En 2025, 62% des personnes interrogées s’identifiaient comme exclusivement taïwanaises, 25% comme exclusivement chinois, tandis que 46% disent s’identifier comme à la fois taïwanais et chinois. En 1991, seulement 17.6% s’identifiaient comme taïwanais. **Que signifie ce changement ?** Pékin affirme aujourd’hui que l’île de Taïwan lui appartient et menace d’annexer par tous les moyens cette démocratie de facto indépendante,…Mais au delà de cette menace, on prend rarement le temps de parler de Taïwan et de sa population de plus de 23 millions d’habitants dont les vies basculeraient dans le cas d’une invasion chinoise. Taïwan abrite une société multiculturelle qui, au travers des siècles, a subi les colonisations espagnoles, hollandaises, japonaises, et enfin la terrible loi martiale des nationalistes chinois de Chiang-Kai Shek. Comment se définir alors comme peuple ? Et puis au fond qu’est-ce qu’une “identité nationale” ? Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. **BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled!
