Time for improv fun!
Time for improv fun!
Welcome for some fun improv games together :) About us: We are a bunch of people of all ages and backgrounds, gathering to share the common passion for improv. Improvisation, or Improv for short, is a form of live theatre in which the story, characters and scenes are without a script and made up in the moment, completely different every time. The actors are acting, directing themselves, writing the plot and interacting with each other all at the same time without previous planning. Improvisation can help you with your social and business skills by training your mind to think quickly and react to unexpected situations. In Improvisation, there are no lines to memorize and you play off other creatively challenged fun-loving, global-minded people who loves laughing at themselves. It’s a great way to socialize and make new friends. It’s a welcoming atmosphere, we want you to join in the fun, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced improviser – come and lets enjoy together! We usually start with some warm-ups that help us relax, listen and focus. Then we move on to doing different kinds of short scene fun games with each other, making characters, stories and our small worlds. In improv mistakes are welcome and you will have goooood times! We charge 50 kr in advance in order to cover our expenses. Swish is king! See you very soon ;) Please come only if you are in good health! P.S. You can also follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/themiip

Spark Performance & The North Star of Data Catalogs
Spark Performance & The North Star of Data Catalogs
**Get ready for the next edition of the Copenhagen Data Engineering Meetup!** On the 18th of February, we are gathering at **Unity’s** Copenhagen headquarters for an evening dedicated to fine-tuning our engines and navigating the future of open data ecosystems. Whether you’re looking to squeeze every ounce of performance out of your Spark jobs or trying to make sense of the rapidly evolving catalog landscape, this is an event you won't want to miss. ### The Lineup We have two deep-dive sessions featuring experts from the front lines of data platform engineering: **Spark Tuning & Best Practices: From Theory to Production-Ready Performance** *Asaf Sneh (Unity)* Moving from a Spark job that "just works" to one that is production-hardened and cost-efficient is no small feat. Asaf will take us through the journey of Spark optimization, bridging the gap between theoretical best practices and the realities of running high-performance workloads at scale within Unity. **Graduating Class of 2026? The Current State of Apache Polaris (incubating)** *William Martin (Dremio)* As the industry moves toward open table formats, the question of "who manages the metadata" has never been more relevant. William will give us an insider look at Apache Polaris. With it being 2026, we’ll explore its progress through the Apache incubator, its role in the Iceberg ecosystem, and whether it’s ready to become the "valedictorian" of your data architecture. And, of course, a Data Engineering meetup wouldn't be complete without the chance to talk shop over a good meal. **Dinner and drinks** will be provided by our generous sponsors, **Unity** and **Dremio**. *** ### 📍 Location & Venue The event is hosted by **Unity** at their offices in Copenhagen. *Stay tuned for specific entry instructions closer to the date.* ### Agenda * **18:00:** People Arriving + Networking * **18:15:** Introduction * **18:20:** Spark Tuning & Best Practices (Asaf Sneh, Unity) * **19:00:** Dinner & Drinks * **19:30:** The Current State of Apache Polaris (William Martin, Dremio) * **20:10:** Networking & Wrap-up We look forward to seeing the community come together for another night of great technical discussions!

Fake news, generated AI and the future of “reality”
Fake news, generated AI and the future of “reality”
**Truth, Trust, Technology, and a World You Can’t Quite Verify** We’re entering a time where seeing is no longer believing. AI can generate voices, faces, videos, articles—and entire narratives—almost indistinguishable from reality. When everything can be fabricated perfectly, what happens to truth, trust, and our shared sense of what’s real? This isn’t a media literacy workshop or a tech lecture. It’s a philosophical conversation about reality itself in an age of artificial generation. *** **Topics we’ll touch on:** * When AI can fake anything, does “truth” still exist in a meaningful way? * Deepfakes, synthetic news, and the erosion of shared facts * Is reality becoming personalized—different for each of us? * Who decides what is real: humans, algorithms, platforms, or states? * Can democracy survive without a common understanding of truth? * Are we heading toward radical skepticism—or digital authoritarianism? * And finally… how do we live well when certainty itself starts to dissolve? Casual discussion. No technical background needed. Just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to question what you think you know. Whether you feel worried, intrigued, or strangely detached from it all—you’re not alone. Let’s question the images, the stories—and maybe even our own assumptions about reality.

