I do not organize or sponsor these dancing events. Please call the venue directly for any extra information you need or cancellations. HOW IT WORKS : We will try to assign tables for each represented languages and will direct attendees to their respective tables accordingly. Rules to abide : 1. Event is free and 21+ (bring ID). 2. Be respectful to your counterparts and give them a chance to exchange with others as well. 3. We all are native speakers of one or two languages and be willing to help others and try to accommodate as much as possible. 4. If you don't speak the other person's required language, LEAVE THEM ALONE. 5. Rude or aggressive members are removed from the group at an organizers discretion. 6. This is a face-to-face language exchange event. DO NOT try to arrange an online meeting, by using the comment box or direct message. 7. Most of our members complained about people writing in the comment box. Since it sends notification to all attendees. If you have any questions, send a message to the organizers. Don't write in the comment box. 8. We have ZERO TOLERANCE for solicitation. We don't allow anyone to run their own agenda at the Event. We will have a registration station and check you in\. 13\. This is mainly a social for Intermediate/Advanced/Native Speakers\. It is not as such to learn a language\. Volunteers are needed at the Community Garage Sale, organized by the Arlington Civitans! **This event is both a volunteer opportunity and an important fundraiser for the Jaycees** \- the Civitans pay our organization for every volunteer hour\! On Friday night\, volunteers help with setup of the snack bar\, posting signage\, and other duties as needed\. This event is held on the **first weekend of each month** between April and November. (volunteers are also needed for cleanup on Saturday afternoon - see separate Meetup event) As a bonus, if you volunteer for at least 5 hours at the Civitans garage sales, you are eligible for a **FREE Arlington Jaycees Annual Membership**! The Garage Sale is held in the Parking Garage located behind Washington & Liberty High School. It is a **10 minute walk from the Ballston-MU metro station**. **Parking** is available on level A of the garage or on North 15th Street, between Quincy and Stafford Streets, and along Quincy Street. **Walk into the parking garage and proceed to the Level B** **concession stand** \-\- ask for Martin\, Cathy\, or Paul\. Make sure to sign in\. Please wear sturdy \(closed toe\) shoes\, and bring work gloves if you have them\. Also dress for the weather as this event takes place rain or shine\. Proceeds from the monthly garage sale (from sales at the concession stand and vendor fees) benefit the Arlington Civitans, a non-profit organization committed to helping people with developmental disabilities. READ MORE below... **OVERVIEW** If you're not already familiar, **Ocho** **de** **Bastos** (translation: Eight of Clubs) is an amazing local band with a huge meetup following. (At least 7 groups are currently posting this event!) Boasting a unique, toe-twitching fusion of **tropical rhythms** and crowd-pleasing **pop rock**, the band features a Carlos Santana-style guitar sound blended with powerful Latin percussion and catchy brass riffs. The **energetic and engaging lead singer** is equally at home belting out "Despacito" as he is "Sweet Caroline," guiding giddy audiences through **Latin-inspired dance moves** in the process. The venue is a large village green space surrounded by **numerous restaurants** (both full service and quick service). **Food and beer/wine** are also available for purchase at pop-up tents along the green. Here's what you need to know: * Your host (Carl, aka PapaDuck) will float a large **yellow duckling balloon** to help you find our group. (If you arrive after 6 pm, the balloon will be lowered somewhat to avoid annoying the folks behind us, LOL.) * I will do my best to **save space** for us on the green. But if you arrive late, there are no guarantees. * Bring a **chair or blanket** for seating. Seriously! * Parking is available in **nearby garages**. The first 90 minutes are free.
