This event is open to all for casual practice. However, coaching is not provided. 2 hrs of climbing is usually followed by a pint at Rascals :) About Gravity Climbing Gym: * **For anyone new to Gravity, they ask that you must have climbed at least 6 times in the last year or that you book an induction session directly with Gravity** (€28) https://www.gravityclimbing.ie/inductions If you like you can book your induction for the same time as this meetup and join us after (if available). -You'll also need to sign their digital waiver ahead of climbing for your first time at the gym. Meet up, Warm up, and Get Moving to Get Fit :)
We will start the session with some light stretching exercises to warm us up, and help to prepare us for the run. The pace of the run will be steady, depending on who is running with us on the day. Days when we have a large group we may break into multiple groups, each operating independently at their own pace. Saturdays are good for intermediate runners, and is usually a 10km run, again at a steady pace. If you're looking to get into running, come along on Tuesday or Thursday mornings and I will coach you, at your pace, to get you up to running (jogging) to 5km without stops. The only thing I will ask, if you're a beginner, is that you're able to walk for approx 30 minutes at a relaxed pace. PLEASE NOTE: That, if you RSVP a particular event, then please ensure that you attend, as there may be other members relying on you for company on the run. IMPORTANT NOTE: Any run or activity that you participate in with the group will be at your own risk. Usually we have a post run (after our cool down) coffee in the Dash container at the Hole in the Wall pub.

We are at the final segment of our topical triad of philosophical subjects that tell a story. In January we dealt with 'the soul' and what is a human being. In February, we had a conversation about 'evil' and what might be wrong with us and our world. This month we are having a discussion about 'hope' and what might make things right. Where does hope fit into a desired future. If hope has to do with a desired future, what is the relationship between the object of hope and the act of hope. What degree of plausibility should be attached to hope? How do our desires of a future state relate to its viability. What role does hope play in our own persons? What role does it play with society at large? What is the comparison between optimism and hope? What role might hope play as a catalyst for change? Does ‘always looking on the bright side of life’ make sense? How does a dissatisfaction with the present lay a foundation for hope in a ‘better’ future? You are more than welcome to come along for a facilitated conversation about hope. NOTE: we ask for a 3 Euro contribution to cover costs. Payable by coin or Revolut on the night. THANK YOU. Sangha (or 'spiritual community') Night is a chance for those practicing meditation and Buddhism to come together. The evening usually consists of a period of meditation, a talk about Buddhism and a Puja after a short tea-break. **Practical details:** The night will start at 7pm sharp so arrive a little early to ensure a punctual start. **7 pm** – Meditation **7.25 pm** – Talk with Questions and Answers **8.10 pm** – Tea-Break **8.30 pm** – Puja **9.15 pm** – Finish This event is for: * Sangha members both new and long-standing. * Meditators or Buddhists with some experience who want to visit the Dublin Buddhist Centre for the first time. * Those totally new to meditation or Buddhism who want to jump in at the deep-end. Each month there will be an overarching theme, and each week will be a Buddhist Talk on some aspect of that theme. All our Sangha Nights are led by members of the Triratna Buddhist Order. No need to book in advance, just show up before one of the sessions. On a donation basis.

Join us for a cycle out to Glencullen and back. 🚨Warning: this cycle has a steep/long climb. 🚨Please have back and front lights on your bike for this cycle. The total distance is 30km, but it has 450m of climbing taken on all at once. We do not go fast up the climb, we go as slow as needed. Here is our plan for the evening: 1️⃣We leave at 5:30PM from The Yellow House in Rathfarnum. Note that we meet acroos the road from The Yellow House by the church. 2️⃣We cycle South to where we'll climb up to Glencullen via R116. Note that due to subsided road, we have to make a detour up military road. 3️⃣If time allows, we'll make a stop at the blue light pub for a break 4️⃣After break, we'll head back to city centre. This is a short evening route with a fair bit of climbing with some great views throughout the ride. So, this week, it's back to **Ranelagh, and McSorleys** is the venue after you've enjoyed a run in the warm spring air, (We live in Hope!), so gather up ye Spring Spirit and enjoy the evening, it will soon be light, and the rain may even stop. For newcomers, our Group Runs are great fun, safe for all, and once the run is complete, we can share a beer, have a good chat, make new friends, and look forward to the following week. The Greenway is a celebration of an area of the Port that has never been accessed by the public before and offers people an exciting new destination to visit.
