The 1st Saturday of the month is not an in-person meet-up, but on zoom. All people and all levels welcome, including beginners, whom we are happy to help get started (although we don't run classes). No charge. All you need is some yarn and a crochet hook or a pair of knitting needles. We are very friendly so don't be shy. For those who are still in Brussels the last weekend before Christmas, I propose a somewhat different hike with not one, but two Christmas markets to visit! We will start the hike in the little town of Soignies, best known for its quarries where the famous "pierre bleue" is cut. After about 2 hours we will reach the Chateau de Thieusies, where this weekend the artisanal Christmas market "Chemins de Creation" is held. We will stop for about 1 to 1.5h, depending on how much there is to do. I assume there will also be food, but I can't guarantee, as I've never been there (i.e. bring something for lunch to be on the safe side). From there we'll continue the hike for about another 3 hours to Mons, with its Christmas market taking place on the Grand Place and some other locations, so plenty of opportunities for glühwein, food or whatever reward you feel you deserve at that point ;-) As the number of participants is limited, it is important that you manage your registration responsibly: only sign up if you really intend to come and cancel as soon as you know you can’t (this also goes for people on the waiting list!). We will try to keep close to an average speed of about 5 km/h. We will walk mainly on unpaved roads.
