Photography is Ishmael’s main tool for thinking through identity, migration, power, and belonging. His work moves between documentary and staged moments, blending the real and the imagined to reflect the instability of contemporary life. Influenced by surrealism, pop art, futurism, and Afro futurist imaginaries, his images are bold, colourful, and charged with symbolic weight. His work has been exhibited widely across Ireland and internationally, including PhotoMuseum Ireland, the RHA, the Hunt Museum, and the National Concert Hall. He has been recognised by LensCulture, Taylor Wessing, the Royal Photographic Society, and Shutter Hub’s 100 Photographers of Tomorrow. Ishmael is also a co founder of ÍOVA Collective, supporting photographer led practice in Ireland.

The others are regulars and we coordinate in a private WhatsApp group\*\* We play a 6v6 game every Wednesday @ 8:00PM in SportsCo, Dublin 4. The pitch we use is spacious an ideal for 6v6 (ball/all bibs provided). To encourage passing and flowing football, goals can only be scored from inside the penalty area. Games are played in a friendly atmosphere and slide tackles are prohibited. We don't have stick keepers and use a last-man back policy. There is a core group of regular players who have played with us for years but we also invite a handful of pickup players to play from this app. If pickup players like the vibe they might have the option to subscribe on a longer-term basis. This game has been running on the same pitch for over a decade. The games are good quality with good technical players and always played in a nice, competitive atmosphere.
