Something New is excited to collaborate again with Averil Huck from Prague Feminist Tours! Our "WALK & TALK" event comes back for a 2nd edition where you will learn while meeting like-minded people! Join Averil Huck from Feminist Tours for a guided tour to remember nine women who are resting in power in Prague's largest graveyard: Olšany Cemeteries. What to expext from the tour? A 1.5h walk in Prague's largest graveyard, Olšany Cemeteries, to honour the memories of 9 remarkable and lesser-known women laid to rest there. Among them are pioneers of Czech women’s emancipation, like Karolína Světlá & Eliška Krásnohorská, fascinating figures like the “Czech Coco Chanel” or Anna Náprstková, a successful entrepreneur. I'll also tell you the poignant story of a mother, Libuše Palachová, who fought to preserve her son’s memory, Jan Palach, after his tragic self-immolation in protest of the 1968 Soviet invasion. We’ll also make sure that participants get a chance to speak one on one as we’ll incorporate some speed friending into the tour.
