Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is held every first Wednesday of the Month at 7:00PM. The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary are two significant expressions of Catholic spirituality, focusing on the love and mercy of Jesus and the compassion and purity of Mary. The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus emphasizes Christ's immense love for humanity, as symbolized by His heart. This devotion is rooted in Scripture, where Jesus invites believers to learn from His heart, which is "meek and humble" (Matthew 11:29). It became more formalized in the seventeenth century through the visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun. In these visions, Jesus revealed His heart as a source of divine love, wounded by sin but overflowing with mercy. The Immaculate Heart of Mary devotion focuses on the interior life of Mary, her virtues, and her deep love for God and humanity. It is particularly tied to her maternal compassion and sorrow for the sins of the world. This devotion became widely recognized after the apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Fatima, Portugal, in 1917, where she asked for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart and for the faithful to offer prayers and sacrifices for the conversion of sinners.

Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Come to play and showcase your games. We're back in the upper levels of the catwalk mezzanine area. It'll be packed with lots of camaraderie playing your game(s) and other's games on the 2nd floor as well as the 1st floor in the gaming room below the mezzanine.
