Read Wedding: Monthly Open Mic & Writing Session
**\*\*This event has been free for over three years, but only due to the support of anonymous donations behind the scenes. Please consider [donating via Eventbrite](https://www.eventbrite.de/e/read-wedding-a-berlin-open-mic-for-poetry-storytelling-tickets-1975773081473?aff=oddtdtcreator) if you are able, to help this stay free for everyone else.**
--
Whether you're poetry-curious or a seasoned performer, join us for our monthly open mic night at Hank Chinaski! This event is brought to you, for free\*\*, by the [Re(a)d VVedding Collective](https://www.instagram.com/readwedding/), who organize regular events for all phases of the writer's journey, all in the northern Kiez(es) of Berlin.
Join us for our core event which has been going on in Wedding for over three years. You are most welcome to share your work (or that of writers you admire) & meet fellow enthusiasts through this event. All written works & languages are welcome, though bigotry, racism, transphobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism (which *is not Anti-Zionism*), and so on are not welcome in this space.
**Format - 3 sections:**
* Sections 1 & 2: ≈12 performers (≈6 per section, kicking off at 19:30)
* Section 3: Around 21:30, we'll hold space for a writing session and optional sharing afterwards. This open mic is not only about already “finished“ work! For the readings, priority is first given to those who haven't read earlier in the evening & especially to first-time readers!
**\*\*Donations:**
* While our open mic will always be free, we do happily accept donations [via Eventbrite](https://www.eventbrite.de/e/read-wedding-berlin-open-mic-for-poetry-storytelling-tickets-670852075617?aff=oddtdtcreator) or at the door.
* Donations do not guarantee a reading slot, but help support us in putting in this event, others around Wedding, Pankow and Moabit, and our ongoing zine publications. We appreciate it deeply and as a small collective, will put it to good use!
**RSVPs & Sign Up:**
* RSVP via Meetup, Eventbrite, or just show up. Online RSVPs DO NOT save performance spots
* Sign up at the door between 19:00-19:30
* 5-minute performance slots. Please respect this limit to avoid cutting off your work
Experience the magic of live storytelling and poetry with us!
SU&W Monday Evening in Mitte
***New location - Motel One Alex is under renovation so we'll try out the Hackschermarkt location***
Writing can feel like a solitary experience, but it doesn't have to be! Writing in the company of others can be surprisingly inspiring, productive, and comforting.
Writers of all types and levels are welcome. Whether you're writing a novel, a memoir, poetry, journaling, working on your thesis, or even catching up on emails, all are welcome.
We do things a little differently on Monday evenings. We start with an introduction round, then we will do 45 minutes of writing, break and share how it went, and then dive into the next 45-minute session.
**For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come**.
In between sessions, we have a Telegram chat: [https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw](https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw)

Offener Leseabend
## Wo & Wann?
**BEGINN**: 20:00 Uhr
**ANMELDUNG zum Lesen: ab 19:30 Uhr**
beim Moderator des Abends – siehe [Termine](http://autorenforum-berlin.de/wordpress/termine/);
Die Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung ist kostenlos.
**SCHWARTZSCHE VILLA**
**Großer Salon**
Direkt am S/U Rathaus Steglitz
Grunewaldstr. 55
*Unfortunately at the moment, it's only possible to present German texts. Unpublished texts that are already translated into German are highly welcome!*
## Was erwartet Sie?
Also – nicht gleich verschwinden! Dranbleiben.
**Was habe ich gehört?** (Zusammenfassung (Nacherzählung))
**Was blieb unverstanden** (akustisch oder logisch)
## **Unter der Lupe**
**Was ist das für ein Text?**
(Prosa: Genre? Lyrik: Welche Art lyrischer Text?)
**Thema**
**Sprache**
(Welche Bilder sind stimmig / welche nicht?
Was lässt sich zum Rhythmus sagen?
Sind die Sätze syntaktisch und grammatikalisch korrekt?)
**Dramaturgie**
(Schafft der Text es, Spannung zu erzeugen? In welcher Reihenfolge werden die Dinge erzählt?)
**Bedeutung**
Spiritual and Psychic Experiences Meetup
First Gathering: Spiritual & Transformational Experiences Circle (Berlin)
For our first gathering, we’re creating an open and relaxed space to connect with others who are exploring spiritual, transformational, and non conventional experiences.
This meetup is centered around authentic conversation and shared exploration. Topics may include twin flames, awakening experiences, intuition, psychic perception, energy phenomena, out of body experiences, spirit contact, expanded consciousness.
There is no requirement to “believe” anything specific. Some people come with years of experience, others are simply curious or looking for others who understand what they see feel or hear.
The atmosphere is intended to be respectful, grounded, open-minded.
This will also be the beginning of what is planned as a recurring monthly gathering in Berlin for people interested in deeper spiritual and transformational experiences.
Feel free to come as you are.
SU&W Monday morning NEW!! location & later start 10.30am
This is our *brand new* Monday morning SU&W meetup, now at a more central & BVG-friendly location at Exclusive Coffee (upstairs), a stone's throw from S & U Jannowitzbrücke station, and also at a more civil start time of 10.30am. The cafe also takes CARDS (hurrah!).
We are going to be seated together at the big table on the 1st floor of the cafe.*
As usual there will be two sessions of writing, each lasting 45 minutes, and two breaks.
- The first writing session will start at 10:45 am.
- Second session will start at 11:45 am.
*Or if you prefer you can also sit at the smaller tables dotted around the big table, or at the long counter running the whole length of the massive windows with magnificient views of the Spree river, or the Chinese Embassy.
(In summer they have a rotating vertical fan which works really well to keep the space nice & cool.)
Unfortunately cafes in Berlin are getting less and less laptop-friendly, so please don't forget to order your drink or snack to support the cafe. When ordering you can also ask them for *free wifi code* should you require it.
If you are new to the meetup, don't worry, just come and say hi to us. As well as the organiser we have many long-term regulars who will be more than happy to help you out and to make you feel welcome.
We also have a Telegram chat: https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw
For more information, visit:
https://shutupwrite.com
So come along, grab a drink or snack, chat for 15 minutes, then shoosh & scribble. 😊

