right from the first decade when Toronto was known as York and the dumping of garbage and waste into the Bay was common.
Toronto's Harbourfront has been the neighbourhood that has changed the most over the last century. A place almost unrecognizable forty years ago. The changes have been rapid and overwhelming.
The central harbour has been used for shipping and industrial purposes since York was founded in 1793. The original shoreline was just south of Front Street. The area south to today's shoreline south of Queen's Quay was filled in with landfill, creating new land and a host of new problems! It has not been a happy co-existence.
The Pierre Elliot Trudeau government announced the Harbourfront project, similar to the Granville Island project in Vancouver, BC. prior to 1972. The idea was to create a cultural and residential zone that would push the industrial companies and factories out of the harbour lands. Well most of that did happen, but was it all for the best? Let's explore!
This walking tour begins in Little Norway Park adjacent to Queen's Quay West, at the foot of Bathurst Street, and ends at Sugar Beach at the foot of Jarvis Street.
This walking tour is for all walking levels. Please dress for the season, and hope to see you there.
This walk has a ticket price of $15.00 per person.

Artists who create ( in person group meeting!)
Hi everyone, we will be having our Artists who create meetup group at the food court (Near the A & W) of Erin Mills Town Centre, and we look forward to seeing everyone who can make it this coming Saturday, May 9th at 3 pm. This will be a very casual and fun moment to create, connect and engage in conversation as we work on our own art projects. I also look to have a theme for this session to ignite our creativity and give us something to go off of if we're starting from scratch. The theme is "What makes life enjoyable", and the powerful thing it can be to be alive despite all the uncertainty and struggles we might face. I will be providing some art materials for those who need them, but of course, it's highly encouraged to bring your own. Here is the full address of the mall:

**FAQs**
**Our Community Backyards workshops are FREE and a great way to participate in the rebate program. Our workshops are typically 1 to 1 and a half hours long and held in-person. Our workshops cover the same content as the online course, but they are more detailed and allow the chance to ask questions and have discussions with the presenters and other residents. We occassionally have "advanced topics" classes where you dive deeper into one topic of Community Backyards such as invasive vs. native plants or rain gardens.**
**Registration is encouraged but not required.** You can register in advance to receive your voucher at the workshop. If you don't register in advance, that's okay - you can still show up (unless otherwise noted - which is very rare) and sign up for a voucher at the class, and we will send you one via email or mail within a few business days after the workshop.
**"Do I have to be a resident of that community to attend that workshop?"** Nope! Our workshops are open to everyone (unless otherwise noted - which is extremely rare). You can attend a workshop that best suits your schedule even if it is in a different community than your own.
**"Why is registration closed?** Can I just show up?" Yes, you can show up without registering! We close registration typically 1-2 days before the workshop to give the vouchers and materials to the presenters. However, you are always welcome to just show up and fill out a short form to request a voucher at the workshop. If eligible, we will send one to you within 1-2 business days after the workshop.
**Voucher note**: Classes are free for everyone but vouchers are for residents of Franklin county or participating community (list here: https://www.communitybackyards.org/participate)

A monthly healing space where we gather to tend the pieces of ourselves and weave them back into wholeness that we are. Each session opens with a Soulbits oracle image setting the tone for the gathering we will move through. We will come together to honor the natural rhythms of rooting, rising, releasing, and receiving; the cycles that shape the soulās journey.
Through the four pillars of being: mindset, movement, connection & nourishment, we will create a space where imagery, sensation, and community weave together. Where the body becomes the guide, images act as mirrors, and the soul speaks. This circle is about noticing what rises, honoring whatās true, and reconnecting with the parts of yourself ready to be seen.
This is a space to gather your scattered pieces, soften your body, and return to your truth with community by your side. Soulbits Circle is a reminder that every fragment of your story, every soulbit, belongs. Together we weave them into the blooming wholeness that you are.