His main research focus is on the modelling of social phenomena and social intelligence with the aim of creating explainable computer systems that can interact robustly and intelligently with humans and other computer systems. He is one of the founders and main researchers within the area of *Epistemic Planning* \- providing AI agents\, e\.g\. robots\, with the ability to take the perspective of other agents into account when planning\. He is also one of the central public communicators of AI in Denmark with several hundreds of popular science talks and media appearances. In 2019, he received the H.C. Ørsted award for excellence in science communication. Thomas has also served on a number of commissions and think tanks working on the societal aspects of digitalisation and AI (including the SIRI commission, the TechDK commission, the Tiger Council, and the Governmental Expert Group on Tech Giants). In 2024, he received the DAIR "Lifetime achievement in AI" award for his research and research communication. Topic: Intentions, attention and social intelligence. Human social intelligence relies heavily on our ability to infer what others intend to do or what their focus of attention is. Fluent human-robot interaction requires robots to have similar abilities. But how to give them that? What are the relevant paradigms and methods within AI, and what can we learn from philosophy and cognitive psychology to help us built more socially intelligent and situation-aware robots for the future? **Sofie Grue Haumann** has been working with AI adoption since 2016, starting her career in a startup and now holding the role of AI Enablement Lead, Enterprise AI at Novo Nordisk. She has a background from CBS and her focus has always been on enhancing people-centric AI adoption, bridging the gap between innovative technology, user engagement and enablement. She is passionate about inspiring people to get started with their AI journey, regardless of their technical and has a strong track record of driving inspiring, educating and empowering initiatives that promote integration of AI. Topic: "How Novo Nordisk is driving AI adoption across the enterprise — and how we measure the impact." **Ananth Gopal**, leads a data & AI team in [Nilfisk](https://www.nilfisk.com/global/professional/)'s "Autonomous & Digital Solutions" division. He earned his PhD in computing applied to robotics, and has since worked in roles across both academia and industry. Climbing @ Bison
Climbing @ Bison
**Hi everyone** 👋 I’m David, and I’d love to start a social bouldering club for anyone who wants to climb, hang out, and meet new people! I will arrange a meetup climbing event every 2nd week or once a month, at different climbing gyms around the city. The focus is on: • 🧗‍♂️ Climbing and challenging ourselves • 🤝 Being social and building a fun community • 💪 Training together – all levels welcome I’ve been climbing for about 1.5 years, so I’m still in my learning phase, but I’m more than happy to help beginners get started and share the basics with anyone who’s new. We will start at **Bison in the meatpacking district the 21 February @ 14.00** o’clock. If people want, we can go for a drink or a bit of food afterwards. There will be a warm up and cool down, focusing on climbing and mobility. If you want to join in on that, otherwise drop in when ever. If you’re interested in joining, just drop a comment. Looking forward to climbing with you all! 🙌 **Short Overview of Boulder Gyms in Copenhagen and bouldering is:** **Beta Boulders** A modern and friendly gym with lots of different wall styles. Great for both beginners and experienced climbers, and there’s a nice training area as well. **Bison Boulders** Located a bit outside the city, but very relaxed and welcoming. Good variety of routes and plenty of space. A calm, nice atmosphere. **Boulders CPH** One of the biggest and most popular bouldering gyms in Copenhagen. Many routes for all levels and a very social environment. **What Is Bouldering?** Bouldering is a type of climbing done at low heights — usually up to around 4–5 meters — **without ropes or harnesses**. Instead, there are thick mats on the floor for safety. You only need climbing shoes, which you can rent, and maybe some chalk for your hands. Climbs are short “problems” or routes that you try to solve using balance, technique, and strength. Some are easy, some are challenging, and you can always choose the level that fits you. Bouldering is also very social — people often help each other, share tips, cheer each other on, and have fun together. It’s perfect for meeting new people while getting a good workout.

Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake
Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge. **Abstract** *Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation* Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, we’ll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifacts—living documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification. You’ll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. We’ll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, we’ll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written. This talk will cover: --What spec-driven development is (and what it isn’t) --How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows --Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development --Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence Whether you’re building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects. **YouTube Link** TBA
Intro to Shaders in Unity
Intro to Shaders in Unity
This meetup is a beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop focused on building shaders in Unity using Shader Graph. Instead of slides or theory-heavy lectures, we'll build real shaders together step-by-step. The format is structured but interactive. You'll watch a quick demo, then build each shader yourself with guidance. By the end, you'll have created multiple shaders you can immediately use in your own projects—and understand how to make more. **What to Expect:** * Build 4–5 complete shaders from scratch * Color tints, snow accumulation, scrolling water, dissolve effects, and more * No prior shader experience required * Checkpoint files provided if you fall behind * Resources for continued learning All experience levels are welcome. Whether you've never opened Shader Graph or just want to fill gaps in your knowledge, this is a supportive space to learn by doing. **Food and drinks provided. Join us to learn, build, and level up your shader skills.** I added the Unity project to the repo here - https://github.com/EricJRico/IntroToShaders.git This is what we'll be using for the session.

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games! The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime! Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
