Sunday boardgame meetup
Our free-of-charge meet-up in the Black Sheep Pub on Capel Street.
This is a casual meet up for people who want to play boardgames. Lots of people bring plenty of games and rules will always be explained so don't worry if you're new to the hobby and you don't have anything to bring along or think you won't know how to play.
The meet-up runs for the whole day but late comers always welcome, you just may have to wait a little for a game to open up but games will be starting and ending throughout the day.
**IMPORTANT!**
**The meet up is free of charge but we do ask that people support the bar by buying food and/or drink. The bar is very accommodating to us and it's important that we support them in return. Bringing in outside food or drink is completely unacceptable.**
Check out the comments below where people will say what games they are bringing and express your interest in joining if interested.
Any questions contact either of the organisers Gavin or Stephen.
Prohibition at Incognito Escape Rooms - 4 spots left!
**Prohibition ** at Incognito Escape Room - 4 spots left! (Old Wall location)
Step into the 1920s and outwit the law in "Prohibition," where you transform a bustling speakeasy into a serene non-alcoholic pub before the police swoop in. Can you keep the party going undercover?
Groups are limited to five people. Payment must be made in order to confirm your spot.
3 people must attend in order for the escape room to go ahead.
Let’s play... Mothership / Eldritch Defenders
Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games. All materials provided and rules are explained at the start of each game, you just need to bring your imagination.
🎭 **This week's facilitators:**
* 🚀 **Wojtek** continues our unofficial *Mothership* month with *Another Bug Hunt*. The colonists on Samsa-VI have lost contact with the Company. But they've gained contact with something else. The players' crew must re-establish communications with a remote terraforming colony. However, when they arrive they find an abandoned colony and the remains of a bloody assault...
* 🧚♀️ **Emil** bringing court into session with *Eldritch Defenders*, in which you'll play public attorneys defending supernatural beings from legal jeopardy. The Eldritch Defenders law firm takes on the unnavigable cases and bureaucracies of infernal realms, faerie oaths and the machinations of the darkness. Also the more mundane things, such as what happens when a ghost owes a debt that doesn't technically terminate when they did.

Bígí linn do ghlanadh trá trí Ghaeilge le Craobh na Coille, deis chun aire a thabhairt don timpeallacht, an Ghaeilge a úsáid i suíomh nádúrtha, agus bualadh le daoine eile sa phobal.
Tar éis beimid ag bailiú le chéile ar an trá le haghaidh tae, brioscaí agus ciorcal comhrá neamhfhoirmiúil. Tá fáilte ar gach leibhéal Gaeilge ó thosaitheoirí go cainteoirí líofa.
Téann gach pingin a bhailítear ón imeacht seo go díreach chuig an Gaelic Woodland Project, carthanas Éireannach atá ag bailiú airgid chun forais nádúrtha a bhunú ar fud na hÉireann.

Columbus HUG January: Learn Infrastructure-as-Code Through Minecraft
## Learn Infrastructure-as-Code (the FUN Way) — Through Minecraft 🎮☁️
**Joint Meetup: Azure CBUS × Columbus HashiCorp User Group**
What if learning Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code didn’t feel like a whitepaper… but more like a game?
Join us for a joint Azure CBUS and Columbus HashiCorp User Group meetup where **Mark Tinderholt** \(Principal Architect\, Microsoft Azure \| HashiCorp Ambassador \| “The Azure Terraformer”\) shows how **Minecraft** can be used as a surprisingly powerful way to understand real-world Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
In this session, Mark will demonstrate how Terraform and Azure can be used to provision, configure, and manage Minecraft servers—while teaching the same patterns you’d use for production cloud infrastructure.
### What we’ll cover
* Infrastructure-as-Code fundamentals using **Terraform**
* Provisioning real infrastructure on **Azure**
* Applying **IaC best practices** (immutability, repeatability, versioning)
* How playful environments like Minecraft make complex concepts *click*
* Why learning through experimentation beats click-ops every time
### Who should attend
* Developers, platform engineers, and cloud engineers
* Terraform users (new or experienced)
* Anyone curious about Infrastructure-as-Code but tired of boring examples
* Minecraft fans who want to see it used in a totally unexpected way
No prior Minecraft experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn infrastructure the fun way.
Come for the blocks, stay for the Terraform. 🧱➡️📐
