We have planned another exciting event.
**Place & Language:**
Place: Isolutions AG, The Circle 38, 8058 Zürich (Hybrid with Teams)
Language: EN
**Session 1: Automated deployment of Azure SQL VM with PowerShell**
Description:
If you need to deploy (almost fully) automated an Azure SQL VM on a frequent basis, this session may be for you. You can use PowerShell, a language that a lot SQL Server DBAs know; and you can use your knowledge of this language for your advantage, so that you have an infrastructure as code solution to deploy your Azure SQL Server. I am going to show you how to do this, including restoring a SQL Server from a network attached file storage within your VM.

Learn programming with Python, Java, Javascript, C(++) or ...
Dies ist ein informelles Treffen für Lernende, die ihre ersten Schritte in der Programmierung machen oder ihre Grundkenntnisse vertiefen möchten.
***
This is an informal meetup, for learners that want to do their first steps in programming or want to consolidate their skills.
We spend one hour and a half working on tutorials, exercises or projects. If you need help to get started, we will help you finding a good way for learning.
You should be prepared to spend your time "doing things": just hanging around and listening might get boring, if all other people are learning on their side.
There are experienced people are around and you can ask questions as soon as their arise or bring with you questions you have had during the week.
During the last half an hour, we do a (simple) exercise together.
We speak German, English, and a few other languages.
Currently, how main programming languages are:
* Python
* Javascript
* Java
* Flutter
* C++
* C
* C#
* PHP
But you're free to learn any programming language during our Co-Learning!
If you want to learn more about our Co-Learning, please have a look at our website (no frequent updates...):
https://opentechschool-zurich.github.io/
If you're starting with Python, we can suggest:
* Learning Python the hard way (https://learnpythonthehardway.org/python3/) (for Python 3).
* The Solo Learn Python 3 Tutorial (https://www.sololearn.com/Course/Python/).

Agentic Software Modernization: Back to the Roots

**WHY?** we ❤️ **uniting people** and building **community** while having **fun!** We truly believe that **fun meaningful offline connections** to new & existing friends makes us truly happy and healthy! Our community meets **every 2 Fridays** in a **homey,** caring and **welcoming** "come as you are" environment !
.
**WHAT is this event?** We are not a "party or drinks" meetup, nor we follow a "forced" process and agenda. Instead, we are a **Connection Community** inspired by Greek village cafes and Swiss Stammtisch — a welcoming environment where neighbours gathered as equals to share stories and build lasting friendships. We meet in a "**fixed-rhythm**" every 2 Fridays in a **homey** & **lovingly-hosted space** so you can connect with new and familiar faces. We provide **several optional activities** to help you **connect** with others—so you're free to **explore what resonates** with you! Together these activities create a unique **Connection** **Event.**
.
**HOW? Today's activities** are:
* **new comer area** (never was easier to spark a conversation, with ice-breakers, optional for first time attendees)
* **fun social games** (like "cards against humanity" and more - read game names below)
* **mindful games** (no small talk, connect deeper, from [The School of Life](https://www.theschooloflife.com/shop/?_product_type=games-card-sets) \- read game names below\)
* \*\* 20:00 - 20:30 Speed-friending\*\* (glass room on ground floor) guaranteed process to meet spark new fun discussions and meet new people - with moderator)
* \*\* 20:30 - 21:00\*\* **Team Versus Team Playful games** (glass room on ground floor) to stop being so serious, stop adulthood and be silly !
* \*\* 22:00 - 00:00\*\* **Dance Party** (glass room on ground floor) lets dance the week away with reggaeton & hits
* beautiful **homey** industrial location in downtown ZH
* **German-speaking** area (falls du nur Deutsch sprechen möchtest)
* \*\* chill-zones\*\* in private quiet rooms (if you want to talk or play games in quietness)
* or simply **hang-out** and **meet new & old friends** **without** a process ❤️
.
.
.
**TIPS on how to connect:**
* **Look out for a good smile/vibe** in a person/group of 2-3 people and say "Hi my name is xxx, can I join?".
* **Try something different** (person, game, table, activity) often until you find **fun** **quality connection.** We have a lot of activities
* **Ask** **Support:** we understand going out to meet friends can be a stretch. We make this easy with a fun and safe event. Also you can ask for help from our clearly communicated (see photos of this event) "**People Connectors**" who can help you discreetly to connect with others
* **Invest time**(not quickly just come by) as friendships are an investment
* **Come back**: big turnaround, people come randomly at each event, so you never know who you ll meet
.
.
**.**
**Some final words:**
* **Bravo** **to you** for the courage to go out to meet new people! We know **everyone is unique** \- thats why we got a big new\-comer area\, 4 co\-hosts welcoming and connecting you\, and many activities for you to **choose** from to find what **suits you**!
* **Weather?** Event takes place rain or shine, with indoors rooms and outdoors area that is ultra rain-protected
* **Coming late?** no problem, we got many people until closing at 00:00 so come whenever!
* **Too many attendees?** no problem, we got the space! Also as per the "what" above: you define what makes the event meaningful for you! Furthermore, the co-organisers have one goal: to say hi and introduce you to the event and people (if you want to please ask)! Finally remember: you dont have to talk to everyone, focus in a few people! Less is more! If you dont know where to start look for a good smile or an activity more matching to you. From there keep on trying people and activities..
* **Why so many options above for connection?** We always have: a first-timer area, Fun social games, Mindful games, ice-breaker questions or simply just talk freely to anyone. Often we add: Speed-friending and a Music jam. We believe **you are unique** and each of us prefers different ways of connection. Also we want to provide an opportunity for everyone to try something new
* **Easy and Safe:** We have the whole location reserved for us so its safe to open up and meet new friends (unlike bars in Zürich where people find it strange if strangers talk to them). Christos and volunteers will also help with connection. Read more info below.
* **Christos** (see [PHOTO](https://photos.app.goo.gl/pdtVaVGCyDEJ28uE8)) and our co-organisers will be wearing name budges and will aim to **welcome** **everyone.**
* more info via our **[LINKS](http://linktr.ee/connectionspace)**
* Yes YOU are **good** & **courageous** for looking for new fun connections!
* Everyone is in same situation and you ll be surprised how **friendly people** are ❤️
* Come **early** though **later** also ok as many people there **until 00:00**
* **It works**! We heard of many new friendships, living together and even getting a new job
* **Mindful Connection Games:** from [The School of Life](https://www.theschooloflife.com/shop/?_product_type=games-card-sets) available: Confessions Game, The Friendship Game, Connection Game, The Loser Game, Games for grown-ups and three sets of "100 questions" (Conversation Toolkit & Careers & Relationships)
* **Fun Social Games:** bring your own **board/card games** or choose from: Cards against humanity, Exploding Kittens, Codenames, Debatable, Sotally Tober, Taboo, Mafia, Uno, Monopoly and more.

