Dublin Data Science is having an event in Zalando for June. Zalando is one of the top Europe’s leading online fashion platform, connecting 62 million active customers with more than 7,000 brands across 29 markets. We will have two talks: one from Senior Data Scientist at Zalando, Alex Martinelli, and one from DDS regular Duncan Healy. **Talk 1:** **Data Science at Zalando** and a non-hyped view on how we optimize the use of LLMs for different tasks In this talk I'll provide an overview of the data-science work happening in Zalando, focusing on core projects built right here in our Dublin office, including product-matching, product-tagging, and Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) for customer reviews. While the rapid evolution of LLMs has made them powerful tools for these tasks, we adopt and evaluate them carefully. I will discuss our practical, balanced approach to adopting and evaluating LLMs, demonstrating how we integrate them into our existing pipelines to achieve optimal performance while keeping infrastructure costs in check. The aim of this course is to help you learn the skills you need to get out hiking in the hills and mountains independently, safely and responsibly. You will learn how to navigate with confidence by any type of weather conditions. The 2025 Reach Indigenous Advocacy Indigenous Advocate of the Year has worked tirelessly to provide access to Cherokee culture in Ohio through partnerships like her work with Fort Ancient Earthworks & Nature Preserve — part of the UNESCO-listed Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks. Since 2024, Renata has led hands-on workshops at Fort Ancient, giving visitors the opportunity to experience Cherokee traditions as living, evolving practices. This workshop is led by Renata Cauthon, a Cherokee artist and enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation, and one of the few IACB-listed Cherokee artists in Ohio. Beginning her professional art career in 2023, Renata has participated in several exhibitions across the country, including juried art shows. Her work is featured in her tribe’s official gift shop as well as several museum shops, blending traditional Cherokee design with contemporary storytelling to explore identity, resilience, and cultural continuity. The 2025 Reach Indigenous Advocacy Indigenous Advocate of the Year has worked tirelessly to provide access to Cherokee culture in Ohio through partnerships like her work with Fort Ancient Earthworks & Nature Preserve — part of the UNESCO-listed Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks. Since 2024, Renata has led hands-on workshops at Fort Ancient, giving visitors the opportunity to experience Cherokee traditions as living, evolving practices. She is honored to share Cherokee cultural knowledge, inspire understanding of Ohio’s Indigenous history, and invite visitors to explore and engage with her art.

We're going to GameArena! We'll be in-person at the GameArena Gateway for our monthly COGG Prototype and Play event. Come to play and showcase your games! We're back in the upper levels of the catwalk area. It'll be packed with lots of camaraderie playing your game(s) and other's games on the 2nd floor. Not a problem! All are welcomed and invited from all ages and backgrounds. We'll provide signage for your game to help others learn more about your work. Wifi, outlets, tables, and seats (though standing tables also) are available. Play works-in-progress, show off your own game, work with others to add polish to a game, or even lend your talents to other fellow developers.
