Rave New World: Confessions of a Raving Reporter + AFTER-RAVE @Rockhal
Rave New World: Confessions of a Raving Reporter + AFTER-RAVE @Rockhal
*Apologies in advance for the excessive use of the word “rave” in this event.* Join us — with intensity and grace — for a hybrid evening that begins with reflection and ends in bass. From a Saturday night discussion about the rave scene to an actual one in the south of Luxembourg. You’re welcome to attend either one or both: **20:00 – 22:00 \| Book Discussion @ Creapelle** “We were one nation united by the groove.” In 1989, one rave changed Kirk Field’s life. It led him to become a “rave reporter” and witness the UK’s Summer of Love. We’ll dive into his book *Rave New World: Confessions of a Rave Reporter*, though you don’t need to have read the book... curiosity is enough 😎 You can also watch the documentary beforehand [HERE](https://youtu.be/A-XrlMpwEuM) **23:00 \| Do You Rave? @ Rockhal Club** Luxembourg may not be Berlin. But every now and then, she hosts amazing raves and this is one of them! Join me and Laureena — two passionate ravers — as we move from conversation to groove in *Luxembourg’s biggest hard techno rave!* Event info & tickets [HERE](https://rockhal.lu/shows/do-you-rave-march/) Oh! and a gently reminder of the rave essentials: - Black clothes - Black shades - Gum - Earplugs - An open mind - Good sleep (the real super drug😉)

Moving to a new city is exciting at first — a fresh start, new opportunities, a new chapter. But once things settle, being new in town can feel lonely. James by Percival Everett
James by Percival Everett
Percival Everett writes a brilliant reimagining of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn told from the enslaved Jim's point of view. « When Jim overhears that he is about to be sold to a man in New Orleans, separated from his wife and daughter forever, he runs away until he can formulate a plan. Meanwhile, Huck has faked his own death to escape his violent father. As all readers of American literature know, thus begins the dangerous and transcendent journey by raft down the Mississippi River toward the elusive and unreliable promise of the Free States and beyond. » While known as "Jim" to his enslavers, James is a self-educated, articulate man who reclaims his name, "James". He is depicted as simple, credulous, and superstitious, but secretly more literate and erudite than most of the white people around him. 💡the book is available in Luxembourg librairies

🌼🌼 Lellingen Daffodil Hike (12km) 🌼🌼
🌼🌼 Lellingen Daffodil Hike (12km) 🌼🌼
Hello Friends! There is a forest in the north of Luxembourg, where at this time of the year millions of wild daffodils are blooming. It's an incredible view, almost impossible to capture in a photo. CFL is playing with us these days; there is either "Schienenersatzverkehr" between Luxembourg and Echternach or between Echternach and Wilwerwiltz. The replacement bus takes twice as long as we would need by car, that's why it is a full "car pool exercise" this time. We will need carpooling anyway if we want to leave the country once in a while, so let's get used to it! We will start in Lellingen, and we will partially follow the "Via Botanica", which is dedicated to the daffodils that grow only in that area in such large numbers. As usual, I've optimized the path a bit in terms of the distance to reach the picnic spot after about 7km. The weather will not be that great, no rain, but way too cold for a long picnic, so we will leave before we get too cold. We will then go back across the same yellow paradise and enjoy the view again, from a different perspective, then all the way down back to Lellingen. **Meeting Point:** We will meet at the start of the "Eisleck pad Lellingen". https://maps.app.goo.gl/irrXoCJgz9n9KmAr8 **Car Pool:** Please try to get in the carpool, everyone. https://groupcarpool.com/t/hryx9p Passengers may bring a pair of clean shoes for the return, although it's not expected to be extremely muddy this time. But you never know, you may want to be allowed to be a passenger with the same driver again in the future :) Drivers: You may need to plan 5-10 minutes for parking; it's a tiny village. Passengers: When you add yourself to a car and don't remove yourself from the waiting list, then I will clean up the duplicate name from the waiting list at some point. Don't be scared if you get a message that you have been removed; you will still be in the car. Unless the driver canceled their trip in total, better check, but don't add yourself again unless your driver is gone :) **Public Transport:** As a fall-back in case you can't get a seat in a car, you can take Bus L11, leaving at 8:44 from "Gare Rocade, Quai 6" (back side of the Gare, near "Rotondes"). You will arrive in Ettelbrück at 09:58, then take the train RE 3809 towards "Troisvierges". You need to get off at Wilwerwiltz (10:34), then go left, cross the railroads, cross the river, and find the "Autopedestre", following it clockwise (going left) until Lellingen. This will take you less than 20 minutes, and you will meet the rest of the group there. **Disclaimer:** The hike is at your own risk, and please make sure to wear proper shoes and bring some water for yourself! Looking forward to hiking with you! Jens.

How LLMs Like ChatGPT Actually Work and How to Build With Them
How LLMs Like ChatGPT Actually Work and How to Build With Them
**First meetup of the Columbus AI Engineering group.** We’ll kick things off with a practical, beginner-friendly discussion on: **How LLMs like ChatGPT actually work — and how to build real applications with them.** We’ll cover: * what’s actually happening under the hood (at a high level) * why LLMs behave the way they do (hallucinations, prompt sensitivity, etc.) * how people are building real systems with them today * where things break in practice This will be a **short, informal talk (\~15–20 min)** followed by open discussion and Q&A. Whether you’re an engineer, builder, or just curious about how modern AI systems work, you’re welcome to join. No slides, no fluff — just real conversation about real systems. We’ll hang out afterward and get to know each other.
Connected Westerville Night of Networking!
Connected Westerville Night of Networking!
**Connected Westerville Night of Networking** *April Edition: The Introduction Economy* You've been to the networking events. You've done the small talk. Collected the cards. Forgotten the names. And walked out feeling like you just wasted two hours of your life. The problem isn't you. It's the format. Most networking events put you in a room and tell you to figure it out. So everyone defaults to elevator pitches and business talk, and nothing real gets built. Here's the truth about networking that most people miss: Your network isn't just who you know. It's who thinks of you when they're talking to someone else. *That's* The Introduction Economy. And it only works when relationships are real. There's a reason people who come once keep coming back. It starts with seven minutes that feel nothing like networking. Then we open it up. Free networking. More conversations. More momentum. This is a room full of corporate professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners, creatives, and career builders in the Westerville and Columbus area. The mix is the magic. You might never do business with everyone you meet tonight. But someone in this room will think of *you.* **By name**. So, the next time someone needs exactly what you do, you get the recommendation. **April 14th. RSVP now.** **When:** Tuesday\, April 14th \| 6:15 PM \-\- 8:00 PM **Where:** Vineyard Community Center \| 6000 Cooper Rd\, Westerville\, OH 43081
