Little Somewhat Italy and Portugal (5.8 km)
Little Italy and the neighbouring neighbourhood, Little Portugal, are enclaves for the first Italian and Portuguese settlers in Toronto. Today, these neighbourhoods are less distinctly Italian/Portuguese. They have become trendy districts for global food. In fact, they boast the highest density of top-rated restaurants in Toronto.
There are some attractions along the way like murals, an Italian broadcaster, and a Portuguese parkette. But the highlight is undoubtedly the profusion of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.
We'll take a quick detour to Trinity-Bellwoods park before ending at a northern Italian restaurant featuring Lombardy cuisine. No pizzas, just steak, breaded cutlets, and other rich foods.
**Highlights**
1. Dundas St W and Bathurst St southeast corner (depart 6:30pm)
2. Garage door murals at Boxcar Social Laneway
3. Bar Raval
4. Liu Loqum Atelier
5. Italian Walk of Fame / PG Clucks
6. Portuguese Walk of Fame
7. Casa Tropical / The Daily Dumpling Wonton Co
8. Mayil Coffee
9. West End YMCA
10. Gateau Ghost
11. Death In Venice
12. Youngplace
13. Trinity Community Recreation Centre (depart 7:55pm)
14. Harry and Heels California Donuts
15. Stelvio (arrive 8:20pm)

Networking Event for Professionals - Feb 24th, 2026
### THIS IS OUR RESCHEDULED FEB EVENT!
###
\*\*\*\* What is The Hip Haus? \*\*\*\*The Hip Haus is an organization that exists to empower young and experienced professionals alike in the GTA and help the growth of local business. As professionals (especially post pandemic world) it is sometimes difficult to network with other like minded individuals, get good career advice or simply make connections with others you may be able to help or get help from. The Hip Haus is committed to providing social gatherings in an atmosphere where such networking can take place.
\*\*\*\* Who Should Attend? \*\*\*\*The Hip Haus events are ***19+***. The focus however is the growth and development of professionals in the GTA. It doesn’t matter if you are a business owner, have a job, are looking for a job, recently graduated university/college, still in university/college, looking for others to launch a new idea or just want to meet other professionals, our events are for you.
Remember that Industry is Industry. One is not better than the other to The Hip Haus. We are expecting a diverse range of industry professionals. Our events in clude professionals from Tech & AI to Entrepreneurs, Musicians, Artists, Bankers, I.T Professionals, Accountants, Investors, Advertising/Marketing Professionals, Bloggers, Authors, Lawyers, Doctors, Dentists (This List Can Clearly Go On). ALL ARE WELCOME!
\*\*\*\* What to Expect at Our Events? \*\*\*\*Bring Business cards or have your LinkedIn QR code at the ready. Networking! That is the key to these events. Sure it can be a great place to hang out and have a beer with a few friends but it is important to come with an open mind to meet new people and make new connections. Build your network of friends/colleagues/advisors to help yourself as well as them. The Hip Haus wants the professionals of the GTA to come together to help foster personal and professional development.
\*\*\*\* Dress Code! \*\*\*\*This is a tricky one. There is NO strict dress code but remember this; you are meeting professionals in an informal manner and we all know first impressions last forever. Come dressed in a way that would allow you to be comfortable and professional according to your industry. Consider This…would a professional musician/artist necessarily dress the same as an investment banker at work? Be who you are or who you want to be.

VMC and the real Little Italy (8.2 km)
Italian immigrants have long moved out of Little Italy in downtown Toronto. Find them in Vaughan, home to a plethora of Italian restaurants, booming condos, and the local mafia. The areas around Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) and Highway 7 / Weston Rd are packed with industrial food outlets. We'll visit two cheese superstores, a seafood mart, and other hidden gems.
It's not just Italian food either. There's Vietnamese and a growing Turkish presence. Also, one of the top 3 croissants in the GTA. And a winery tour (subject to availability).
If that's not enough Mediterranean food for you, stay for a meal at a upscale Greek restaurant or grab Roman pizza and panini at a hidden takeout joint.
**Highlights**
1. VMC (Vaughan Metropolitan Centre) Library (depart 12pm)
2. Mapletri Supermarket
3. Bartholomew Bakery
4. Ricci's Pizzeria (depart 1:10pm)

6. Ciao Roma / Nes Bakery
7. Quality Cheese
8. Magnotta (depart 2:25pm)
9. Zet's Restaurant
10. Nonna Amina Turkish Bakery
11. Gulbay Turkish Bakery
12. Medusa Authentic Greek Cuisine / Giro Bottega / Corned Beef House (arrive 3:25pm)

Toronto Vegan Drinks 💞 Valent❤️Onion🧅Edition💘❄️
Vegan Drinks is a social event for those interested in making new friends and meeting like-minded people. We meet up on the last Friday of the month. You don't have to be a vegan to come and enjoy the fun (in fact we encourage you to bring your veg and non-veg friends!), but only vegan food and drinks are available for purchase. There is no cover charge but we encourage everyone to support our hosts by buying some food and/or drinks!
This month, we’re warming up winter with a late-bloom Valentine twist at the vibrant Dosa Mahal on Roncesvalles! ❄️✨ Sure, Valentine’s Day may be behind us — but love (and onions) come in many layers, and neither one follows a calendar.
Welcome to Valent-Onion: a celebration of cozy connection, great conversation, and the kind of food that makes your heart flutter and your eyes water (in the best way).
Come thaw out with us over comfort classics — from crispy dosas to bold, flavorful bites — and let a little spring onion energy peek through the winter window… a tiny edible reminder that brighter days are on the way.
Immerse yourself in an exclusively vegan evening by our gracious hosts - engaging conversations, unwind in the welcoming atmosphere, and tantalize your taste buds - with Dosa Mahal's mouthwatering delights (https://dosamahal.com/). From scrumptious grub to refreshing drinks, gluten-free dosas and pakoras, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
** Valent-Onion Event**
For this special winter edition, we’re keeping things warm, friendly, and deliciously vegan. Whether you’re single, coupled, complicated, or just here for the dosa — you’re invited.
Expect:
✨ great company
✨ cozy winter vibes
✨ bold flavours
✨ and maybe a little onion romance
**How does it work?**
*This will be a dry event. Bring your stories, not your spirits *
Just show up, have fun, and meet new people! Name tags will be available so you won't have to remember a million names! Talk about your interests, your favourite recipes and restaurants, your dream job to save the animals, the environment, your ethics, or anything and everything!
Come for the food. Stay for the connections. Leave with a full heart (and possibly a little onion breath)

**Abstract**
*Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation*
Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, we’ll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifacts—living documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification.
You’ll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. We’ll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, we’ll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written.
This talk will cover:
--What spec-driven development is (and what it isn’t)
--How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows
--Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development
--Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence
Whether you’re building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects.
