This event has a different topic each time and includes a variety of interactive exercises. It's an engaging and creative way to express ourselves, and connect with how others think, feel and deal with life. We will aim to provide a supportive and safe environment and open up about our lives freely.
A lot of times we don't talk about what we are really going through because we are worried of what people might think of us. This causes us to bottle things up, feel disconnected with the people around us or feel ashamed of ourselves.
Anything you share in the session is confidential and shall not be disclosed outside of the room.
Please only RSVP if you intend to come and change your RSVP to 'No' if you are not going to be able to attend.

The Jam: The Circle Session ⭕️
**The Heart of the Circle** ❤️ The Circle Session is where the art breathes. It is a dedicated space for songwriters 🎸, poets 📖, comedians 🎤, and storytellers 🗣️ to find their ground, test their craft, and connect.
**We all sit in a circle**, removing the barrier between "performer" and "audience". It is a collaborative laboratory 🧪 where a new chord progression might meet a spoken-word verse, or a storyteller finds the perfect rhythm.
**Practice. Share. Connect.** ✨ This is a **safe space for all levels**. Whether you are a seasoned pro or sharing your work for the first time, you are among peers. We focus on:
* **The Craft:** A low-pressure room to test rough drafts and "work out" new material. 🛠️
* **The Collaboration:** Exchange chords, ideas, and feedback to help each other grow. 🤝
* **Join the Beat:** We provide **shakers** 🪇 for those who want to join the rhythm and feel the vibe!
* **The Social:** We don't just stay in the room. We **organise** regular **social nights out** 🍻 for all attendees, so the friendships made in the circle continue outside of it! 🕺
**Technical Setup** ⚡️ We provide the essentials so you can focus on the performance:
* **PA System:** 3 channels available if a plug-in is required.
* **Mics & Gear:** Microphones, cables, and a sheet stand with a light provided. 🎼
* **Keyboards:** A keyboard can be set up for the evening—just please **ask in advance!** 🎹

**Ryan Curtis - Guest Speaker**
Ryan is making remarkable progress after being paralyzed from the neck down and “close to death” MMA fighter Ryan 'Chaos' Curtis suffered a broken back, broken neck .and dislocated spine during a training session.
He will join us for his speech on his miracle recovery after being told he would never walk again.
A typical Toastmasters International meeting, you will experience a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment designed to help people grow in confidence and communication skills.
Meetings usually include prepared speeches from members, where speakers practise everything from storytelling and presentations to leadership and persuasion skills. We also have a “Topics” session, where members can volunteer to answer light-hearted or thought-provoking questions with short impromptu speeches — a great way to build confidence thinking on your feet.
In addition, meetings may include a poem or an educational spot where members share tips on public speaking, communication, or leadership skills. Constructive and supportive feedback is also provided to help speakers improve in a positive and encouraging way.
Most importantly, guests are under absolutely no pressure to participate or speak. You are very welcome to simply attend, observe, and get a feel for how the meetings work before deciding if it is something you would enjoy.
Rooted Together in Harmony Singing & Voice Journey
These group harmony singing and vocal exploration sessions are for anyone who is longing to connect to themselves and others through the voice in service to a more loving world.
These 5 weekly Thursday night sessions which run from 30 Apr to 28 May, are all about freeing your voice, singing in harmony and feeling part of a community of warm, friendly people. We will continue till 2 July, so you can also enrol on another 5 week set after this one if you feel inspired to keep going!
Over the course of these sessions we will explore together what it is like to cultivate a sense of **being enough (with less effort)**. This is a radical rejection of the ideology of self-improvement, productivity, speed, talent, growth and individualism which we are surrounded by. When we sing, we work intimately with worries around what we sound like, whether the sounds we are making are acceptable, whether we are ‘doing it right’ and ultimately whether we are enough. As we notice these thoughts and feelings, we can invite the ease with which we were born to return. We also work intimately with liberation of our breath and body.
> In these sessions you will be invited to become more aware of opportunities to try less, let go more and you will learn about how to support your voice through diaphragmatic breathing and somatic connection.
Humans have gathered to use their voices as tools for healing, prayer, divination, plant communication, echoes of topography, expressions of identity, creators of harmony and much more but music and singing have been reduced largely to entertainment and big business in modern capitalist culture. In these sessions we **reclaim our voices as technologies of connection and enchantment**. Singing is not for the few, it is our birthright and a means to better health and wellbeing. We will experience beauty not only in the aesthetics of our voices but in their authenticity and capacity to connect us. We do not have to sound or look beautiful to *be* beautiful as we are all miraculous beings simply by existing. Singing is one of the most powerful tools to connect and bond human beings so as we sing together, you will experience a sense of being held in a container of human sound, a balm for the soul. You may even experience a sense of ‘interbeing’, a deep sense of interconnectedness and non-duality. Contrary to what we are told, us humans are not on this Earth to compete with and dominate each other.
> We are all leaves of the same tree, cells of the same organism, stewards of the same Earth.
This course will also be rooted in what we can **learn from Indigenous and traditional cultures and from living systems (nature)**. We will sing songs which connect us to our ancestral lineages and to the Earth. We will musically explore and celebrate concepts from the Global South such as Ubuntu (a set of related African value systems emphasising interconnectedness) and Buen Vivir (a Latin American concept describing living well as sustainably living in harmony within a community including humans and nature) as well as those from closer to home such as ‘*Dinnseanchas’, meaning* lore and knowledge of place and ‘d*úchas’* (heritage and wildness, a sense of where you come from, to whom and to where you belong).
This course is open to all, regardless of how you sound and previous experience.
The Facilitator:
Rachel is a song leader with a background in ethnomusicology and has spent time with many communities around the
world facilitating and researching music making, Rachel is also an educator and uses music and singing as a tool for for learning and changemaking in the areas of wellbeing, diversity, sustainability, social justice and community building
community.

[FREE] Mystery Walk (Luas + Walk) - Southside Route 4
IMPORTANT: Please have a Leap card with money on it before you join us for this walk as we are travelling by Luas after we meet.
Hello! 🙂
Meeting place: Pret A Manger - beside Harcourt Luas.
Meeting time: 10am onwards.
Departure time: 1030am sharp.
I'll tell you the plan when you arrive.
Basically, we take a Luas together south from Harcourt and we walk.
The route is approximately 16km.
There will be time for coffee/cake, toilets etc.
We start and finish at a Luas stop on the Green Line.
If you live in south Dublin along the Green Line, you are welcome to message me the day before this event to ask me which Luas stop we are going to and you can join us there instead of having to come to the cory centre. Though you are welcome to join the group at the start at Pret beside Harcourt if you prefer.
This event is free though donations (cash or Revolut) are very much welcome as I renew my organiser subscription annually in the Summer and I prefer to cover this cost of $215 (they invoice us in dollars) through optional donations in the Summer instead of having a set fee per event. Thanks!
Note / Disclaimer: Attending this event and every event in this group is entirely in every possible way at your own risk.
Any questions, message me.
PLEASE don't cancel on the day or forget to join us.
It's important you join us if you sign up as it means people on the waiting list lose out if you don't take your place.
If you're new, please don't be shy, message me if you have any questions, and you can either join us inside Pret or join us as we wait the last 5 minutes outside Pret before going to the Luas.
Thanks!
Alan

Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.

The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.

Happy writing!

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
