In this small and intimate vocal lab in Sarrià, we’ll explore the voice as a living instrument: connecting breath, body and sound in a supportive and playful environment. Si te ayudan a entender más y a hablar mejor están genial. El plan de este grupo es mejorar tu español con juegos, actividades reales y ejercicios para hablar más. Con la excusa de los juegos y las actividades corregimos la mayoría de errores: Palabras difíciles, confundir pasados, preposiciones, verbos que significan muchas cosas, ser y estar en pasado, frases con dos verbos o mas, subjuntivo, expresiones coloquiales, y también los errores "culturales”: ¿De que forma usamos los españoles el idioma en diferentes situaciones? La gente que participa es (casi siempre) muy simpática, y normalmente deja reviews muy positivas de las clases. Si te cuadra el plan ven a practicar tu español y hablamos de comida, de viajes, de trabajo, de cultura, de Internet, de temas locales, de noticias y de muchas más cosas. All the games and activities are a good excuse to correct the most difficult/ frequent mistakes: Difficult words, confusing past tenses, prepositions, verbs that mean many things, ser and estar in the past, sentences with two or more verbs, subjuntive, colloquial expressions, and also “cultural" mistakes: How we, Spanish people, use the language in different situations? People participating are (almost always) very nice, and usually leave very positive reviews of the classes. **BCRG first Sunday of the month social ride** **What to Expect:** This is a monthly riding event that the organizers of BRCG created to socialize between the different groups and levels of the participants of this meetup. Every organizer shares the details of his ride below and you can attend signing up for the event and answering the name of the organizer you will go with. The Unity of Columbus Resource Group for the Homeless is seeking compassionate volunteers who would like to help serve and uplift members of our homeless community. This group is dedicated to sharing kindness, resources, and support with individuals who may be experiencing difficult circumstances. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area. The topic for May is "Ink" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros. 10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary.
