**The Tourmaline Tower's** A fabled dungeon that's long been played out of anything dangerous. Refurbished and converted after the S-rank party Fabuleuse broke the dungeon's core, these days it's where retired adventurers go for some R&R. But weirdly, things have started to happen to this sacred spa and sauna and it's left to its staff and tourists to find out what's going on - wthout weapons, armor, and all things dungeon! It's a game in which you never know where the next stop will be, because it’s all down to the decisions you and your fellow players make. Usually one person is the Game Master (or "GM"). Everyone else will be players, taking the role of the characters in the game. The players get to say what their characters say, think, and do. The GM describes everything else in the world. Then... we play to find out what happens. The game is a conversation: I say something, then you reply, maybe someone else chimes in. We talk about what's happening to the characters we imagine and the world around them. We also talk about the rules, which help us decide what happens next if the next step is in doubt. The rules differ from game to game: some use dice to shape the story, others use cards or something else. It's always a conversation, though.

Local members of Ohio Paper Folders are invited to our home Fourth of July cookout and fireworks show. This will be on Sat July 4th. This is a four grill (plus a big-ass smoker) cookout with burgers, brats, veggi burgers, salmon burgers, roasted corn and lots of sides (feel free to bring a side). The fireworks show is...huge. 760 mortars plus four tables of multi-shot cakes. (anything worth doing is worth over-doing). We start cooking around 5:00 PM, end when everyone is stuffed. Fireworks just after sundown, so around 9:30 PM. We have an air conditioned building where people hang out and eat. We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator. Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking! • What we'll do Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros. 10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