ZH3 Hash # 1711: The Down Out After Back On Under Hash
Hares (who set the route) are Spermalbad and Christian Harlot.
**Where**:
Meet at the lockers in Bhf Stadelhofen (https://maps.app.goo.gl/kS6gV8DsSq5soo9r6, or [https://w3w.co/wording.salad.pastels](https://w3w.co/wording.salad.pastels)). Look for English speakers wearing something approximating to running gear.
**When:**
We'll meet at 6:50 pm to start at 7:00 pm.
There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers as much beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) as you can drink afterwards, plus snacks.
**On After:**
The clue is in the title. It's between Gleis 1 and Stadelhoferstrasse.
**All Welcome:**
If you are curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know:
• We are a social running/walking group - physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour helps.
• The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun.
• 'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further.
• The '*Hare*', which changes with each event (along with the location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with chalk and/or flour markings) so that everyone reaches the end at about the same time.
• There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change.
• Headlamps are highly recommended during the winter months, especially if we go into the woods, which is often the case.
• **After Trail**, we group in the '*Circle*' for 30-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This is usually outside, so bring warm, dry clothes to change into. If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We often go to a nearby restaurant for the 'On After' afterwards.
**Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?**
If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it.
'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and traditions can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.*
We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups.

CBusData - Discover the Power of Window Functions
Window functions have nothing to do with the Windows operating system but provide a “window” to a result set when used in SQL queries. They are powerful, set-based methods to view data in unexpected ways. Window functions provide easy, set-based solutions to solve some common problems:
* Using running totals
* Performing operations in intervals
* Identifying data gaps and islands
* Performing aggregates without losing detail
Many people are confused by window functions and do not know how to use them properly. This session will explore window functions, how they work, and how to use them. Demonstrations with several examples will solidify how window functions can simplify queries and make them more powerful.
COUNT Discussion Meeting: Topic: Current Events
We may pick a specific topic and post in advance or may discuss current events and various ad hoc topics . We would love to spend time hanging out and getting to know one another.
Atheist, agnostics, other non-theists, and atheist-friendly people are welcome to join us.
Note: COUNT operates a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/groups/COUNT.discussions (http://www.facebook.com/groups/COUNT.discussions/) to promote discussions among members and visitors.
Go Build & Learn
Meeting @ Improving's office in Downtown Columbus, near Cosi. Parking is paid, food & drink are free!
This time we're hanging out after the long winter break. We are going to look at a group-member's project used to help learn the fundamentals of Go, and if time allows, we can take a look at how we like to build Go projects using AI.
COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above.
There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change.
The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/).
Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. The YMCA reserves the right to run background checks on volunteers.
For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, awhit12@yahoo.com, (614)937-5802 (cell). Please let Andrew know if you volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that he can count your hours toward our service record.
