Hello everyone! We climb at Crystal City Movement every Monday. Please read rest of the description carefully. We mostly do tope rope climbing but we can arrange bouldering sessions as well. If you prefer lead climbing please post on the comments to find your belay partner. ## Requirements * If you are not a Movement member, you'll get a daily pass. If you don't have the equipments you can rent them in the gym. * Please sign the waiver through: https://movementgyms.com/waiver/ * You can get a discounted day pass and free rental gear if you say you are here for my meetup All skill levels are welcome! If you are totally new to climbing and want to do top rope, then you have to have a belay certificate. In order to do that; * You can check Movement gym Intro to Rope Climbing class : https://movementgyms.com/crystal-city/climbing/classes/ * After the course, you should do the 'Belay Check' which can be done as soon as 24 hours after you take the class. The test takes around 15 mins so it can be done before the climbing session. Baltimore's largest dance floor and a favorite club for many years. Dance lessons start at 7:00 pm for beginner level, and at 7:45 pm for intermediate level. We'd love to climb with you as soon as you know how to belay safely using a GriGri. To find us, go past the front desk and turn left. We'll gather by the fitness room entrance. Our 3rd Annual DC Tree Hike is back to illuminate your dark December night! This year, we're embracing the Norwegian concept of *'friluftsliv', (*"open-air life") - the love of the outdoors, despite the weather. Join us for a easy 4.5-mile hike around Washington, DC. We'll visit tree displays at Union Station, the U.S. Capitol, the Canadian Embassy, the Ellipse and City Center DC to take in all the sights and sounds of the winter season along Pennsylvania Avenue. We will start our hike outside of the Downtown Holiday Market adjacent to the National Portrait Gallery and Gallery Place Metro. Arrive early and enjoy the Downtown Holiday Market before the hike. We'll gather at the Portrait Gallery stairs on 7th and F Streets NW (across from Capital One Arena) We'll depart promptly at 6:30pm and keep a steady walking pace to keep our toes and hearts warm. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
