**ADDITIONAL INFO**
Since restarting the event in 2023 we have asked attendees to wear a face mask. This requirement feels incredibly anachronistic these days so at the end of 2025 we decided to drop the requirement. That being said, **we ask everyone showing any signs of illness to be considerate and refrain from attending the event**. FFP2 masks will continue to be available at the door and we support anyone who feels like wearing one to protect themselves and others 💜
Are you attending the event for the first time, or are you coming on your own? The Talk & Play Ambassadors will be there to assist and answers any questions you have.
Our Safe Space Policy http://berlingamescene.com/safe-space-policy/ encourages the behaviour at Talk & Play. We request that everyone who is affiliated with and participates to the event honours it.
Our event is documented by Julian Dasgupta https://www.flickr.com/photos/12601747@N00/albums — for those who don’t want to be appear in any pictures, we're going to distribute stickers at the door to wear and signal this.
Alcoholic drinks will not be sold or allowed to be consumed during the event.
UE is a partially accessible venue. Feel free to contact us about your access requirements.

Free Trial Class: Salsa Cubana (Casino) IV
## **Casino IV**
**🕖 7:00–8:30 PM**
**📍 Kopenhagener Straße 16, 10437 Berlin**
**In this course, we will build on and review the topics from Casino II.**
**To join, you should be familiar with figures such as:**
**enchufla variations, desplazamientos (saloneo / paseos), Coca-Cola, vacílala…**
**We will start adding footwork and arm styling (functional styling) to enrich your dancing while keeping movements clear and connected. ✨**
**As always, we stay true to our philosophy:**
**It’s not the number of figures that makes you a “good dancer” — it’s your communication with your partner and with the music.**
**That’s exactly how this course is structured. 💛**
**If you need more information or are unsure whether this level is right for you, feel free to contact us 😊**
**📧 info@puntocubanoberlin.com**
**📞 +49 155 100 966 28**
**💛 What to Expect from a Free Trial Class**
**If you choose to join a free trial class, please note that you will be joining an ongoing course.**
**The purpose of the trial class is twofold: it gives you the opportunity to get an impression of us as teachers, our teaching style, and the level of the course, while also giving us the opportunity to get to know you as a dancer.**
**We believe that one of the advantages of joining a dance school is being able to trust the teachers' experience and criteria. During the trial class, we not only help you decide whether the course feels right for you, but we also assess whether it is the best fit for your current level and learning journey.**
**Our goal is not simply to place you in a class, but to help you find your happy place within our dance community — the environment where you can learn most comfortably, progress steadily, and enjoy dancing the most.**
**The final decision regarding the level is therefore ultimately ours. If we notice that you are struggling significantly with the material, we may ask you to observe the remainder of the class and recommend a different level instead.**
**This is not meant to embarrass you or make you feel uncomfortable. Quite the opposite: it allows us to stay true to our values regarding technique, learning quality, and the comfort of the students who have been learning and progressing in the course over time.**
**In the long run, you'll probably be grateful for being placed in the level that supports your growth and enjoyment the most. 😊**
**We are very much looking forward to meeting you and dancing with you!**
**Yago, Helen, Pamela, Marion, Leo & Sylvaan**

* **Wednesdays:** **levels A2 to C1**

**If someone arrives much earlier, Denizen may ask them to pay either for a drink (consumption) or for a** **day pass, as the space is a co-working environment during the day.** **Please remember, our event is only happening from 18:00 to 20:00**
**How the Sprachcafé works**
**We use different materials to help participants gain confidence in German. Together with whiteboards and our volunteers, the Sprachcafé is based on** **interactive conversations** **in small groups.**
**Participation fee**
**The Sprachcafé has a** **participation fee of 5 €, which helps cover organizational costs and** **includes one soft drink for free.**
**Tickets can be purchased directly on the day of the event, card and cash payments are accepted.**
**As the Sprachcafé has become very popular, we now need to** **limit the number of participants. Please understand this measure; it ensures that everyone has a comfortable space to practice.**
**We kindly ask you to be** **rücksichtsvoll** **and only RSVP “Yes” if you are certain you can attend.**
**If your plans change at the last minute, please update your RSVP so someone on the waiting list can take your spot.**
**Getting your ticket early can help secure your place.**
**Please note**
**Our event will begin** **promptly** **at the scheduled start time.**
**If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee your participation, even if you have a ticket or have RSVP’d. We encourage all guests to arrive on time to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.**
**About Denizen**
**Denizen is a new-style co-working space focused on being an integral part of local communities. Located on the ground floor of the historic Eiswerk on Köpenicker Straße in Kreuzberg, Denizen House is a communal place providing work, refreshment, and recreational facilities throughout the day. Think of it as a living room for the neighborhood.**

📸 Studio B/W Portrait Photography in Weissense
Join us for our second studio event this year, first in this new studio in [Weissensee](https://studioweissensee.berlin/), for a minimalistic session with 3 models.
**Main theme:**
This all-black-and-white studio session is a deep dive into the mastery of contrast and light. Instead of just taking striking photos, you will deconstruct and replicate the artistic decisions of photography’s greatest masters. You will explore how deep shadows, bright highlights, and texture shape emotion and direct the viewer’s eye.
The session is divided into three distinct technical blocks based on iconic reference styles:
1. **Terry Richardson & Platon:** Minimalist sets, flat direct flash, and raw, high-contrast emotional energy.
2. **Peter Lindbergh:** Cinematic, soft yet directional window light, unretouched skin texture, and honest human emotion.
3. **Hedi Slimane:** Aggressive digital black-and-white, sharp side-lighting, and cold rock-and-roll decadence.
The goal is to understand how light reveals, conceals, separates, and connects. By consciously borrowing these techniques, you will learn to use contrast as a powerful visual and emotional tool with your own subjects.
**💡 Formula**
This rotation-based format is built to maximize your shooting time and creative output. You’ll work across three setups, lighting styles, and models, all in a single session.
* **1-on-1 Shooting:** Dedicated time with each model.
* **Ready-to-Shoot:** Professionally lit, styled environments for varied content.
* **Inspiring Atmosphere:** A focused chance to experiment, connect, and create alongside like-minded photographers.
**👥 Who & What to Expect**
* **Participants:** Up to 12 photographers, divided into 3 rotating groups.
* **Skill Level:** Intermediate and above.
* **The Models:** 3 carefully selected models.

**Abstract**
*Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code*
Visual Studio Code is one of the most widely used development environments today, and much of its flexibility comes from its extension ecosystem. Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs.
In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling.
The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. We’ll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options.
