For this is where the iconic painter Van Gogh spent his last years, painting some of his masterpieces depicting the landscapes, cottages and houses, and the chateau all in Auvers-sur-Oise. Might you think maybe it's just him, but this place equally enchanted many such painters in the 19th century including Paul Cezanne, Camille Corot, Norbert Goeneutte, etc. Did I forget to say that this hike also features the pretty cool Conti Castle in addition to the Chateau d'Auvers. **Update 🌿** Due to the rainy weather forecast for Sunday in Fontainebleau, I’ve decided to move the walk to **Saturday, May 2nd.** As well as due to train maintenance during the long holiday, we’ll need to slightly adjust our route. We’ll meet at Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame, then take a train to Juvisy, transfer to another train to Fontainebleau, and finally take a bus to the forest.
