Saturday Afternoon GBK Park Walk and Talk + Lucy in the Sky Dinner and Drinks
**Let's escape the hustle and bustle of Jakarta with a late afternoon stroll through Senayan GBK Park and make some new friends along the way!**
Senayan GBK Park is located in the heart of the city and is a nice place to visit and explore. Starting from Entrance 7 (Pintu 7), we will walk around and through the park and then over to Senayan Park Complex.
Afterwards, we'll go to Lucy in the Sky at Spark, located on the rooftop of Senyan Park Mall for some refreshing drinks and food. This last part is optional for people who want to go.
The walk will be a casual stroll around several connecting parks. The walk will take approximately 1:30 hours.
We will meet just outside Entrance 7 near the main road.
Please be on time, as once we start the walk it will be very difficult to locate us. However, we will post the live location on the WhatsApp Group chat.
This is a fun and social event, and everyone is encouraged to get to know each other and make new friends.
**📢 IMPORTANT: Attendance Reconfirmation Required**
To ensure accurate headcounts and reduce no-shows, we're implementing an updated reconfirmation system for all events.
**Here's how it works:**
* All events start with unlimited RSVPs.
* 4 days before each event, a reconfirmation form will be posted in the event comments and shared in the WhatsApp group.
* You must reconfirm ASAP by submitting the form. Your spot is guaranteed only after you reconfirm.
* The form closes once we reach the target attendance number.
* Anyone who hasn’t reconfirmed when the form closes will be removed from the attendee list.
* If you can’t attend, change your status to Not Going.
**Two‑strike rule: If you don’t reconfirm and don’t change to Not Going two times, you will be removed from the group.**
Thanks for helping us keep things running smoothly. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

If you are new to this community...
If you are just thinking about picking up pen and paper...

This event is **exactly** for you! Let's connect and informally share our plans, propositions, ambitions, and needs to achieve our best possible writing results in 2026!
Come with specific goals to share, specific questions to ask, or just to get inspired by fellow writers. **We do not judge each other** and measure others' success against ours, but seek inspiration and ways to help and elevate each other.
Feel free to share your past successes and failures, and use them to inform (us) on how the year ahead should look like for your writing.
Specifically, I invite you to share your feedback on what a Meetup community like this can do to help you as a writer. **This will help create even more, even better events for 2026** which I plan to do with the new group "[How to Become a Writer](https://www.meetup.com/how-to-become-a-writer/)" There will still be writing events on Jakarta Creatives, of course.

FRIDAY NIGHT PIZZA 🍕 with Jakarta Friends
Hey, friend in Jakarta! Now that you joined JakFri... **are you a member of [Jakarta Creatives](https://www.meetup.com/jakarta-creatives/) yet?** Want to see **pictures** of past events? **[Take a look here!](https://www.meetup.com/jakarta-friends/photos/)** And feel free to upload a few pictures you might take at the event 😊
JakFri and JakCre is **THE** biggest, most active, and most inclusive MeetUp community in Jakarta... and we invite you to join us for **PIZZA NIGHT 🍕 at Zapoli Pizzeria in Menteng!**
Everyone is always welcome to join our events. Our community is all about creating authentic in-person connections in this urban jungle.
Come as you are... it’s the best version of yourself.
**ABOUT THE EVENT**
It's Firday night! Let's have the most delicious Neapoletan pizza in Jakarta at **Pizzeria Zapoli in MENTENG**. This is a new outlet from Zapoli and around the corner of MRT Bundaran HI.
Neapoletan pizza means soft dough and simple ingredients. The pizza is cooked in a typical wood-fire oven for just a few minutes, and the ingredients remain very fresh.
**ABOUT THE VENUE**
Here's their IG: [https://instagram.com/zapoli](https://instagram.com/zapoli)
The menu isn't big; the quality is. Pizza starts at around 70k up to around 140k. Pizzeria Zapoli have artisanal soda which is refreshing with the salty, spicy pizza.
The place is 100% Halal. On their Instagram I read "no reservation" and "BYOB" (and your own glass with it). We might need to wait a bit to get a seat.
The restaurant closes at 10 PM and after dinner we can go together to have a drink in a place nearby (location to be decided together).
The place is small, and attendance to this event is limited to 6 persons. If you cannot join, please **update your RSVP at least 24h before the event** as respect to the organiser and people in the waitlist. **No-shows will be kicked out of the group.**
Be on time as we want to eat together. Do not be early as we want to eat together. Just come and enjoy the company of new and old Jakarta Friends. **Everyone is welcome to join.**
As no reservation is possible, we might need to wait a bit until a table big enough for us will be free. From experience, this should not take long.

Session Abstract
**Data on Fire: A Hands-On Intro to Spark in Fabric**
Curious about Apache Spark but not sure where to start? This hands-on session introduces you to Spark in Microsoft Fabric Notebooks—a powerful and accessible way to process and analyze big data using familiar tools in the Microsoft ecosystem.
We’ll break down key Spark concepts like distributed computing, DataFrames, and lazy evaluation, then show how they come to life inside Fabric’s notebook experience. You’ll see practical demos that cover loading, transforming, and analyzing large datasets—while leveraging Fabric’s modern data stack, including OneLake, Dataflows, and Pipelines.
You’ll also learn how to choose between Spark and pure Python notebooks in Fabric, based on execution needs, data integration, and use case fit.
Whether you're a SQL pro, BI developer, or data engineer, this session will give you the tools and confidence to start using Spark in your own projects—no cluster management required.
\*Please note, that we will be using Microsoft Teams for the online portion of this meeting. You may want to join a few minutes early to ensure you do not have any issues. If you are attending in person, there are large TVs at the office, and you do not need to bring a laptop or use Teams.

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
• Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
• Show up and try it out.
• Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
• Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
• Attend orientation in advance.
• At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
• Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
• Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
DoJo (Informal Python Meeting)
**New Dojo Location!**
**Draft Day Columbus**
1130 Dublin Road
Columbus, OH 43215
We're going to try a new dojo location for a few weeks and see how it works
Dojos are informal Python group study sessions where everyone interested in Python gathers to learn about Python, help others with Python, or just hang out. Everyone is welcome from Python beginners to experts. Bringing a laptop is encouraged (we'll have extension cords and power strips). If there's something you want to learn leave a comment on this invite so we can plan ahead.
We're looking for topic suggestions and people interested in presenting at our monthly meetings. To this end we've set up a survey form at [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/15eBKF1nQQ2XS5gzD4rvhVRHMBEj7lJtHuA9wXupS3Uc](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/15eBKF1nQQ2XS5gzD4rvhVRHMBEj7lJtHuA9wXupS3Uc)
COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above.
There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change.
The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/).
Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. The YMCA reserves the right to run background checks on volunteers.
For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, awhit12@yahoo.com, (614)937-5802 (cell). Please let Andrew know if you volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that he can count your hours toward our service record.
