**About the Instructor – Hwee Hwee**
Hwee is a yoga instructor who hurt her wrist, dampening her asana practice and just could not recover it 100% with physiotherapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine. A calling drawn her to **Reiki healing** and her recovery progressed so much more! Hwee is an advanced Reiki Level 3 practitioner.
With yoga, Hwee fell in love with the **low impact** workout (which was gentle for her teenage injured lower back). Wanting to know yoga beyond the physical aspects (asanas), she went to one of the oldest yoga school in world, G.S. College of Yoga and Cultural Synthesis, Kaivalydham in Lonavla, Pune, India in 2017 and attained her Hatha Yoga teaching certifications from both Kaivalydham and Quality Council of India (QCI) by Indian Yoga Association.
Hwee is also into meditation since 2013 and with Hatha Yoga now, the practice between asana (physical exercise) and meditation has integrated into one.
> *“We don’t do meditation — meditation happens to us.”*
Join Hwee for a nourishing outdoor practice of yoga, pranayama, and gentle healing.
Hwee also speaks **Chinese & Japanese.**

Kampong Kindness Walk with Live Share and Care
Some walks strengthen the body.
Some walks strengthen the soul.
**Date: 30 April 2026 (Thurs)**
**Venue: Area @ Main Entrance, Mushroom Cafe · MacRitchie Reservoir**
**Timing: 0830hrs - 1500hrs**
Our journey begins with an 11km loop through the lush trails of MacRitchie Reservoir Park, where nature reminds us that life grows stronger when it is nurtured together.
After the trail, we gather for brunch at Toa Payoh West Market ,a haven for the traditional food lover — humble, timeworn, and rich with the flavours of old Singapore. Every stall feels like a tribute to heritage, comfort, and recipes worth preserving.
But the real purpose of the walk begins after lunch.
We continue to Christian Outreach to the Handicapped – Emmanuel Activity Centre in Toa Payoh, where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn daily skills, find friendship, and discover dignity in community. Founded in 1979 by missionary Reverend Alice Shae after she struggled to find support for her own daughter with disabilities, the organisation has spent more than four decades building a community of acceptance, empowerment and hope for persons with special needs.
Their vision is simple but powerful: a compassionate and inclusive society where every individual — regardless of ability — is valued and given the opportunity to thrive.
Depending on the number of participants, we may split into two groups — one visiting Block 171 and another visiting Block 161 (Autism Centre) — before regrouping again.
This small visit is not just a tour, but an invitation.
An invitation to see.
An invitation to understand.
An invitation to serve.
Many of these centres depend greatly on volunteers who can spend time befriending clients, guiding simple activities, and offering companionship. Sometimes what they need most is not expertise — but presence.
This walk hopes to plant a seed.
Perhaps after the trail, the lunch, and the visit, some of us may feel a quiet calling — to return not just as visitors, but as volunteers.
Because in the end, the most meaningful journeys are not measured in kilometres…
but in the hearts we choose to walk beside.
Please read this
#1 - This is a number-controlled event. Please come only if you are on the attending list.
#2 - We will move out at 0830 sharp. We are not able to wait for late-comers.
#3 - As this is a limited number event, please check your calendar and make sure you can come before you RSVP. Do not change your attendance at the last minute and deny someone else who genuinely wishes to come.
Empathy Circles - What's your mind?
**To sign up, please go to**
**bit.ly/3ofus_events**
Hi there, "**3 of Us**" is a local Singapore ground-up. **We believe in building meaningful conversation spaces for individuals to talk about things they never found the time and space to. Building empathy spaces for individuals and cultivate active listening for everyone.**
In this session, participants will be able to share their own stories and experiences in a small group setting.
**How will the Empathy Circles session look like?**
Peer-to-peer sharing. 4 pax per group to enable a close-knit and open sharing. Each individual will have time to share their own stories and to listen to other's stories.
Topic: ***What's weighing on your mind?***
Think of this as a space that you may share about things that you've never found the opportunity to talk about or have someone to listen to you.
It may be a story from 10 years ago, or simply this week. As long as it's your story and something you are comfortable to share.
**Can I come alone?**
Of course. 83% of our participants come solo.
**Who will I meet?**
By making this a ticketed session, we ensure that everyone in the room is there for the right reasons. You can expect to meet a group of individuals who genuinely value the space and are ready to listen to your story as much as you are to theirs.
**Is what I share confidential?**
Yes. You’ll be sharing with just 3 others at your table. We treat our conversations like a closed circle. What you hear and share is meant for your table only.
**How is this different from other similar events?**
The session is designed to be YOU-first. During your sharing, the intent is to support you. You are the priority. And in turn, we offer the same gesture to other particpants during their time to share.
**Rules & Your Commitment**
* **Punctuality** \- We will strictly prevent entry from 7\.30pm onwards\. This is to ensure a conducive session for all participants without disruptions\. Doors open at 7pm\.
* **Photography** \- We’ll be taking some photos for our IG\, but don't worry\, we focus on the 'vibe' of the room\, not on your face while you're being vulnerable\. We respect your privacy\.
* **Self promotion / Sales** \- This is a space for people to gather and share their stories\. Kindly do not skew your sharing towards soft launching insurance/products\. Please reconsider joining if this is your intention\. Thank you\!

Contra dance with Big Scioty May 2 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Richard Ades**
**Band: The McKenzies**
**Clinton Heights Lutheran Church**
**15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/)
Please bring your own refillable water bottle.
