It is Sunday again! So it is time for us to gather at Bastard Cafe playing games, enjoying a good drink, and having fun in the lovely atmosphere of the Cafe. Everybody is welcome, whether you are new to board games or you are an experienced player. We play everything from Codenames, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, The Resistance, Secret Hitler to more medium-long games like Terraforming Mars, Pandemic, Power Grid, 7 Wonders and Catan. You are welcome to come and play for a few hours or even stay longer if you feel like it! So girls and guys, come and join us for fun and games at Bastard Cafe! :D **FAQ** **Q**: *How can I find you?* **A**: Sometimes we got white flags saying 'Meetup' on the tables, and at other times we simply write the table number in the comment sections. But if you have any trouble finding us you are always welcome to write (chat or comment) and we will gently guide you to our table! :) **Q**: *What language do you speak?* **A**: Since our group is a mix of natives and internationals we primarily speak English. **Q**: *What games do you play?* **A**: All sorts of games! Social deduction games, strategy games, deckbuilding games, dice games, card games, dexterity games, you name it! If there is any game you want to play feel free to put a comment below, or bring it to the table to see if people are interested! **Q**: *For how long do you play?* **A**: As long as people want. We don't have a minimum or maximum time. The timer set from 1:30 pm to 8 pm are merely guiding times. Some leave after a few hours, others play until the cafe close...xD **Q**: *I am going to be 15 minutes late, can I still show up?* **A**: Of course! You are always welcome! Just be aware that people might have already started games if you show up a bit later. **Q**: *What is the average age in the group?* **A**: In general, we are a very mixed age-group but most people are probably in their 20's and 30's. Though by default, anyone no matter the age, gender, or otherwise, is welcome! **Q**: How does visiting the cafe work? **A**: A membership of the cafe cost 150 dkk a year and gives you access to all their games. Else you need a day ticket costing 30 dkk to play all games. There are also free games, but it is required you buy at least one drink from the bar to play them. We're continuing with Saturday evening Football / soccer ⚽ The field is not booked and the event is for free 🆓 Usually the field is available at 6 PM, but if it's booked by a local club, we must move. Last minute sign-offs will be banned 🟥 for future games if it happens more than once and no reason is given. The game is for all levels, genders 👦👨 and people wanting to have fun. We keep it friendly and respectful. Everyone who can should bring a ball and a pump. Also don't forget to bring a black and a white T-shirt as we do not have bibs.

Come join us for an afternoon run/jog/walk. We are not a typical running club, so please read about the concept in “about us”. How it works: we don’t know in advance where the trail will go, but we know it will be fun! A member of the club, the 'hare', sets a trail, usually marked with flour. The rest of us, the 'pack', follows the hare's 'scent', i.e., the marks. There will be a 8-10 km trail for runners with shortcuts down to 5-6 km for walkers and those who need a slower pace. We have no set pace - run/walk as slow or as fast as you'd like. After the run we enjoy some refreshments and socialize. All happens outside, so you need spare warm clothes for after the trail! Come a few minutes before the start so that you can say hi and leave your bag in a designated bag car before we set off at 14:30. Don’t worry if there are few registrations on Meetup. We have existed for 44 years, and a lot of our members (anywhere from 20 to 50 people) just show up. Four-legged friends are welcome! We never cancel. See you there!

######## NEW LOCATION ####### We are going to be at The Forge on Bethel Rd this week and until further notice! The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area! Parking can be challenging. There is a parking lot behind the building that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.

Join us at Easton Town Center for a casual evening of board gaming. Play from our library or bring one of your favorites to share. We usually bring along Catan, Ticket to Ride, Cascadia, etc... We'll be set up at the Donatos Pizza Party Room. It was free for us to reserve, but you may want to buy a drink or go in on a pizza. Why Easton? Although there aren't any board game stores / cafes here, it's a nice area. More importantly, this event coincides with LifeTime Fitness Parent's Night Out, so our kid will get babysat. If you happen to be a member of Lifetime you too can get free babysitting and play some games.

Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations. 
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus. 
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn. 
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play. 
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders… 
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords… 
IMPORTANT: 
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for. 
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.

All within a single game night. We play story games like Fiasco, Kingdom, Polaris and Microscope that encourage everyone at the table to participate creatively. We also have one-shots of indie, OSR, and narrative-focused RPGs such as Apocalypse World, Dread, Lady Blackbird, and Old School Essentials! Everybody's welcome! It doesn't matter if you've never tried story games before or never played roleplaying games at all!