**About Me**
Hi! I’m Anastasia. I started our writing club back in May 2025, hosted weekly at the Heinrich Schulz Library (thanks to them, it’s free every Saturday!). With time we have grown and now we also meet on every second Tuesday and Sunday at the cafe. Over time, I’ve been lucky to meet some of the most creative and kind minds in Berlin. Happy to host our second Open Mic and see what all of you have prepared.
This event is an invitation to celebrate your words and the magic that happens when we speak them out loud together.
Looking forward to meeting you all — and hearing your voices.
I WRITE @ Iska Café – A Cozy Silent Writing Club
Welcome to **I WRITE**, a gentle space for anyone who wants to write—quietly, freely, and without judgement.
We are a Berlin community of writers who gather together weekly to write, talk and recharge after a long week. Some of us journal, some write novels, some do academic writing, many people come without a project in mind and see where the inspiration flow takes them. This is a space to simply show up and write, a safe place to be yourself and to release all your layers onto the paper.
There’s no set topic, no feedback circle, and no pressure. Just warm people, a calm atmosphere, and time dedicated to yourself.
🗓️ **Agenda:**
* 18:30 - 19:00 **→** 30 min arriving, optional socialising (arrive early, meet other writers)
* 19:00 - 20:00 **→** 1 hour of silent writing (headphones welcome, focus encouraged)
* 20:00–20:30 **→** 30 mins optional chat or solo time (stay and chat or go celebrate the rest of your evening)
🎒 **Bring:**
* Something to write with (laptop, notebook, phone, typewriter… anything goes)
* Your current project or a blank page
* Yourself, exactly as you are
**👉 Responsibility:**
* Our location is limited; thus, I am kindly asking you to RSVP only if you are willing to attend.

**About me:**
Hi, my name is Anastasia. I started this writing club back in May 2025. Since then, it has been hosted weekly at the Heinrich Schulz Library and is now extended to the Café as well. Over this time, I’ve been privileged to meet some of the most creative and kind minds in Berlin. And I would be happy if you joined us. Whether you're an experienced writer or just at the beginning of your journey, you're welcome. If you know how to hold a pen or how to type, there will always be a space for you.
Let's write together!
SU&W Sunday, in-person at Schöneberg
Hello fellow writers,
This is our Sunday meet-up at café Peppe.
Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write!
There will be two sessions of writing, each lasting 45 minutes, and two breaks.
\- The first writing session will start at 10:45 am\.
\- Second session will start at 11:45 am\.
PS: We have limited space of 18 peoples. Please sign up accordingly.
See you all on Sunday.
SU&W In-person Mitte
Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write! We will do at least two sessions of each 45 minutes of writing and two breaks. We will start the first writing session at 11:15.
**For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come**. We often have a large waiting list, and not updating your RSVP or not showing up if you do RSVP yes means that others miss out. We also ask that if you do change your RSVP, do it with reasonable notice. Thanks! We typically take over all of the cafe, but try to share tables if you can to allow space for other customers.
If you are new, come and say hello, as we know that suddenly going quiet for 45 minutes and staring at that blank page can be intimidating when it's your first time. We have a lot of long-term regulars who will be happy to help you feel welcome.
In between sessions, we have a Telegram chat: https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw

**Was dich erwartet:**

Shut Up & Write!™ Easton Town Center
We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator.
Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking!
• What we'll do
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros.
10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you!
• What to bring
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.
See you at The Café on Saturday!
Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for July is "Shoes"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
