CMG Summer Road Trip: MOVIE - DISCLOSURE DAY at The Strand Theatre!
CMG Summer Road Trip: MOVIE - DISCLOSURE DAY at The Strand Theatre!
Join us as we take a short summer road trip to downtown Delaware and the historic Strand Theater to see the latest from director Steven Spielberg and what’s likely to be one of the better films we see this year: DISCLOSURE DAY! We’ll pair this fun film with an equally fun dinner at nearby SON OF THURMAN! Should be a great movie, a tasty dinner, and a fun day in beautiful downtown Delaware! Here are details, a trailer and our plan for this event: DISCLOSURE DAY: This epic sci-fi action-drama follows a whistleblower and a meteorologist attempting to reveal proof of extraterrestrial life as they face some unexpected opposition. The film is directed by Steven Spielberg which automatically puts it in the Oscar conversation! The stellar cast includes Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Wyatt Russell and Colman Domingo. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCYT8vb2siQ MOVIE PLAN: Please purchase your ticket for the 1:00pm showing and meet inside the theater lobby between 12:30 and 12:45pm! The theater doesn’t open until 12:30 but early arrival is encouraged to allow time for parking and to check out some of the nearby shops and stores in the gorgeous downtown Delaware area! CMG MOVIE + POPCORN DEAL: Usually advance ticket purchase is advised….but not this time! As a special offer to CMG members and their guests, the Strand Theater is offering a special deal that includes: Movie Ticket + Small Popcorn + Small Drink for just $10! To receive the deal, purchase your ticket when you arrive and let ‘em know you’re with the Columbus Movie Group! Be sure to thank them for this special deal and let ‘em know what you think of the popcorn! The Strand has what many consider to be the Best Popcorn in the State! They open their concession window for festivals and many are known to stop by for some, whether they’re seeing a movie or not! ABOUT THE STRAND THEATRE: The Strand Theatre is located at 28 East Winter Street in historic downtown Delaware! Operating for more than 100 years, the Strand Theatre is one of the 10 longest-operating movie theaters in the United Status and one of the few remaining independent movie theaters showing first-run films! The theater offers a variety of programming, including first-run, art house and ongoing events and fun film series! If you missed last year’s event there, haven’t been there (or haven’t been in a while), you are in for a treat! In addition to the historic theater, the entire downtown area has been completely revitalized with lots of great restaurants and shops! DINNER PLAN: Thank you for the GREAT response! The dinner portion filled up quickly and now has its own separate event listing. Everyone who RSVP’d by 6/3 and indicated “YES” for dinner has already been added. If you’d like to attend the MOVIE portion, space is available, click the MOVIE link below! If you’d like to attend the DINNER portion of this event, click the DINNER link below to be added to the RSVP list (or waiting list, if the event is full). ABOUT SON OF THURMAN: Family-owned since 1942, The Thurman Café in Columbus is a local legend that has received national acclaim for their legendary Thurman Burger, great food and fun atmosphere! Son of Thurman is part of that family of restaurants that brings the Thurman experience to Downtown Delaware and will be our dinner location for this event! In addition to their namesake burger, their menu features a huge array of appetizers, sandwiches, subs, wings, pizza, vegetarian options (like the Thurman Veggie Burger), and more! We’ll have a table reserved for the group! When you RSVP, please indicate if you plan to join us for the dinner portion of the event. You can check out their menu here: https://sonofthurman.com/ OFFICIAL CMG T-SHIRT EVENT: Did you get one of our CMG 2024 Tour of Columbus T-Shirts or 2025 Road Trip T-Shirts? While you can wear them any time, we’ll make certain events Official CMG T-Shirt events where we’ll ALL try to wear them! This is one of those events, so wear ‘em if you got ‘em! PARKING: The Strand Theater (28 E. Winter St) and Son of Thurman (5 N. Sandusky St) are located close to one another so you can park once and walk to the theater/restaurant. Street Parking is available on nearby streets and FREE on Sunday. Nearby FREE lots are available near the Delaware County Library, a short walk away. A Parking Map has been uploaded to this event. Neurodivergent Women Navigating Midlife Changes - Sleep, Rest, and Connection
Neurodivergent Women Navigating Midlife Changes - Sleep, Rest, and Connection
Sleep, Rest & Connection: Building Our Community Together Join us for the next gathering of The Pause Collective — a supportive meetup for neurodivergent women navigating perimenopause, menopause, burnout, overwhelm, and life transitions. Since many of us haven't yet had the opportunity to meet, we'll begin by getting to know one another and sharing what brought us to this community. We'll also explore one of the most common challenges many women experience during this season of life: sleep. Whether you're navigating insomnia, waking up in the middle of the night, racing thoughts, night sweats, exhaustion, burnout, or simply not feeling rested, you're not alone. This will be a relaxed, low-pressure coffee shop meetup focused on connection and conversation. No need to prepare anything. No pressure to share. Come as you are. Together we'll: • Introduce ourselves and get to know one another • Share what brought us to The Pause Collective • Discuss sleep, rest, and energy during perimenopause and menopause • Exchange ideas, experiences, and support • Explore what topics we'd like to discuss in future gatherings • Continue building the kind of community we'd like to create together This space is neurodivergent-affirming, self-diagnosis-friendly, and supportive of different communication styles and energy levels. Quiet participation is welcome. Listening is participating. Whether you're looking for support, learning, friendship, or simply a place where you don't have to explain yourself, you are welcome here. I look forward to meeting you. — Dawn
