He is currently a Research Associate at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust at the University of Luxembourg, where he works on research projects with government and industrial partners. His work focuses on designing and implementing AI solutions across sectors such as finance, manufacturing, and healthcare. Before joining the University of Luxembourg, Evgeny worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Sheffield, where he applied statistical modelling, prediction techniques, and machine learning to manufacturing process optimization, and contributed to healthcare technology through the development of JointCalc, a patient decision-support tool. Prior to his research career, he spent nearly a decade at Accenture, progressing from intern to team lead and leading data warehouse, mobile banking, and enterprise application projects for major banking clients, building strong expertise in application architecture, data systems, automation, and software delivery. Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure.
